so far, id like to say that i love the game. that said, oh my lord the waiting!! Online play isnt play at all, its just horrible amounts of waiting. Please oh please do something about this problem!! Spending vast amounts of time waiting on connecting with other players is not fun! Oh, and now im getting a promt to update to play online, but when i click update, it takes me to Impulse, where there is no option to update. Aghhhh the horror!
I too am getting Update Needed to play online and it takes me to the game page. Unable to play online at all since I purchased it, going to try and install it on laptop and see if I have a problem...
I have the same problem as well, it will not update nor allow me to play online since the patch was released. Playing online was a headache to begin with, but now it seems completely impossible. On my vista computer the game will crash every time I try to play single player or online. I've experienced lock-ups in the menu, sound skipping, and misaligned button hotspots in the options. In-game on the computer it works on, sometimes after closing the shop tab it will immediately pop open again, it usually takes about 5 attempts to close it successfully, or moving my character out of shop range works as well. There is one last particularly vexing issue during online play. If players become desynchronized, a window will pop up saying so, and it is simple enough to close it. However, if the latency persists, the window will continuously reappear and the game becomes practically unplayable. Aside from these issues, the game looks great and I remain enthusiastic. I just wish I could play it!!
Same as above, though, not running Vista. Dissapointing to say the least.
I have Vista and just a minute ago I could log on multiplayer just fine but now it just says 'invalid username/pw', which is wierd because I'm typing in the same info that had just got me online...not like I could play online anyways though because it's fucking EMPTY.
I am having the same problem as poster above. I enter my Impulse username/pw and it says invalid. Maybe they should try to emulate the WC3 Blizzard system. Seems like that worked out well for them.
Just wanted to throw an update post, I was able to update via Impulse last night. The online play experiance is much improved - although wait time is still what i would call "somewhat unpleasant". Compared to all-out nightmare, this is a vast improvement! Thank you for working so hard to support/improve the game. I look forward to a more streamlined experiance in the comming months.
online is still a disaster even after the patch. a little bit better, but stil a disaster.
Stardock. this is a MULTIPLAYER FOCUSED GAME, how could you release this game in its current state?
Its such a shame that this incredibly important part of the game is crippled, every other aspect of the game is excellent.
Gotta confess, im pretty disappointed in the multiplayer experience so far (connecting is horrible). This is not the quality of game i would expect after seeing Sins/Galciv2.
I really hope they sort this out in a short order.

Hello everyone.My problem about the game is the intel intergrated chipset/chips wouldn't it alow me to play demigod, why?
Or does it mean if I have an intel computer which mainly uses intel chips,micro's and silicon chips would not work if so then, you got to be joking? This game should work on any PC/LAPTOP.
Hopefully im getting an apple and a software that runs xp application would that run Demigod? Please reply I so want that game.

More than likely it's due to not having a graphics card (and this is a rather graphic intensive game - my 9800 bogs down now and then when 8 demigods are all flinging spells around). An integrated graphics controller steals part of your RAM, unlike a dedicated graphics card which provides its own memory. The system requirements state "Video Memory: 128 MB (nVidia GeForce 6800/Radeon 9800)". The notion that a game should run on any PC/Laptop sounds like the idea of a console, though in which case don't expect your XBox 360 game to run on the old XBox.

Hey gyus after going through the installation, updates, and what not i cannot even get the game to start. If i click the demigod shortcut it will have a little hour glass next to my mouse cursor for a short time but then just disappear and no game opens up what should i do?
Just want to say, as someone who was in the beta, connection was fine at beta 3 and beyond. There weren't that many people on, granted, but everything was working fine... until they released it.
Also, I've been having the same issue of it rejecting my normal impulse name/PW off and on throughout the beta and now it doesn't work at all, although my brother's login for the same demigod cd key works fine.
I too am having the bad username/password issue... i want to play online!!
Other than that nice game! Fix the bugs! Talk to your community!

Wow Stardock in the past i have been very impressed with your games and support. The entire reason i bought Demigod was because i had such good experiences with your games in the past and was looking forward to what you had coming...
That said i have been a video gamer for a long time and Demigod isn't just a poor release...its HORRIBLE.
Number 1...i can't play online...it isnt that online play is slow or difficult...my friends and i simply cant do it even after the multiple patches to "fix" the situation.
Number 2...the Pantheon ranking site isnt even remotely a working tool...most of the time it only shows half the matches played and even then they are usually with the wrong matches or the wrong stats.
Number 3...The game crashes constantly...to the point of ive given up playing it.
Number 4...Whenever the game crashes (which is almost every 15 mins) it most often wont let you back on saying invalid username/password.
Number 5...If somehow all the stars and planets do align to let you into a multiplayer match it is almost always to slow and buggy to even play.
Number 6...Whether in multiplayer or not, the Demigods freeze continually when you give them a command.
Number 7...The Brothers map is unusable due to it bugs out any AI controlled demigods essentially taking them out of the game.
When all is said and done i went and spent 40 dollars on what was supposed to be a fun game. Instead i went and spent 40 dollars to be much more frustrated and miserable than i was before i started. I am perfectly willing to accept that software is always a shot in the dark...and that many games arent even close to perfect when released. However i do expect them to work at least a little bit, afterall its not like i get to say ill give you 10 dollars now and the rest when it works right. You expect me to pay upfront for it i expect to at least get something for my money.
As it stands ive paid 40 dollars for a game i honestly wouldnt even rate as having reached beta testing yet. Can i go get a refund? No i cant because that isnt how the videogame industry works, if i could i would trade this game back in for a refund in a heartbeat. In any other industry this would be a laughing stock, we dont buy a TV that only turns on once in awhile...or a burger that is partially cooked...or a car that wont start, people would laugh you out of town at the idea. Well im not ready to accept that this is ok just because its how games are.

Netcode is horrid to say the least. Its hardly even beta-stage. Managing to join a half-full lobby is like shooting in the dark. I thought cod4 had a bad gamebrowser, oh the folly of youth and inexperience.
I too click on the game. I get an hourglass for a second or two and nothing starts. I have a G9 mouse and Logitech Cam installed. You need to patch for this. I actually have disabled both programs (and disconnected) through msconfig and still no go. A, trying other startups. Please figure this out,...obviously a common issue. Bad for a new release.

I spent 40 dollars and change on a game I cannot play. I can spend 3 hours on this game and 10 minutes of it will be actual game play. Isnt your company supposed to do testing on this game BEFORE you release it? Did you ever start it up and try to play multiplayer over the internet? It doesnt work. This game doesnt work. And the worst part is is that its really freakin' good. My game crashes all the time. If I'm breathing too loudly the game crashes. And when it doesnt crash theres such an enormous array of connectivity issues that I can't play the goddamn game anyways! What the crap, youre supposed to iron this stuff out before you sell it to people! HAVE YOU NO SHAME?

from the looks and readings it seems to be an awsome game...
I cannot believe in todays society games are still being released with so many problems that a game cannot be played... Perhaps there needs to be a body of power that enforces the quality of a game before being a released. Like quality and assurance..
In the end as everyone says over and over its the money at the end.. if we bother to spend X amount to fix the issues will it be equate to or profit over y made from fixing the issues, or is it cost worthy and time worthy to leave the issues...
EDIT: OR (which i dubt) its the people who cannot set up their nets properly...
