I'm sure the developers are tired of seeing titles of posts that demand release dates, demo dates, DoTA or LoL Relevance and Class balance demands, so I'm making my own thread that's completely different from the entire first page of forum posts.I LOVE DEMIGODI read about demigod a very long time ago, watched the first trailer and was largely addicted to Supreme commander and Sins of a Solar empire so I figured pre-ordering the game and getting into the beta would be a wise investment of my entertainment fund, and not once have I ever regretted that decision.I never played DoTa, so when I was emailed a few months later and downloaded the game, I don't think I've ever been so confused in the first 5 minutes of a game in my life, (Well, maybe with X-Com!). By the end of the first match, despite me knowing full well the very first game is of course going to be the most fun, I knew Demigod had something special. For the next.. geez how long has it been since beta 1-A? 6 months? I spent the entire time doing bot stomps and progressively forcing all of my closest gaming friends to preorder the game and join me, and one after another they all quickly came to the same conclusion I did... that Demigod was probably one of the best new games they've played in a long time.I was at first really intimidated to try the PvP here. I know there's a lot of experienced DoTa players and players from other strategy games where skill is measured in clicks per second or some other silly nonsense, but after the past couple weeks, I've come to love the PvP in this game so much more than in most other games. I guess you could say the game is rather basic when it comes to the fighting. You have your snares, your burst, your heals and your buffs.. but that doesn't stop the game from being incredibly exciting. I've never screamed harder on Ventrilo when seeing Rook's hammer slam that would have 100% wiped my TB away get interrupted by an Oak repentance, or watch a team mate Regulus Snipe the unclean beast who ran away at the last 5% of his health. This game gets you vocal, and no matter how well you think you know your DG, you can almost always learn a new way to play him.I think Stardock has one hell of a hit title on their hands here, and frankly I don't care what anyone else says. I've already done my own experiment.. I've managed to get over 6 friends hooked to this game and I'm sure there are many more I could convince if I could be bothered. I will be doing my fair share of promoting this game on my community's forums, and I'm sure a lot of you guys will as well.Kudos to Stardock and anyone else working on this marvel of a game. Take your time with it, get the connectivity to work even better, throw in a few more maps.. and you have yourselves yet another huge hit that I am not ashamed to say I spend entire nights playing.Disclaimer: Rasgriz is a huge fanboi, and he's not afraid to say it. Quality game development is hard to find and the developers here far exceeded my expectations of what a Beta test can be.

[The world understands Evanescent, you like Dota and anything that isn't Dota is bad. Enough]
I agree with WoW and most MMOs because WoW has been around a heck of a long time now and it really just does it right. As for dota/demigod, i disagree. I've played DotA for a long time, and personally I enjoy Demigod more. There's more to it then just needing experience to be really good at it, or even to have fun, which is the one thing I really don't enjoy about DotA.
I admit to being a "fanboi" myself. I was pretty skeptical of Demigod until beta 3 but when the game came together it really has become something outstanding.
rofl. you don't even realize that in the paragraph where you talk about demigod gameplay you can replace all of the specific names of demigods/spells with dota heroes/spells.
here let me give it a go

I've never screamed harder on Ventrilo when seeing Lina's laguna blade that would have 100% wiped my TB (TB is also a low hp dota hero rofl) away get interrupted by an Omniknight repel, or watch a team mate Sniper Snipe the naix who ran away at the last 5% of his health.
Seriously, get a life. Go play DoTA if it is the end all in life and stop trolling. He likes the game, guess what so do lots of people. Get over it.
Is it so hard to make a thread supporting all the work the devs have done for these past months (and before that)? Does everything really have to come down to Demigod vs. DotA? Most of the threads around here are bashing Demigod in some way. Lists of ways to improve things or unnecessary rants from DotA "fanboi"'s litter this place.
I support this thread. Demigod is shaping up to be an excellent game. I won't lie and say its perfect, but I trust Stardock and GPG to support the game post-release. In the mean time, things are quite fun. Kudos to the devs for all the excellent work they have put into Demigod thus far and for the additional effort they will continue to apply as time goes on!
I also enjoy playing Demigod .
Optimism is so much more fun, to be honest .
I LOVE DEMIGOD
I never played DotA and I couldn't care less about it.
Good post! You've made me deffinately want to get demigod now, despite dota players saying how bad it is...screw them, it looks awesome
I have played Dota and it sucks yeah but I have found demigod very entertaining. [e digicons]:karma:[/e] Is this one new?
demigod has turned into a great game. i agree with those who wish the dota nuts would either accept that demigod isn't dota or leave.
i have played dota. i did not find it fun. others like dota. that's fine. but this site is about demigod and it's evolved into a fantastic experience.
Great post, I'll give you +1 karma tomorrow in Internet Explorer 6. I only have IE7 and Firefox3 on this computer and karma doesn't work.
The game is fun!!
And what helps in enjoying the game is the short match times. 30 mins game time is nice. And no waste if you loose. And constant action during the time.
Supreme Commander tends to have matches over 1 hour.
I'm also a big fan, and glad I preordered it - now it will be like getting the game for free when it's released
haha, i feel the same way. I bought it so long ago it feels like im getting it for free now that it's coming out!
Wait a second I paid money for Demigod, when did this happen?
I feel $50 ($40 from a retail store) is alot to pay for a game. I often refuse to pay more than $20 as I don't feel I get much value from games.
But the few games to make me feel I spent my money wisely (Anything from the Battlefield series, Sim City 4, Left 4 Dead, SoaSE) will have to make room for Demigod
This game is remarkable, addictive and entertaining. The art style of the levels are original like nothing i've seen before and beautiful, the addictive exciting gameplay, the creative design of the characters. OP, you nailed it.
I highly recommend it.
I can replace those with world of Warcraft as well dumbass.

Do you need another example or does your vagina still hurt?
Hahahaha Amen GenoZStriker! Im so sick of these elitist douschebag DotA fags coming in here and acting all high and mighty. Id give you karma if I could (firefox)
They didn't get it for free. They paid for it like everyone else, only it was so long ago that they barely remember paying so it feels like getting it for free.
lol wtf all i did was point out that the OP was so confused when they tried to play dota and had no idea what they were doing, and then they go on to about demigod without realizing it was the same game. i found this humorous. grats on finding the WoW similarities too. then i get flamed and called elitist for making comparisons. lol seriously? i never said anything bad about demigod or dota, in fact i've posted several time's that i want demigod to succeed. yet there are always hypocritcal elitists projecting themselves onto other people and pointing fingers. they advertise demigod as inspired by dota. dota players will play this game whether you like it or not. get used to it
