Enough of this "let's all get along" malarky. We're here to conquer!
GIT-R-Done!
H ey, remember how Ben Hogan discovered the secret of golf? Well, I've just discovered the secret of ToA, and it has NOTHING to do with Race Behavior 3! It can, in fact, be implemented using powerful custom races that you create using the in-game setup screens!
Join this Empire in it's quest for 25 Million Points, and I'll show you the way the the 3-Million point character!
The Twilight Pub is the bothyn of good-natured ToA stooshie. In other words, it is a place to fool around with different ideas, try various ToA tech trees, and completely disregard the competitive aspects of the metaverse. The empire is open, so anyone can come and go as they please. We're just here bumpin our gums and acting like blootered windae-lickers.

Do you put your starbases in middle of that map or near your home world?
Sorry double post
Saint Mina of Ophelia VII of Order of the Bloody Rose of Orders Militant of Adepta Sororitas
It depends on the game. I like to put it near my largest concentration of planets, so that the constructors do not have to travel very far. I always build the Spin Control Center on a planet as near to the center of the MSA as I can.
Since you're virtually never going to get it in the middle of all 24, and in fact in a 24-array probably not more than 12 affecting it, it may be better to have it elsewhere and build up a 16-array for it. Though that is somewhat cost intensive...and micro intensive.
@GmOOnii
While I would tend to agree, I'm not sure I'm satisfied with your numbers. For instance, I would assume most of us build our Hyperion Shrinker before researching to the end of the miniaturization line. Additionally, in TA the Yor still have a small miniaturization bonus (10%). As such, I would prefer either setting it in 5% increments, or simply inputting the number of the current miniaturization (since some ethical events can increase it by 1-3%).
@Sole Soul, it is just base numbers from miniaturization line in a normal game from the start 0 to the end 100% then add Hyper Shrink buildings because +115% is still last one even if you do built a Hyper Shrink before you finish the miniaturization line then rest of them are captured Hyper Shrink buildings and I forgot about the events that also raise miniaturization too. I have never played Yor so I would never known about the extra +10%.
It might be easier to just have a free sliding bar setting so you can slide to any number like 0 to maybe 250% or even 300%. Ahh I got it, a free sliding bar with miniaturization line bar marks and maybe a few Hyper Shrink buildings marks too then add for events or +10% for Yor :0%, +10%, +25%, +40%, +55%, +75%, +100%, +115%, +130%, +145%, +160%, +175%, +190%, +205%.
Either way it would be better than the 0 mark setting they have now.
What do you think?
Dunno bout you guys, and not to stir shit, but i know i'm getting tired of the goomnii being two people. the last few posts are not from the same big font loving, color induced crazy posts that we have been accustomed to.
Ya know goomnii, ya can always have more forum accounts. Your forum account does not need to be tied to the game.

More experimenting:
This aternoon, I'll let it run 2 more years to see what happens.
No 11: Make the atlas modules add to the total military score, rather than just the attack ability. Talk about increasing the Fun Factor! Woohoo!
@Neilo, I was told by well-known and established player on a secondry account that I should not cause unnecessary problems and behave in any forum I am in. My negative attentoin is over and now I am trying something new, postive attention and learning from my mistakes from the past.
Look what you can do after drinking several beers in the Twilight Pub...
Nice one, CL!
@Motti - Thanks!
To Everyone: More tips have been posted to the Twilight Pub forum. You can find them here:

Good Hunting!
!!!!
I'd hate to see what you could do after a couple of single-malts!
Actually, single-malt was a topic I wanted to bring up since we posted all of our clan crests earlier. Of those who like single malt, what's the best you have ever had, and what do you prefer for your normal drinking single-malt?
The best whiskey I ever had was (don't shoot the messenger now) actually an Irish one, called Midleton's Very Rare. It was exquisite and had an element in it that hinted of peaches. I'm not an every-day drinker, but my wife gets me a bottle of Oban every year for my ordinary drinking variety. Oban is my current favorite in the under $50 catergory.
Anyway, to answer your question Snark, I'm pretty sure a shot of Oban is worth 10,000 extra points, and a shot of Midleton's would garner at least 30,000 extra points!
Well, I had me a good ol' PBR (cue Dukes of Hazzard music) for the modest score increase of my experiment:
The larger purpose was to sacrifice the econ score to try and boost the society and military scores. I was able to break 300k on the military. Now that I know how to do that, it is back to the lab to try and break 300k with the society score.
A secondary purpose was to pay attention to the random events. I finally got an econ boom in Year 6. Not very many events at all for the duration of the game. I had the extreme planet slider set to rare.
Does anyone know whether "luck" has any impact on the quality of random events or anomolies?
Cute fuzzy beasties totterin down the sidewalks of doom beware, ya wee blubberin dafties, ye! I opened me bottle o' single-malt Korx, an I'm a sendin the Shathi diplomats fer yer worthless hides.
Roughly translated, that means I am playing the Korx as Neutral this time. +50 purchase-now discount! And I've learned the ways of the long-term lease on certain items. So far it is working well. It is Nov of Year 0, and I have 111 planets, a new personal record.
Woohoo! Go Snark, go!! I'm going to crack open a bottle of Korx right after I finish testing some theories in my current game.
What happened to my daily Scottish joke on the forum? I miss them.
i'd embed this if i could in here, but here's a good one for ya CL:

Man, I sure can buy lots of good stuff when it's half-price! I tried your tip ralating to unused planetary military production, exept I made wee survey ships. 64 in a single turn! The anomolies got wiped out in record time, and I had to set them to auto-explore. They are about to all get converted to wee constructors.
The jokes are back.
That is an excellent, excellent idea!!! If you have the galactic guidebook they would cost the same as a tiny blank and they would be much cheaper to upgrade to constructors/colonizers. Oh man, that is just a killer refinement. You have to put that one in the Tip of the Day section! Snork!
{edit} Actually, I can't get this out of my head. It's the single most significant new tip I think I've heard and it has to be the best new idea in quite some time. RED ALERT folks, pay attention to this one! This deserves to be paid attention to! +1 Karma doesn't do this one justice, so:
Thanks!!!!! We're havin a 1/2-off sale on that guidebook, too!
How does this match up against your games:
Feb 1, 2229, 453 of 540 planets, 3.8 Trillion citizens.
Here's another tip: I changed my mind and converted all of the wee surveyors to wee miners instead of constructors. 1/2 price for that too!
Well, scale back the red alert folks. I was wrong about being able to upgrade the tiny surveyors more cheaply. Apparently since you didn't pay for the survey module it costs the same to upgrade it as a tiny blank hull. However, I am not sure that this is at all fair since you do have to pay about 5,000 BCs for the Galactic Guide Book. Well, I'm disappointed that it didn't work the way I thought it would, but it's still a darn good idea. Cranking out 64 surveyors in one turn is still pretty amazing.
I think it just takes less time to build them, and/or costs less to purchase them from the shipyard. Personally, I think the Guidebook should also drop the size of the survey module to 0.
