I've just finished the initial map. Here it is:
This is the state of the world in the year 2032. This political state was caused by an exodus of almost all nations from the UN in 2024 which dramatically reduced it's power, leaving many powerful nations free to expand into neighbouring nations and take over. In North America, Mexico and Canada declared war on the USA, leaving the US President no choice but to order an attack on both nations and estabilish the NAU or North American Union. Anarchy takes hold in Central and Southern America as military rebellions become dramatically more frequent, whereby the new NAU takes action and invades. In Europe, the EU attempts to forcefully abolish the identity of it's member states and thus creates the Europa League. The Europa League expands outwards into a new maritime empire, halted eventually by the NAU and the EAU and the crippling invasion of the Russian Empire and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In Africa, military coups manage to overthrow all governments and estabilish the Arfikaa nation, now struggling to hold off the Saudi advance. Across the north of Asia, Russia sees it's oppertunity and invades neighbouring nations en mass, forming the mighty Russian Empire. In the Middle East, Saudi Arabia aggresively expands into the rest of the Arabian Peninsula, successfully defeating the Europa League and the Russian Empire. In the Far East, Japan becomes militarised and manages to conquer a large sphere of territories, known as the EAU or Eastern Asian Union. It meets substantial resistance by the Europa League, the Russian Empire and Greater Korea who all manage to push them onto the defensive.

If I may elaborate on the factions:
NAU: After war broke out between Europa and Russia, The two border countries declared war on the United states, believing that the US had become a force tat would have threatened the balance of power. And, with the war dwindling the US' power, they thought their armies were sufficient enough. Unfortunately, early blitzkriegs resulted in a total defeat of both armies in a matter of months. The remaining territories were annexed to the US. Thus, the Northern American Union was formed. The erupting conflicts in South America, along with total Economic collapse, forced the annexation of all South American territory to the NAU. The invasion of Europa has sparked renewed conflicts with Europa.
Europa Leauge: After Many years, The European Union decided to join in one Europa Leauge. Soon after it was believed that Europa attacked New York and was responsible for the deaths of millions, Europa went to war with the US (Now NAU). Finding out Russia was actually behind the attack, war was declared on them, as well. The war that resulted was mainly based primarily on maritime warfare untill the Invasions of Greenland & Brazil. Rising conflicts in Africa and the removal of the majority of all governing bodies of Africa resulted in the occupation of western Africa as well. With the annexation of greenland to the NAU, Europa invaded there as well as former Brazil. Russia has taked a large portion of the Balkan peninsula. And with Australia Annexed by the EAU, Europa is in conflict with them due to Australia's historical ties with Europa. This, along with the formation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has kept the Europa Leauge in a state of constant warfare, both on land and at sea.
Russian Empire: With the discovery of oil in Siberia, Russia became the worlds leading producer in oil & petroleum, leading to the re-establishment of millitary might. The Russians, after funding attacks on American and European soil, were discovered doing so, and quickly was drawn into the war. Insted of focusing on their old enemies, Russia was determined to take back territories lost after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Takin much of Centeral Asia, Russia established itself as a ruthless and tyrant nation rivaling that of the Mongolian empire.
EAU: With the Invasion of Russia imminent and the discontinued protection from the NAU, Japan and the remaining Eastern & Southern Asian Countries banded together to create the East Asian Union (With the Exception of Greater Korea). They agree to also take Australia nad New Zealand, who surrendur without complaints. However, due to Australia's origin, Europa seeks to reclaim it, causing conflict between Europa & the EAU.
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: After strained conflicts within the Middle East, a new form of Islam caused the unification of both Sunnis and Shiites, and thus a stronger belief in unity. Angered at the greater countries crimes against the Middle east, and belief thet the greater countries were and are resposible for all the chaos in the world, the Middle Eastern and North African countries unified into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Afrikka, angerd by the succession of the northern states, are now at conflict with the Kingdom for taking their land. Of course, the Kingdom are also at war with the "Greater Countries", basically everyone surrounding the Kingdom.
Afrikka: Rebellion and poverty has affected Africa for over 100 years, and it all came to an end when Kenyan Rebel leader Jassull Kabhadi led a continent-wide rebellion, overthrowing every government of every country, and establishing the People's Republic of Afrikka, or just Afrikka. However being a highly militarized nation, their focus has been to see the economic stabiliztion of their great nation, however due to the amount of riches found in Africa, and the mere fact that they achieved their means by killing millions in the process, Afrikka has been the target for many large nations, especially those who have a large economy and former business deals with Afrikka. They are also in a conflict with the Kingdom, due to the Annexation of their northern states.
Greater Korea: After WWIII broke out, there was no way of stoping Kim Jong Il from taking South Korea. Claiming to be "A haven from the outbreak of war within today's world", Greater Korea is not in conflict with any nation (Regardless of it's Nuclear stockpile), however it is considered "Friendly" to the EAU.
the other two (Arabia Sydacyte, Bhutan Dynasty) are up to The Undying...

the reason why the EAU and NAU are not joined, regardless of similar enemies is because the NAU abandoned the EAU countries, and there are political strains going on between them.

The EAU, still remembering the threats that were posed to Japan by North Korean missles earlier in the 21st century, are not fond of Greater Korea. They see the nation as an enemy not yet decimated. All that is about to change. A massive attack is launched on the Greater Korean forces occupying southern Japan. The invaders are driven out and the homeland secured. And now, the battle for the Far East is on.

Below is the political world one year later. The EAU has annexed Greater Korea but, as I'm being lazy, I'm not going to zoom in on any of the islands. It's obvious that the EAU has taken the islands around Korea, and there's no reason to highlight them at this time.
Before we continue, I'd like to point out that the Russian Empire follows a different tactica to the other nations: very large numbers of weak troops.

I'd like to take control of Saudi Arabia, which is the first time I've taken a role. My first action has been developing a secret sauce for use in the space cookie mixture (Neil Armstrong dropped the ingredients list on the Moon), but unfortunately the Russian Empire has nabbed both the blueprints and the prototype. I'm now formally declaring war on the Russian Empire in a bid to get them back.
Before the Arabian sydicate could move, Russia decides it needs more oil reserves and takes over the Arabian syndicate. BTW we were already at war, its in the OP.

w00t, I've figured out a way to shift the resolution! The island chains are now clearly visible, meaning I no longer have to crop them out individually.
The Bhutan Dynasty is the new form of the Bhutan state which ended in 2024. Half of it's territory has been annexed by the enroaching Russian Empire, and the government has since refrained from taking a place in the global stage. As there are few natural resources in Bhutan, neither the EAU nor the Russian Empire consider it strategically important.
Destroy it anyway.

Now that the UN is gone, we have the opportunity to create a new collaboration of nations. A global anarchy could become apparent if we lose our globalisation.
1. Nukes are obsoete. It's all about kinetic bolts, baby! (Basically oversized conventional bombs launched at earth from space at extreeeeeeeeeemmmeee speeds, thus creating a kinetic explosion)
2. Russia has alot of oil, and Saudi Arabia is running out of it. However, they found a great number of small pockets of daimonds
3.we could create a new collaboration of nations, but why? We are in WWIII, and we are (supposedly) pissed off at each other for one reason or another
two more things: One, we can declare war on anyone we want as long as it is for a viable reason, and two, if diplomacy is good between people, alliances can be made.
