I am trying to make a map, but when I try to play it, I can play it in the original sins but not in entrenchment.
I have fully updated both programs and the lattest gallaxy forge.
I have tried placing the game in the sins root directory and in the secondary directory.
I had the same problem so I wrote a little program to add maps to the galaxy.manifest in the entrenchment folder.

unzip to a folder anywhere & run the exe then click on the auto find & fix galaxys

I just had a thought. Why do we have to go through all this trouble to get the maps to work?

I just had a look for the file you mentioned and I found it. So do I have to add the name of the map to this file and it will work?
it was a decision by ironclad to simplify file loading for entrenchment, but they forgot that people other than themselves make maps so the came up with the idea of all maps being in a list, but no automatic way of adding to the list,.
I would have finished the galaxy manifest manager earlier but I was busy with the map updater & debuging the internationalisation of it before I could get back to playing & the galaxy manifest issue irritated me so I modified the code from the latest map updater to delete all galaxy manifests and get all galaxy file names then create a NEW galaxy.manifest in the entrenchment folder, so that all maps would be available in all entrechment mods.

I deleted the file as it was ONLY needed for entrenchment 1.01. for entrenchment 1.02+ and sins 1.16+ the following instructions WORK.
first you will want/need a either or both winrar and 7zip to extract files then download and install galaxy forge from the sins download pageassuming you have sins 1.17/entrenchment 1.03, the galaxy forge maps NEED to be placed here for xpC:\Documents and Settings\'user name'\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\GalaxyForgeor here for vista/windows 7C:\Users\'user name'\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\GalaxyForge.NOTE the first two folders after the 'user name' are hidden , so to see them you must first click on 'tools' then 'folder options', then 'view', then click on 'show hidden files& folders' then click ok, then you will be able to browse your want to the folder. I suggest when you find the folder that you create a shortcut to it on the desktopalso the galaxy forge maps only show up in the galaxy forge tab of map typesand if a map you want to play was released before 25th feb 2009 then you will also neet the sins map updater from herehttp://files.filefront.com/sins+map+updater+v201rar/;13585432;/fileinfo.htmlharpo
i download your tool to update the custom maps but it says it won't run with version 1.17, entrenchment 1.03 can you plz update the tool or tell me how to fix a map?
all you have to do is edit the targetsinsver.txt file to contain 1.1.7.0
