Hi, am wondering if there is a campaign for single player, or is just single maps?
Was gonna buy the game, but friend told me that there is no single player campaign...
Its kinda odd, but just thought i ask here first, before i buy it, cause game seems awesome, but if its only for multi play and skirmish maps, i wont buy it.

A campaign is also a good way to make people familiar with basic principles, in addition to the tutorials.
I don't think that a game that is out for so long would need a campaign that familiarize the audience with its basic gameplay principles. Hardly any of us, the Sins fans would swallow something like that. In my eyes the campaign must be very hard, controversial, without the trivial build a base, zerg out units and rush the enemy, but more like a limited number of units given for every mission with very few or not at all reinforcements. Then when you advance scrapping for every ship and with a last gasp reached finale, then with the scope of the game in mind, that would be something worth playing:) Besides that, for me the Campaign would be the ideal occasion for the devs to introduce a new race/races. That would defenitely rejuvenate Sins and would be welcome heartedly by anyone.

i must admit that after watching the intro i was left scratching my head when i found they didn't elorabate on it....
a campagin revolving around that would be nice
also a TEC-vs-Advent campaign woulda be a nice addition you could have the vasari come into the mix part way thru to really throw a wrench in the war...
also the diplomacy needs work badly, i mean the TEC and advent should hate each other period and same with TEC and vasari so alliances should only involve your own culture (ie TEC allying with TEC etc etc) as i understand the TEC would never ally with either of the other two cultures
They didn't introduce a story. They introduced lore.
In an interview, the devs said that they will do a campaign, but it will be totally different from anything else in the game. It will be completely unique. There will be items, much more customisable cap ships etc.
I was glad to hear that because its going to be something different from the usual "capture X planet" etc.
Be patient, the Sins campaign will be done properly.

Sins is fun without a campaign, just like Master of Orion had none, but was still incredibly fun.
But we know the game "Homeworld", which was incredibly fun, too. If they plan to do expansions, a Homeworld-style expansion would not be bad.
There are so many possible interesting scenarios for a campaign:TEC & Advent & Vasari UNITE!... because THE UNKNOWN ENEMY (tm) arrives, destroying planet after planet. This unknown entity is a beast from the "negative" side of the universe, that is total barren of organic life, but full of life based on silicone, aka Pamela Anderson. SCNR... There is no compromising with such an enemy of life, so your job is to destroy evil at its roots and find out how to do so - and save the universe.
I hope they come up with a better, less trashy, story...
Personally, i think that there is no need for devs to make a campaign (as they don't seem very enthousiastic to do so) but if they could give us a tool to create campaigns with script, victory conditions, a tool to make ingame video, etc... that would be great. Empire earth, Rise of Nations, Age of empires II, all these games had a campaign editor that was used to make the official campaign. there were great tools.
