Hey Im sure this has been adressed before but I am so stuck. I purchased windowblinds not 30 minutes ago. When I try and change a theme it just reverts it to a windows 98 theme. It refuses to change them. When I hit apply nothing happens andi it stays at windows 98. If anyone has any answers i would appreciate it
Open WindowBlinds Configuration,go to system info and copy the info. Then paste it here.
Did you reboot after the install?
Did you uninstall the trial first if you were using it?
Do you have nVeiw running? It doesn't play well with WB's.
I have the same problem I dont know why its doing it. Nview is installed but its disabled. Any help would be great. IM running 64 bit xp.

XP 64 bit is not supported on versions of WindowBlinds higher than 6.2. You can e-mail support@stardock.com to get an archive of this version to use on XP x64
it said it was and it installed fine. wouldnt it not install (like the trial) and say this is not supported with x64?
unfortunately no, no such warning was built into the application at the time (it may be present in the latest version)
I downloaded windowblinds and am having the same problem. I have vista 32-bit and restarted as well. I also downloaded a theme to use instead of using a windowsblinds-created theme but it did the same thing -- reverted to the windows 98-type theme. Thanks for your help. Here is my system info:

The trial is only good for 30 days. When did you install your copy?
Yesterday. I just tried to change the theme again and it reverted back to the standard vista theme -- not the one selected. Also, every time it reverts back to either the 98 or vista theme, Windowsblinds closes. Thanks.
That's interesting nvs5037, I don't think I've ever seen an unknown experience score before. I think you might need to email support@stardock.com with your problem.
He just hasn't run the assessment,Philly.
You should do that,btw.
May I ask when you downloaded the trial and from where, nvs5037?
The experience score may be the root issue here. I find more things each day that aren't turned on or don't work right if this isn't updated.
Now that is a bit of usefull information.
I think I downloaded it straight from the windowblinds website (https://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/downloads.asp) but I could be wrong. If the experience score is the root issue, what should I do? Thanks. -Nick
Go to control panel, system and maintenance, check your computers exp.score and select "Update my score"
checking the preformance applied the theme. thanks for your help wizard, philly, and shirley!
Enjoy your WindowBlinds!
I have vista 64bit and I still can't run it, even after updating my experience..

nvs5037: came across your support ticket. Glad to hear you got it working!
I've had this problem before and there are a few ways I get around it. So I applied a new windowblinds skin and it reverts to windows 98. I right click on the desktop and then choose window appearance and change it from windows basic to aero(or whatever is normal for your OS) then reboot and it should be okay.
Another thing I've done in the past is just unload windowblinds and reboot and load it again. Sometimes that works.
Anyway, I've always been able to get the windowblinds to work, its just a matter of trying those things until it works.
By the way, Im running vista ultimate 64 bit.
Hope that helped somehow.

I did all the things you questioned, and I have no idea what Nview is so I'm in the clear.
edit: I re-installed and it's now working, except I cant see the address link on the bottom of the firefox screen.. any help with that one? It's dark blue right now.
Ther have been a lot of updates since that version. I suggest updating to 6.4 through Impulse.Odds are that will fix it.
