Well, it looks like Demigod turned out to be a so-so game.
Bad launch... Broken multiplayer, broken bots in singleplayer, no campaing, bad reviews, etc. etc.
I can think of SO MANY THINGS I would add into the gameplay right now. For some reason I think Stardock is just lazy. Having all these issues and bad AI, I just question myself: what are you guys doing in there? Personaly I would be happy to spend my whole day working to improve demigod. And I would do it completely for free! There are 8 working hours each day, yet nothing much seems to happen. The patches seem pretty basic without anything new. Gameplay misses a lot of features. When was the last time something MAJOR was added into the game since Beta 3? Right...
I fear (belive me, I realy do) that Demigod will be thrown back and forgotten.
Most of the Demigod players have played DotA (at least a half did, like me) and I think they just like Demigod, because it brings something fresh to the table, because they got a bit bored of DotA. But now as everyone has played a bit, saw what the game offers, I think many of the DotA players will go back. Too many features are missing (FFS why isn't there an option to always show your hp/mana in numbers? It helps SO much when you don't have enough mana to cast a spell).
As you've seen, Demigod progresses VERY slowly, and we can expect an extra map in about half a year...
Some bugs and bad things have remained since the Beta.
So, is this the end of Demigod?
How long will it take Stardock to at least fix all the bugs? A month?
P.S. And NO! I'm not a DotA fanatic. Unlike fanboys, I prefer to stand on both sides. I would be realy happy to play both Demigod and Dota, or even just Demigod, but...
ITT: kids pretending to be real programmers saying to do this and that and how easy it is.
FFS people, SD has been working their asses off and fixed 90% of the problems out there in two days. TWO *$#@(ING DAYS. No developers out there are capable of doing that, with so much dedicaton and communication. And it wasnt's even SD fault - flood of requests from "warez" users and early reelase by gamestop is what screwed day 1. Day 2 was much better with the fix introduced.
Yet people are still bitching and keeping calling SD names. Give SD a week and GTFO if you can't provide valuable feedback besides "OMFG MY GAYMZ DOESNT WORKZ, FIX IT !!11oneon!1oneone"
You say you paid the money to play the game and its unplayable, but guess what - there are a lot of people playing the game right now. So it is not a wide-issue like it seems by looking at the forums.
While I do feel pity about those who cannot connect and play with us, I feel rage towards those people who make thread slike this and QQ all over the forums.

^ You're my new best friend! ^
WHY the game had issues isn't relevant. The fact that it had issues is. WoW's launch was horrible. I could care less the reason behind it.
If you have played other stardock games like sins and gal civ II then you know they are awesome about updates and fixes. This is not EA, have a little faith. Stardock will take care of things, they are the only truly active developer out there after a game is released.....I pray that never changes. EA didn't used to be a money grubbing heartless craphole and I believe that Wardell wont let stardock go down that road.
You realize even the guide hints at more demigods on the way after things stabilize and I would imagine maps....history dictates stardock wont dissapoint!
The thing is, it's not about how right we are (or not) to complain, it's about hwat the public will think of the game now. It's a fact: the game has had a poor launch, and no matter how well they're working now, lots of people have tried the game and seen it not working for 4 days - and are not recommending it to their friends. No matter how hard they're working now, the bad grades are here and will not go away. It doesn't matter that you don't give credit to these sites -lots of people do, and they're the ones Stardockneeds to convince now.
And besides, no mattter how well the developers work and how hard they do, games should not be released in such a state; from what I understand, Stardock people understand this fully.
I think some people forget that Gas Powered Games is the developer. Stardock's only the publisher. Stardock can only fix things as fast as it can make GPG fix them.
Stardock and GPG worked together on the title, as such Stardock does actually help with stuff like that
So let's go to the checklist:
1) Demand money back, check
2) Insult game devs personally, check
3) Insult players personally, check
4) Compare game to WoW for an inexplicable reason and declare because it doesn't have WoW's millions of players, it's a failure, check
5) ignore fact developer has been working all this week to fix problems, check
6) Rest of thread degenerates into concern trolling, check
This happens for every game ever released, forever and ever amen. Either play the game or don't.
So your modding skills to add 5 heroes in 32 hours in DOTA are more elite than say... a team that created a game from scratch?
wow bro you're an elite programmer because you can tinker around with some mod code for Warcraft 3.
quick, go fetch me a router traversal sub-routine that solves p2p connectivity issues.
yeah, that was easy for a pro like you. next, go overhaul the single player bot AI. i'll give you 48 hours before i come on the forums and write an angry whine post about how you failed to deliver.
I'm loving DG so far. I played DotA for several years, time to move on people
Um excuse me, but the game just released last week and you are already proposing that they haven't tried all they can to modify the game and to update it? You obviously have no exprerience with coding or working on a large scale project of any kind. It takes time to go through code and to go through the various levels of command in the company to get something done. I give it to you that there are some things that can be addressed to increase the please of the game, but your points should have been brought up about a month from now, not in the first week of it's release.
So I take it I'm the only person who actually likes the game?
If nothing else, Rook is absolutely adorable, he was well worth the 23.99 I paid for the game. I would have paid more even but I couldn't pass up the uber awesome deal on Amazon (one of those seller people was selling it for half off because the wrapping was slit or some nonsense, it works perfect and the key is legit ).
At any rate, perhaps a little less doom and gloom. I treat all companies like Indie developers because no amount of money makes people less incompetent. I actually enjoy myself in single player, gobbling up towers with Rook and smacking my doom hammer on peeps.
Oh well. To each their own .
Seems people these day's never heard of a thing called patience. So yeah the game has big problems and it's only been a short time since launch but they admitted their mistakes and are working hard to fix it. I'm surprised that people seem to expect all or most of the bugs to be fixed in a very short amount of time but i guess that happens when we live in a society that is used to getting everything immediately. Ok so you spent money on something you can't use right now well all i can say to that is sorry but stuff happens and you can complain like everyone else or go do something else with your time.
I don't think Demigod will die quickly although one day it will die like every other game does. I can understand that launch day does have significance but does that mean that Stardock should give up right now. It's reputation is bad right now but that doesn't mean the consumers can't voice their opinion after the game is fixed and it doesn't mean that Stardock can not one day ask a reviewer to re-review Demigod.
Patience is a virture that seems to be less practiced these day's and people seem very quick to anger which in my opinion is something that people need to work on.
You know SD defenders, no matter what you say, for some strange reason...
I don't want to play Demigod
I mean it seems fine, provides some fun. But I don't know wether it's due to the problems or something else... I'm just loosing interest And I play VERY different games, ranging from First Pirson Shooters, to RTS, race games, logic games...
I don't know why... I'm loosing interest. Someone help me
Can you please send me your account email and registration key for the game? I'll play it if you don't want to.
It does seem like not a ton was done in the past 6 months. I worry that too many at GPG are working on supcom2 to be able to improve this game enough in the next 6 months to make it as good and the everlasting highselling game it could be.
Somaz - my friend brought the game and I've been watching her play it and it looks fun. Sure there are a few maps right now but I don't see why you are upset other than that. The patches Stardock released fixed many bugs already!
So 1 guy doesn't like the game tough luck it happens we don't care move on. We will continue to play it.
It is a forum, you are allowed to QQ all you want. Do not click on the thread if you do not want it read about it. Doh.
There are a lot of people playing it, mostly pirates. Good job at not pointing that out.
90% of the problems? How ignorant are you?
There was a time when games were very simple too which made it easier to find and fix bugs. It's fine that you think i'm wrong about people being impatient and yes when people buy something they want to use it immediately but i think everyone here knows that games come with bugs it may not have happend long ago but it does now. You could just return your game for a refund if your not willing to wait it out. I just don't really understand why everyone is still complaining as if no one else is complaining. Frogboy said they already made a mistake and are working to fix it so how is complaining going to speed things up but if you really want to complain like so many other people then that's fine it's your time you spend it however you want to. I personally see people getting used to getting everything immediatly and it seems you don't but that's fine it's your opinion.
You have got to be kidding. This game has been out a week maybe and already there's folks out doom-saying?
MrVyngaard, people love their drama. Blame reality tv or something
