Hi! everyone, I have a simple question, what was the first PC game that you have played and loved?
For me it was Dune 2: The Building of a Dynasty.
It was way back in 1993 (cant believe its been already 16 years) on my IBM 486 with all 4MB of ram. Since that time I have played over a 100 PC games, but I was wondering what was other people's gaming debut. Feel free to elaborate on the subject (what year, at home, at a friend, how much you paid).
The original Age of Empires - still go thte disk around here somewhere...
Then it was on to Microsoft combat flight simulator I (I was a WWII buff, even at age 8)
then it was AOE II: Age of Kings gold edition (expansion pack and game strat manual included)
and so on...
hmmm
the first PC game i ever played and loved has to be STARCRAFT and then later STARCRAFT:BW
First PC game:
Prince of Persia (the original one).
But I'm a far older gamer. Atari 2600, Intellevision and so on.
Command and Conquer (1)... I still remember the song "Mechanical Man." That game had a great sound track.
I guess the "Home computer" is a class of PC's, so for me it would have to be boulderdash. That was one epic game.
Oh for gameplay of the 80's with graphics of the 00's...what games we could imagine.
The first game I played was on an apple at school I think. It was Oregon Trail. Simcity 3000 is the first computer game I've ever owned...at least I think it is.
My first pc game was I believe ELITE or one of the might and magic games- I had a commodore and a osborne before I had a pc So can not say what my first pc game I played was
Some side-scrolling ninja game on floppy disk. Can't remember the name for the life of me
Mortal Combat?
First game ever?
Fool's Gold, on a late 80's Mac (or early 90's, I was only 4 or 5.)
PC gamer since early-childhood!
my first game was FreeSpace. Still playing it sometimes with SCP ofcourse..
Zool??
Heh, had to text my older brother. The name of the game was...Ninja, apparently, lol: http://www.mobygames.com/game/ninja_
Came out in 1986. I just remember throwing shurikens at anything that moved. Memories...
My first PC game ever... World In Conflict... Yeah!
Still play it actually, savin' up about 60 freakin' dollars,(for the New one, WiC: Soviet Assualt) but it's fun to protect the Homeland and take back Europe, one neighborhood at a time.
2nd is SOASE, it's also my last (parents won't get me , and won't let me get anything else, so yeah)
Koda0
Oh it's been a long time, but I believe the first PC game I ever played and loved was the original Bard's Tale.
Sim City the original
Man this thread really brings back memories. It saddens me a bit that all of you new generation folks never got to experience the golden age of educational gaming. Most people I talk to these days don't even recognize The Learning Company that gave us such classics as Operation Neptune and a long line of super solver games. Gizmos and Gadgets being my favorite.
Leisure Suit Larry 7 one of the funniest adventures ever!
EarthBound for SNES, it was def what got me hooked onto RPG's for the rest of my life, amazing game really, i'm not sure if anyone has ever played, but truly awesome game, next to maybe, Lufia Rise of the Sinistrals, i mean the game is so long you literally have a kid at one point, get married, the amount of content was insane.
But anyways theres been a lifetime of great games...and not so great since, but till this day i still remb my first .
My first PC game was either the original Sim City or a WWII flight simulator. I had alot of fun flooding or burning down premade cities
hmmm... first that i can really remember would be either Starcraft or Riven. both were great games, though very differant...
Well lets see, first console game, PONG, first computer, Amiga 2500, first computer game.....Civilizations, Dune II. Nope I lied first computer game was Star Trek (one blip chasing another blip on a grid screen) on a Commodore 16.
Lets see, I got F-18 Hornet, simcity 2000, and civilization 2 on my old old mac, but first PC game(s) would have to be cnc tiberium sun, star trek starfleet academy, and of course civilization 2 test of time. Good ole times!
First played were the Zork trilogy, Janitor joe, Empire.
