OK situation. Doesn't hang-up at startup anymore. Now when trying to play online, I find a suitable game BUT then when trying to connect I can connect to say 3/4 or 5/6 people everytime it seems. Then there is that ONE person who is not connecting to ANYONE!!! This has been happening to me for the past 2 hours trying ti find 1 game! When I try to kick people that are doing that. NOTHING happens and they still remain there not connecting or connected to anyone trying to play a game!
I have the same problem so you are not alone wiith it.
I Draug 13,
i saw that you were on 3 multiplayer games and were disconnected everytime or just disepeared from the list.
I had the same problems and took a look at some explanations regarding firewall settings and NAT/port aperture possibilities.
I solved the problem by allowing the demigod.exe to open 20 ports UDP (standard ports 6112 to 6132) on my router.
I also asked my firewall to let communicate on all UDP ports from other PC's to my pc (and vice-versa) when demigod.exe is running.
Since then no problem to get connected. I entered and played all games online/pantheon without one issue!
Before that nothing was possible and just could enter bots games...
I was having the same exact problem today Seevtastic, in fact on my screen you were one of the people having problems connecting in my games.
Like you said, a lot of the time I can connect to 4/6 or 3/4 of the other players and vice versa but there always seemed to be one or two people who couldn't connect to any of the others.
I have to do more router work after my work to see if I can fix this...
If not, I'm bummed. I really like the game.
So I need to forward ports 6112 to 6132 to connect to people online? My problem was that I'd see people but I couldn't connect to anyone, it would just say "Attempt to join failed" and I tried every single game. Ok so I will forward the ports, but what happens when my brother, who is on the same network, wants to play with me online?
Me and a friend are having these issues and more. The odd thing is we were able to play 1 game. Just 1 but that tells me that our settings are fine. It's something on Stardocks side.
Current issues,
When connecting, would always recieve a "NAT facilitator" error between the 2 of us.
On most games I try myself I recieve the immediate "join failed" but on about 25% I can load fine and play.
On one occasion my friend attempted to log in but the game failed to list his name, and was logged in as "blank" (what?)
I appreciate the menus not taking forever to load, and single player runs beautifully for me. Just hope these multiplayer issues are ironed out soon, because it seems all the time I spent in beta testing just multiplayer seems for naught.
Use ImpulseReactorOptions to tell it which ports to use. Don't use autoport also, set a different port for both of you. Then in the router, have the correct sets of ports forwarded to you and him.
Also, join failed often means it's a dead game. i.e. the Host left but the server hasn't remove the room.
Thanks for the join failed hint, but the ports being diffrent shouldn't matter. We aren't on the same network.
Our main issue is the NAT facilitator, every time we try to join each other that is the only error we see.
The exact error reads "You have been dissconnected from the NAT Facilitator"
I can connect to about half the people on this game, unfortunatly since i cant connect to the other half i cant even play 1 game anymore ...
