Sorry if this has been posted, I did a search but didnt find anything similar, so anyways.
First of all, fences is great so far, I'm loving just being able to hide the icons alone, as well as the organizational aspect.
However, I have this weird issue with the recycle bin icon (which I keep on the desktop itself, not in a fence).
The recycle bin, which I always keep in the default lower-right-most corner, really doesn't want to -stay- in the lower right most corner.
In fact, it doesn't like being in the right-most column of the desktop at all, constantly rubber banding to the next column over. In one very specific spot near the lower right corner, it will in fact move to that corner, but it is difficult to find this spot and, after restarting my computer, the recycle bin always jumps to the top row of the rightmost column.
Due to my nature, I just want the stupid icon to stay in the lower right corner, but fences appears to be conflicting with something (as the issue never existed 'til I installed fences) and...it just makes no sense to me.
Anyways, I am using Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit and I'd appreciate any solutions anyone can give or explanations as to what's causing it, if it's a bug, etc.
I had the same problem
First I set the icon to always visible and I made a specific dock(tray?) for it. I then put the dock in the lower right
not exactally perfect but it works well enough
Aye, I've resorted to that as well, but it's more a workaround than an actual solution, and it really shouldn't be necessary to begin with.
Then again, fences is still in beta, and is free, so I don't have much room to complain.
I have an issue with my Recylce Bin just disappearing whenever I use Fences.
If I turn Fences off, it's there, if I turn Fences back on it's not.
But I like fences enough that i can live with no recycle bin to drag to.
I managed to get round that (the Recycle Bin disappearing) - I navigated to my Desktop folder (I'm on Win8), then right-clicked on the Recycle Bin icon, and chose create shortcut
I then dragged the new "Recycle Bin - Shortcut" into a fence - seems to work just like the real thing
I guess it's because the Recycle bin isn't an ordinary icon
