OK even with the latest beta 0.93.033 I still haven't been able to run this game since I played it last in the Beta2 series of releases. It is getting a bit disconcerting now that the spring 2009 release date is creeping up on us and nothing has changed for me in a couple of patches. My setup is Windows Vista64 Ultimate, with the latest Nvidia Drivers. I have tried the various compatibility modes and nothing so far has helped. It crashes immediately after you try to start the game with an app crash message.
What happens when you try to run?
LurkerLito, I know this isn't going to make you feel any better about your situation but I too have Vista x64 Ultimate and have been running without problems.
Have you attempted an uninstall followed by a fresh install straight to the latest version?
Just a thought. Hope you get going soon.
maybe comodo firewall or some of these conditions?

i have comodo and i have the error when i try to starts the game.solution for now its clicking more time on the demigod icon ignoring the error that pop ups
I have a simliar problem.
The game just does nothing when I klick on the exe file. I'm running xp on my system with an nvidia cart.
I really hope they will be able to fix this as it has been a problem for several updates until now.
Yes I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but it didn't help. I just tried the 3D patch and it doesn't work either. I am running comodo but it shouldn't be an issue because I put the demigod.exe in the trusted apps list. I guess I should try to disable it completely and give that a go but it isn't the firewall that is complaining it is windows just putting up a "application has stopped working message".
That link also lists the logitech webcam drivers. I do have that installed, I tried disabling them and also stopping the logitech video service but it didn't do anything. It's also kind of hard to believe it is the cause because the beta2 version of demigod did work on my system.
i dont know why but all the people that uses comodo has this problem.the problem is since beta 3,the previouos versions of the beta dosent have it.and no,putting in trusted applicattion dosent help lurkerlito, but the problem is in comodo(i have read that unistalling comodo the game works fine)
i think the devs are already working in it,and i have posted the link where they say clearly when this problem pop up.
i repost the link http://forums.demigodthegame.com/341011
sorry for my english
caeldrin is right; Comodo is the problem (well, likely is).
this happens with Supreme Commander (which uses the same engine as Demigod), when people uninstall Comodo their problems go away.
[EDIT:] make sure you uninstall the Logitech webcam drivers too (to be doubly sure), and IINM Kaspersky antivirus is also common amongst people with Supreme Commander technical issues.
I won't be uninstalling comodo for demigod. That isn't even an option. I hope they fix it before the release. Bottom line for me is if they can't get it to work with comodo installed but disabled then they didn't program something correctly and it needs to be fixed. Same with the logitech drivers.
I have over 100 other games installed and not one has an issue with comodo once it's disabled or the program is put on the trusted list.
i should point out that it's not SupCom/DG's fault; it's poor coding on Logitech's behalf. those Logitech drivers inject code into every running program in Windows, i know i'm painting Logitech in a pretty dark light right now, but it's in a similar manner to how some malicious code works.
i'm not saying Comodo does the same, but if it presents the same symptoms as Logitech, a person's mind can only make one conclusion.
also, may i ask why uninstalling Comodo isn't an option? there are other options to FW and AV.
I agree with LurkerLito. Unistalling Comodo is not a solution rather than a temporary fix. No I didn't unistall it but I will play the game at my Windows XP partition as long as the problem is fixed.
I am not unistalling because I shouldn't have to do it in the first place and I kinda like the Comodos firewall more than other programs. I also newer had any problems with SupCom.
There is also an incredibly rare issue with Google Desktop preventing the game from running. If you have it installed, try uninstalling it and see if that works.

this was found by a very helpful newbie on the SupCom forums by the name of MajmX.
i expect this will also work for Demigod.
I have never used the defense+ option. I have had it at disabled all the time but doing as the guide says works perfectly. Thanks for you and MajmX.
I had a problem with the logitech driver, it has some hooking stuff going on that inserts itself into started processes. At least version 11.5 has.
The problem also occured when i was debugging with Delphi. The debugger catched a break when the process was loaded and could not continue. After several tries the debugger would run.
Only way to fix that is to un install the logitech software. (stopping the services will not help). I did an now i can happely run Delphi and Demigod.
On google you can find several related posts on other forums about this problem. It should be fixed in a never webcam driver version. But that version was not available for my webcam.....
Guys, perhaps the other applications are interfering with the video configuration. Please try running in Windowed mode, and let us know if it's still happening?
Make a shortcut for the executable and add these program arguments : /windowed 1024 768
You can use other dimensions if you'd like, but at least try it once just as above.
Thanks.
Yes the problem can be worked around with the disable defense+ permanently option. I just gave it a try. I do want defense+ running as I think it is a really nice feature so I will be enabling it again. So I am still looking for this to be fixed. I will try to email comodo but since I am using their free product I don't know if I get support, so I will hope the fix comes from GPG since it affects 2 of their titles now.
have the same problem. I downloaded and instaled Beta of Demigod (0.93.033) on Windows XP with SP2
have no comodo, no google desktop, no any of logitech drivers instaled, and disabled firewall and antivir but game still wont start.
when I click on Play or exe file there is no effect...
/windowed 1024 768 - doesnt work also...
someone can help, please?
