1. IntroductionWelcome all, This guide is about Hrundel Lightbearer, The Torch Bearer this guide is subject to change as updates are released, and number crunching is done, Plan on working on this guide as well as my Lord Erebus guide making them as indepth as possible. Will be adding more sections such as How to play, Tips, and much more. Images are to be added as well as color to keep this guide indepth and easy on the eyes. Will work on both guides each day revising them as needed adding more information as I test various things out. Suggestions are welcomed on both guides Just PM me them and I'll add them to the guide and give credit to you. 2. Hrundel Lightbearer, The Torch Bearer Lore In the Winter realm of the Vinlings, Hrundel Lightbearer was born to Queen Frythia Fair Frost. Messengers brought word of the birth to King Hungarling, who had been away from his hearth for seven years, adventuring with his army beyond the Northern Frontier. Returning to his kingdom, he drowned his wife in her bath and put the men of her coterie to the sword. The infant, however, was a creature of such purity and beauty that he could not bring himself to kill it, and resolved instead to raise the boy as his own.As he grew, it became clear that Hrundel Lightbearer was not an ordinary child. His exceeding beauty was itself a sign of his strangeness, but he also showed unnatural proclivities that were seen by some in the Vinling Halls as portents of dark times. Both fire and ice seemed to obey the boy, who could make the flames of the hearth take human shape and dance around the hall or bring a snow-filled wind through his window, to settle on the floor in the shape of a pretty girl's face -- this to impress Thendrya, a particular pretty girl whom Hrundel hoped one day to make his bride.Hrundel's father looked on him with increasing unease. Though he needed a strong successor, he sometimes wondered if he saw in the boy's eyes the first machinations of a usurper. The boy asked too many questions about his mother (about whom nothing could be related on pain of death), and demonstrated a particular curiosity in the matter of the source of his powers -- a curiosity that could only lead to doubt about his true patrimony. The Priests of the Hall, frightened by the boy's abilities, warned their king that these transgressions would bring evil upon his house if left unpunished.3. Frost Master BuildLevel 1 - Rain of IceLevel 2 - Deep Freeze Level 3 - PermafrostLevel 4 - Rain of IceLevel 5 - Frost NovaLevel 6 - Deep FreezeLevel 7 - Rain of IceLevel 8 - Deep FreezeLevel 9 - PermafrostLevel 10 - Rain of IceLevel 11 - Deep FreezeLevel 12 - Frost NovaLevel 13 - PermafrostLevel 14 - Enhanced Attributes Level 15 - Biting ChillLevel 16 - Frost NovaLevel 17 - Enhanced Attributes Level 18 - Enhanced AttributesLevel 19 - Enhanced AttributesLevel 20 - Enhanced AttributesBuild ExplanationThis build focuses on the frost part of Torch bearer, we don't put points into the fire abilities at all. You'll remain in frost mode the entire game. We take Rain of Ice first since this will be our farming and damaging spell. At max level it can kill just about all the 'creeps' in the wave providing easy experience and gold. As the game progressed and the enemy uses citadel upgrades and their war rank increases you'll be able to instant kill the low tier 'creeps', but you'll probably have to toss in a Deep Freeze to finish off the rest besides giants. Deep Freeze is learned to chain with Rain of Ice and Frost nova for a decent amount of additional damage and increasing the enemy Demigod's cool down times which is always useful. That way some of them can't lock you in a chain and finish you off. Permafrost is used for having a advantage in escaping, chasing, and engagements since they'll have reduced attack, and movement speed. Biting chill is for a extra sting when using Rain of Ice in case someone stacks health per second through abilities or items. Enhanced Attributes are learned primarily for the extra mana per second, mana, and health the rest are just a bonus in my opinion. 6. Fire Master BuildLevel 1 - FireballLevel 2 - Circle of FireLevel 3 - Fire AuraLevel 4 - FireballLevel 5 - Circle of FireLevel 6 - Fire AuraLevel 7 - FireballLevel 8 - Circle of FireLevel 9 - Fire NovaLevel 10 - FireballLevel 11 - Circle of FireLevel 12 - Fire AuraLevel 13 - Fire NovaLevel 14 - Enhanced AttributesLevel 15 - Inspirational FlameLevel 16 - Fire NovaLevel 17 - Enhanced Attributes Level 18 - Enhanced AttributesLevel 19 - Enhanced AttributesLevel 20 - Enhanced AttributesBuild ExplanationThis build is focused on the fire part of Torch Bearer we don't put points into the frost side and you'll be in relive the immolation throughout the duration of the match.Fireball is learned first as a harassment utility to scare some players into retreating backward, back to base, or to use a health potion. Circle of Fire is your next damage spell, but serves as your farming spell as well. Fire Aura is learned to support those allies around you as well as increase your weapon damage. Fire Nova is used as a second farming tool and to clear the path of smaller units. Fire nova is also used as the second spell of your chain if close enough to the enemy (Circle of Fire > Fire Nova > Fireball > Auto Attack > Repeat). Inspirational Flame speaks for itself a extra 15% mana and a +200% mana per second is just to good to pass for a magic caster.

The secret with this build is to switch forms each 15 secs, That way you are able to keep both of the switch buffs on you at all times, the Ice form buff giving +75 dmg and the fire form buff giving +50% mana reg.
The weakness of the build is the fact that its a heavy hitter only and lacks the stun from frost nova or the heavy area damage of fire nova. It also lacks any of tha auras which are always helpful. It does however kick a really good punch as well as interupt/delay the spellcasts of enemy demigods with deep freeze as well as allow you to keep the switch form buffs active at all times.
Only use this build if you know what you are doing.

Wait, I don't believe fire and ice can be obstained without both fireball and deep freeze fully researched.
OK dude, did you really play this character?
Those build fails; you won't get fire and ice with only one of trees completed.
*Sigh.
And you DON'T GET CIRCLE OF FIRE, which is utterly useless ability (only good for creep crowd control, which you can do with fire nova.
8. Dual Master Build
♦
circle of fire is a ton of damage and the mana buffs from having it maxed are very nice, late game when everything turns into a huge cluster F its a great way to do damage to an enemy DG while keeping the reinforcements down, in large games its nothing to have multiple DG's and a ton of minions/reinforcements grouped up fighting eachother, why would you NOT want to have an almost endless power supply with nice AOE damage to suppletment fire ball/fire nova
its no where near a useless skill
No, it is useless, since all they need to do is avoid the circle of fire.
And in the end of the game it is all about damage burst, not constant damages.... That's why ice TB rocks in the late game while Fire TB rocks in early game.
I personally don't find Circle of Fire useless, granted I play full ice TB majority of the time. Besides if you go full fire your going to get Circle of Fire eventually and weither you choose to use it or not it serves as a farming utility, and additional damage which is never bad to have.
I'm sure most enemy melee DGs also think your CoF is useless, and they happily wade right in... oh wait...
by your logic i can just set up a circle of fire around myself and no one will ever attack me unless they are ranged, so thats makes it great
Trust me - Maxing out Fireball, Circle of fire and Fire Nova (along with deep freeze) is a very strong deep freeze build. There will be times when melee we have to stay in the circle of fire, or force them to flee at bad moments.
@ Dalzk: yeah, they can be strong build, but my point is due to nature of Circle of fire, such build is extremely inefficient. You need to invest a lot of efforts on mana and regeneration.
@ Fazzi & others : you don't understand this.
For example, fireball and fire nova are difficult/impossible to avoid because they are ranged/and instant damage given.
Circle of Fire at best may give 300~400 damage and tha't all.
In battle between decent players, the actual melee assault rarely happens: they keep the distance and wait for someone committing fatal mistake. Not to mention they constantly move all the time.
By the way, the level points are limited and there are other required abilities to make your TB stronger (hint: ice)
I understand wnmnkh when I come back home after taking care of some things I need to do I'm going to revise and work on the this guide and the erebus guide, correcting things and all that.
Argh, I think I whined too much and not contributing....
I usually found hybird (dual) is in fact only way to be a good TB. Fire TB will weak at late game and Ice TB will have trouble in early stage of game.
This is efficient build.
1.) Fireball.
2.) Fire Aura.
3.) Rain of Ice.
4.) Fireball.
5.) Fire Nova
6.) Fire Aura
7.) Fireball
8.) Rain of Ice.
9.) Rain of Ice
10.) Fireball
11.) Deep freeze
12.) Rain of Ice
13.) Frost nova
14.) Deep freeze
15.) Deep freeze
16.) Deep freeze
17.) Fire and Ice
18.) Frost Nova
19.) Frost Nova (complete)
20.) Rain of ice
This build actually completes at level 10, when you both have powerful fireball and decent damage of Rain of Ice with fire nova for crowd control. This also do not invest much on too much abilites, which will force you to save mana (trust me, mana will gone pretty quick since cooldown time of most abilities is very short)
I think this is one of most efficient builds I know of.
There is no need of putting more than one point on fire nova, even with 400 damage, the knockback effects will kill everything except cata and giants (regardless of hp the creeps have)
Firepower build.
2.) Rain of Ice.
3.) Deep Freeze.
repeat those process until level 12... So you will maxxed fireball, deep freeze and rain of ice.
13.) Frost Nova
14.) Frost Nova
15.) Fire and Ice
16.) Frost nova (complete)
17.) Rain of Ice (complete)
18,19,20 Permafrost.
or
18,19,20 Fire Nova (for more AOE damage.)
Very hybird unlike fire one which focused on fire side... This alternative build brings a lot of firepower, but the mana spending is just over the top that you will run out of mana pretty quick if not careful. This build actually completes at level 14, which all of three major abilities completed with level 2 frost nova.
Currently I use the mix of these two builds.
I'll be adding both builds to the revisioned torchbearer guide and I argree to be a good Tb a mixture of both are needed I was testing around with a ice and fire build and switching between both or "Stance dancing" worked wonderfully.
I'm sorry for any mistakes that might be in this guide and the revisioned guide will be rid of these mistakes with more information.
