Enough of this "let's all get along" malarky. We're here to conquer!
GIT-R-Done!
H ey, remember how Ben Hogan discovered the secret of golf? Well, I've just discovered the secret of ToA, and it has NOTHING to do with Race Behavior 3! It can, in fact, be implemented using powerful custom races that you create using the in-game setup screens!
Join this Empire in it's quest for 25 Million Points, and I'll show you the way the the 3-Million point character!
The Twilight Pub is the bothyn of good-natured ToA stooshie. In other words, it is a place to fool around with different ideas, try various ToA tech trees, and completely disregard the competitive aspects of the metaverse. The empire is open, so anyone can come and go as they please. We're just here bumpin our gums and acting like blootered windae-lickers.
The former TwP logo shall remain:
Thanks to CL for the TwP logo!
sorry about the injury. at least it was the left hand. wives have an uncanny ability to both laugh at and understand our afflictions.
david F marquis needs to learn to test what he is told, before sending messages.
That must be one of those made-up names. I've gotten an e-mail from him on every single one of my support tickets lately. Either that, or the guy works 24-7. Has anyone had a reply from anyone other than David Marquis?
Have you guys tested to see whether you can log in to the MV? It could just be an issue on my end-
Just tried, no dice. It is taking longer to get the error message, though.
Same thing with me.
Sentient species taste better...
Yes many times, But he does seem to be the most prominent one.
And IIRC David Marquis = Highlander...just FYI.
And no, Mv down for me too.
Well, one has to admire his choice of screen name.
For those of you outside the U.S. who may wonder what the heck I meant in that other post, many folks in customer service positions in this country operate under aliases.
snark...you don't have to explain anything, obviously done in the US too. or maybe India?
neilo, i'm behind the curve, is this a troll?
Highlander? Nah mate, he's a Stardockian, works in support. Ya see alot more of him in the Impulse threads and WC then over here.
As for customer service and aliases. It's done here too.
When i worked for a NSW government dept call centre we were assigned names.
Stephen Moper was my name. I always prounounced it as mopar though, being a HEMI fan...
What kind of car did Mad Max drive in the first two movies? AMC or Mopar?
Saint Mina of Ophelia VII of Order of the Bloody Rose of Orders Militant of Adepta Sororitas
What? Neither...
Considering AMC has never been sold in Australia i don't see how you could even get to that conclusion.
Mopar? AFAIK they have never developed a car in their own right. They are a parts and performance arm of Chrysler.
The car in question, the V8 Interceptor or Super Pursuit was a 1973 Ford Falcon GT351 Coupe. Designed and built here in Aust the GT's were at the very front of the Aussie muscle car scene. The Falcon has been designed an built here since '72 if my Aussie Muscle car knowledge is correct, and it is. (If anything they resemble the 1970's Fastback Mustang's more then anything from AMC, though i guess the AMX does have a slight resemblance.)
The Interceptor is the Hardtop version
In fact an earlier 71 model GTHO Falcon held the record as worlds fastest 4 door sedan for nearly a decade.
For US fans of the original movie, be sure to see the Oz version without the US over dubbing of the character voices and the elimination of the Aussie slang used throughout the movie.
You won't regret it.
Amc and Mopar indeed....
AMC stands for Aussie Made Car, I didn't it know had a different meaning, sorry.
Yea right...ok.
Well, I don't know much about Australian car slang, but I looked up "Obstinate" in an online IT-English dictionary:
"The afflicted device tends to emit destructive bolts of plasma energy, strangles technicians with creeping tentacles of wire, and/or fires intermittent bursts of hex screws at velocities of 500 ft/sec or more".
When the MV server improves from "Obstinate" to "Unstable", they should be able to fix it fairly quickly.
"Unstable: The temporal rift that has been creating a direct connection between the server and HELL has closed enough so that only the smallest demons can squeeze through. These can typically be slain with a sharpened screwdriver. Ravenous hordes of flesh-eating maggots no longer ooze from the power supply, and the graphics department is not generally required to act as fire support. At this point, the bones of previous technicians can be safely recovered and repairs can proceed with minimal risk of death or dismemberment"
*bump*
I have modified the TwP forum. Guests can still view our brilliance, but one must now register to post. My apologies to the 6 guests that got disconnected in the process. I really DID push the wrong button this time. Hehe...joke's on me for a change.
And, Windae Licker strikes again!
Well, after the enforced break from GalCiv that was thrust upon us, I have had a little difficulty getting back into the game, but I did just finish this one:
!
Another 5-brew effort!!!!
Here's a mild question for everyone: while I am extremly happy for Snark that he has snagged the gold medal from me ('cause I'm just going to play leap-frog with him and swap it back and forth, lol; Helga says we have to share it on alternating weeks) aren't we supposed to get a former first place medal when that happens? I have two characters who should have them but they are not showing up. Not a big deal, but I thought I would ask.
Any Top 3 medal will override the Former First Place medal. Whislt you hold down a bronze mate the Former Gold will not show.
Well, I missed my opportunity to close this one out in year 2, so I went for the Year 5 score:
Another great score Snark! How quickly are you actually churning these out now? I don't think everyone understands you have to be the "points per minute" champion in the MV, in addition to the reigning king of the MV. Stellar work, indeed! (Pun intended, lol)
@Neilo: Thanks! That explains it.
Thanks!!!!
Here's my latest Year 2 experiment:
Purely out of scientific curiosity, you understand *ahem* *cough* I am going to have to play this out to 5 or 7 years to see what happens.
When this character hits No 1, you people at Stardock are going to look awfully silly for not having fixed the display issue:
The large score lettering is my doing because I have bifocals and cannot see the regular size in the screenies. The rest is due to the forum bug.
Since you obviously cannot see the character name, here it is at No.4:
Now fix it!
@SerArris when you click "more" You move from 4th to 7th, yep that is clitch. I like your name and take it you have seen the animated series.
post picture here
It actually comes from the Privateer 2 computer game. What's this series you are takling about? I rarely turn on the TV these days.
