The expanse of the northern pole region lay out before the obsidian palace of the Chaplain-Court. Jannat al'-Adn, as it is known, is nothing like the eden spread across the surface of New Ravion. It's surface, riddled with the signs of volcanic activity, appears flash-frozen as if stopped at the moment of activity. Icy arcs exist in the place of magma surges; dense gases from geysers are ceased in mid air. This cold environment of dying, made in the image of the Emperor, will kill anyone attempting to travel through it's frozen mazes.
Firaeon rested against the barricades in the wake of an open roof. He stared inquisitively at the surrounding lands, before turning to Cere, the Judge Magister of Earth;
Cere said to Firaeon: "This new world, this Messiana, what is it like? Are there cities and forests of pardon, as we are told, or is it shifted to a darker period. Am I welcome there, or will I appear as but an illusion and fall with time. Do they follow our faith, or is their judgement yet to come, brother."
So Firaeon thought about this, and said: "It is surely shifted to chaos, as their gates never opened for many. You will be praised and worshiped there as it's legacy commands. Their Korbanot burns their skin, they will never know their Third Temple, as they say they will. It is lost forever and they will never know it again. If we stay faithless, we will fall and it will exterminate us, and we must yet descend into the Divine Comedy for Heofon."
WARNING: This may not make much sense, but there are loads of references to religion here (It's not finished either).
The Undying.
Noobsauce, Why is it that a lot of the things that Nira says are in italics?
Samurye.
She's a being of higher power, and the funny thing is you picked a character name from the book sereies Saga of the Seven Suns
There are only 40 capital ships in the original Saiv Navy, and there are now even less in the Othinel Consortium. The Empire is going to be conservative about these.
Spelt 'Othniel' not 'Othinel.'
Y'know, you should really start googling the names I put into this RP; like Judah, Othniel, Nabatiye etc. The name Ἀποκάλυψις is particularly significant.
Also, the god races mentioned so far are only the mainstream ones - there are god races of varied power for each race in the present universe. Please feel free to create your own god races, as I may be able to introduce them to the RP.
There a couple of rules for creating god races:
The ARA has been restored as the Vetaron Confederacy, so we cannot refer to it as the ARA. However, to keep things simple, we should say that the Vetaron Confederacy has allied with us in light of the recent invasion.
The whole Hydrogue race is from the saga, as are the Ildirans and the Faeros and the planet Theroc, which is home to the original Nira. I am currently reading the series, which should help explain my fascination, Adar.
Really!? I should read this saga of seven suns...
...also, Nira speaks in Italics because Hydrogue (I believed) communicate through telepathy.
*At the Vetar Confederacy, Cryxis convines the NGU to plan an assult against the Othniel and diminishing Saiv Empire...*
Council member: "Even in the state they are, there is no way we can-"
Council member: "That is enough, Nathan! Cryxis...what you ask of us is to fight in a war that which no longer concerns us. The Saiv are gone, Peace is to be had..."
Cryxis: "No, lord Yen'ri of the Tau'ri. That is not acceptable. The Ildiran have returned, their ships prepped, ready to fight, and you do not aid? These Saiv are still a threat-"
Yen'ri: "The more reason to convine peace, now! They cannot hurt us, now they shall have no choice-"
Cryxis: "Then what? The Saiv are relentless. They have too much pride in thir blood-"
Yen'ri: "So did the UGA...now look at them..."
Cryxis: "They took all our lands, killed innocents! The Ildiran are here now, now is the chance to strike!"
Nathan: "As I recall, the Ildiran abandoned us..."
Cryxis: "No they did not!"
Caedus: "He is right."
*Caedus walks in with his elite guard. Everyone turns to him*
Nathan: "Caedus...how nice of you to join us. We were just talking about you-"
Caedus: "Can it!"
*The room is filled with the souds of gasps*
Nathan: "I am appaled! You walk in here and tell a member of the Council of Nations to'can it'!?"
Caedus: "I can speak to you in any manner as I please. I am in no allience with your nations anymore. Insted, I join the Intergalactic Allience. alongside the Milky Way Intergalactic Federation."
*The whole room is abuzz with the news*
Yen'ri: "Order, order! Caedus. You know full well that you broke the allience when you fled the system and abandoned us!"
Caedus: "I did not abandon you. I was held up with an uprising of my own. If I did not take care of that matter first, then we wouldn't be talking right now."
Nathan: "I bet. If you didn't flee, we would have won!"
Caedus: "We would be at a stalemate. If you are not going to aid us, then fine. We can take care of the Saiv ourselves. But if we fail, it will be you paying the price..."
*Cryxis and Caedus leave the room along with his guards...*
Caedus: ..."Now what? Our forces are strong, but not enough to completly wipe the Saiv."
Cryxis: "No...we do:
The UGA."
When the UGA was extant, massive mobile colonies were constructed. They were aptly named "Arks". The biggest ship ever seen. When the Saiv blitzed us, the outer colonies were notified. Quickly, the Arks were filled and escaped into the edges of the galaxy. of the twelve constructed, only five made it. Two are located in allied space, both named fittingly "Eartha" and "Luna". One, "Solaris", is under the control of the MWLA. The other two -"Ares" and "Jupiter" - are somewhere on the edge of the Galaxy. The Ships were made as UGA sanctuaries, governed by the territories in which they were located in. If we can find all the ships, we will be able to increase our Navy and Actually win!"
Caedus: "Okay, so how do we find the other two?"
Cryxis: "We already did. A while ago, I sent a scouting party to scan the Outer Rim for any survivors. We found one ship, still with a thriving population in it, however the other was...dead in space. It looked as if it was found by Saiv patrols and attacked. No survivors."
Caedus: "So come on! Let's do this!!!"
TBC!
Correct they can sort of, Nira is a green priest from theroc, that mean human with some telapathic powers.
You should, of added me stating if I abandoned you why would I come back, and take a look on your viewscreen of planet and look how many ships I brought here, do you think now that I abandoned you!?
*Meanwhile, on Techoyan*
Watchman: "Master, our sensors have detected a large UGA colony vessel approaching the eastern fringe."
Othniel: "Are there any escort vessels?"
Watchman: "There are 20 cruisers and 2 destroyers, Master."
Othniel: "In which case a Watchman will lead a fleet to capture it. Bring me Watchman Saleos."
*Othniel patiently waits a few minutes before Watchman Saleos walks through the pressure doors.*
Saleos: "You summoned me, Master."
Othniel: "There is a hostile colony vessel approaching our eastern border. It has an escort of 20 cruisers and 2 destroyers. You are to take a fleet, destroy the escorting ships and seize the colony vessel intact. Take what you need, Saleos - the NGU are unpredictable little bastards."
Saleos: "Aye, master."
*Saleos promptly gathers a large fleet by his sole authority. Now onboard his Tyrant-class Dreadnought, the Nullifier, he orders the fleet to hyperspace to the colony vessel's location. He manages to catch the colony vessel and it's escort completely unawares.*
Saleos: "Bring my ship and our cruisers into the fight and order our destroyers to fire from afar. Bring me that colony ship intact."
*The escort ships fight gallantly as the Saiv ships enter their midst, but the elite Chaplain-Court ships prove too fast and powerful for the relatively primitive UGA craft. The battle ends almost as soon as the Chaplain-Court destroyers bring their artillery to bear. As soon as the escort ships are destroyed, the colony ship surrenders with little resistance and Saleos boards it together with a legion of Chaplain-Court soldiers. Eleven legion soldiers discover and capture the Colony Chancellor in his office in the northern precinct. He is brought before Saleos on the Nullifier by gunpoint.*
Saleos: "I want to make this easy for you. Tell me the location of the NGU headquarters and we will let you live, or stay silent and you will die. What choice will you make?"
Jeshua: "..."
Saleos: "If you do not value your own life, surely you value the lies of others."
*Saleos raises his left hand slightly. A Bridge Commandant instantly recognises the signal and orders the siege guns to be aimed at the colony.*
Saleos: "I do not have mercy, Chancellor. The trillions of people you lead will die in an instant unless you can tell me what I want."
Jeshua: "... I will not co-operate with terrorists."
*Saleos exposes his claws and pushes them against Jeshua's neck.*
Saleos: "I will cut off your head if you blaspheme our-"
Bridge Commandant: "Master, an Ildiran fleet is dropping out of hyperspace!"
*Saleos retracts his claws, pushes Jeshua away and forward kicks him with substantial force, sending him flying across the bridge.*
Saleos: "Someone get him out of my sight; Bridge Commandant, order our ships to initiate evasive manoeuvres. I want that colony vessel to initiate it's hyperdrives and escape to Techoyan. Hold them off until then."
Bridge Commandant: "the colony vessel will be ready to leave in approximately 6 minutes and 27 seconds, Master."
*Cryxis convines with the UGA remenant Council."
UGA Council member: "Where is Johnathan?"
UGA Council member: "Razghul is right, where is Johnathan?"
Cryxis: "Where's his colony?"
Razghul: "Christ..."
*Meanwhile, aboard the Ares, Johnathan quickly tries to jump into hyperspace, only to be inhibited by some unknown force...*
Johnathan: Why haven't we jumped yet?"
Bridge personell: "Sir! Multiple Saiv ships approaching! An entire fleet!"
Johnathan: "Secure the passengers! Have our escorts hold around the colony! Have our shields up and defenses online!"
*One wave of Cruisers, about 15, came within range of the ship's point defense. fortunately for them, the Colony has so many turrets that within a second, the 15 cruisers were reduced to two, limping away with fire and sparks flying out. However, this was using a large section of the ship. One section had about 15,000 guns. But they were only rapid-fire railguns built for anti strike-craft & missle defense. The only thing they had that could stand up to a cruiser was the little number of guass cannnons they had, a few Ion beam turrets, and missile banks. They had less firepower than the Obsidian class, which was a third of it's size. The rest of the Saiv fleet came charging in, launching fighters in squadrons of 10.*
Bridge Personell: "There's too many!!"
Johnathan: "Send a message to any nearby Ildiran or UGA ships to aide in our help!"
Bridge Personell: "Aye-aye, sir!"
Johnathan: "God speed, lieutennant"
*The messagenger is sent. The entire colony ship is attacked by the Saiv fleet. The three Cruisers and Destroyer located within the massive shipyard embedded into the Colony-ship were launched. The Frigate floatilla of 20 was launched, as well. Nevertheless, the Saiv fleet decimated half of the Colony's ship defense. The marine landers could not dock with the colony due to the number of railgun emplacemants. Their fighters were no match fot the turrets, as well. But the Cruisers and Destroyers were resilient to the railgun fire, thus free to bombard the ship with scores of lance beams, Guass Cannon fire, pulse beams, and ion bolts. Regardlessof all the fires burning and holes punched right through the ship, the sheer size of the behemoth kept it together. Dispite that fact, so far thousands have died. for another hallish our, the Colony held. The Saiv destroyed enough railguns to get some marines onto the ship, but it would be a 34 mile trek throug the surface of the ship, which had it's own atmosphere and 50 story buildings. At last, A large Ildiran Fleet came to the aid of the damaged colony ship, eliminating the fleet (a few escape pods ejecting) and recapturiing the space around the Vessel.*
Caedus: "Johnathan, you are late..."
Jonathan: "And you are just in time..."

Aren't Railguns>Gauss Guns? Or at least equal?
Ah, we've just run into conflict with the story line. Perhaps a compromise should be used: The colony escort is destroyed, but the Ildiran arrive and are currently trying to destroy the Saiv within the 6 min 27 sec time limit before the captured colony vessel escapes.
Or we can follow your timeline, Noobsauce.
Also, I'm worried that the Saiv are being destroyed too quickly relative to other races. Especially, these are Chaplain-Court soldiers, elite of the old empire, so most races will have extreme difficulty in destroying them. Not impossible, but extremely difficult.
I think we should take ideas from Sins - particularly the TEC battleship.
I have a better idea: LAZORZ!!!!!!
From sandwich crafting to warzones to the UN Security Council, lasers can resolve everything! I'm with you every step of the way, Samurye!
Noobsauce, am I right in saying that the name of the colony vessel is a reference to Ares, the Greek god of the essence of combat, and that the underlined word 'power' is a reference to the Powers in Pseudo-Dionysius's heirarchy of angels?
____________________
(This is one alternative to the storyline. I'm hoping the rest of you will approve)
*The intense firefight rages on in the space around the Ares. NGU stormtroopers attempt to capture the Ares but suffer heavy losses against the elite Saiv footsoldiers. Outside the vessel, the mighty ships of the Chaplain-Court slug their way through each and every NGU ship, forcing the NGU to call in reinforcements constantly. On board the Nullifier, Watchman Saleos is watching the camera feed from the Ares.*
Saleos: "And you are sure of this?"
Bridge Commandant: "Yes, master, we have a positive ID on Cryxis. We're still trying to work out the identity of the three other individuals.*
Saleos: "Take command of the ship, Commandant. I will be leaving to board the Ares.*
*Saleos leaves the Nullifier and boards the Ares. He makes his way to Cryxis' last known location where he runs into Cryxis, Darth, Yin and Samurye.*
Darth: (activates his lightsaber) "There he is! We must take him down together!"
*Saleos quickly draws out a rifle and shoots Cryxis in the chest armor, which saved his life but could not stop him flying backwards. Unnoticed by Saleos, Yin had wallridden to him and now attacked him with her katana. As fast as she was, Saleos manages to react by drawing out his own blade even faster, effortlessly parrying her aside. Darth swiped at Saleos with his lightsaber, but Saleos ducked and side kicked Darth's shin with enough force to break the bone. Samurye charged Saleos with a wakizashi, but like Yin, was not fast enough and his blade was broken by the sheer power of Saleos' master crafted blade.*
Saleos: "We pulse with the power gifted to us by birth. We are stronger, faster and smarter than any of your races. When we are done here, we will go to exterminate every last human, ildiran, ashi and tau'ri, and there shall be no hope for a different path."
*The Saiv ships succesfully activate their hyperdrives and leave for Techoyan. The Ares follows shortly, taking Darth, Cryxis, Samurye, Yin and a capacity of NGU soldiers with it.*
I actually was going to have that happen, as everyone forgot about the marines still within the ship. The Saiv would have sent another fleet, twice as large to assult the ship. While the Ildirian fleet was preoccupied, the Saiv marines, with more support from the new fleet, worked their way to the Bridge, where they encountered Darth, Cryxis, and Yin, the tree of them coming in the nick of time to prevent the marines from advancing. THEN that fight happened and the supermassive colony was captured. Note this isn't any ordinary colony ship. It itself is a colony, and dwarfs any ship in both Saiv and Ildiran Navys except their Colony-ships (Just to clarify just how massive this ship really is). The downsides of it are that it is relatively weak and extremly slow, weak armor & shields, and takes a long time to charge it's jump drives. A good-sized fleet can easily capture it, however it is extremly resilient due to it's size (It was not made for war).
When I referr to railguns, they are multipurpose weapons capable of reaching high speeds and able to shoot multiple "bullets" in a shower of steel (like autocannons) through a long magnetic rail. They come in the medium multipurpose HYLER version, and massive, kinetic launchers for bombardment missions. Guass cannons are large (not massive) Cannons used as the main anti-ship weapon on many ships. Yhere are the embedded guass cannons located on the Rapier-class frigates, The turreted "Vanguard" turrets on the majority of all UGA ships, and double barreled "Arbiter" cannons located on the flanks of massive ships. If you know how guass cannons work, please post how...
...and what's with samureye alive? Was he somehow re-encarnated?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*With Cryxis and his entorage captured, the three of them wait within a holding cell made to block any of their weapons and powers*
Caedus: "Great...I can't get outside. There's some sort of force barrier."
Cryxis: "They'll use us as trumph cards to play the NGU and MWIF into surrenduring, only to be eliminated..."
Yin: "Have hope, Cryxis. We'll find a way out of this..."
Cryxis: "Hope...heh...what a stupid word..."
Yin: "Cryxis!"
Cryxis: "Hope will only get us killed. It's what killed the UGA, it's what killed many people..."
Yin: "And saved many more! You can't give up hope just because things look bleak! Hope ended a war a long time ago, hope is what your family believed in-"
Cryxis: "And they're all dead!"
Yin: "..."
Cryxis: "Hope is a dream. The only thing that will get us out of this is careful planning and I'm out of ideas! If anyone has a plan, speak now!"
*no one stands nor speaks*
Cryxis: "I see..."

Gauss Guns: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gauss_gun
Thanks for pointing that mistake out. From now on, Samurye's descendant will be taking his place, and he will be named Hiyoshimaru unless Samurye disagrees.
This is from a while back, but can I just point out that having golden eyes is a sign of royalty in the Saiv heirarchy, and so does not apply just to Firaeon but to every male member of the aristocracy. Female members of the aristocracy, on the other hand, have red eyes, so Vivea will have red eyes. The same model does not apply to the 'peasantry' - in this case, males have blue eyes and females have brown eyes. This sort of heirarchy is different also because people born into aristocracy are automatically biologically superior to the non-aristocracy.
Also, despite being around 8,500 years old chronologically, Firaeon and Vivea are just 17 biologically and so it is best to use titles other than 'man' and 'woman'.
*After their defeat, Yin, Hiyoshimaru, Cryxis and Darth were soon captured by Saleos and placed in the temporary prison facilities onboard the Nullifier, where they were bound behind electrified bars. Their weapons were confiscated by Saleos, who decided they would be 'a forboding symbol' of Saiv supremacy over the very best of the NGU. Outside the Nullifier, the Chaplain-Court had attempted to find the NGU soldiers still aboard the Ares, but they remained hidden.
The NGU leaders remained in their cells for 8 minutes before they started to hear noises through the wall. These distant clanging noises came closer and closer, and then the wall suddenly exploded, sending shards of molten metal and twisted pipes scattering across the cell block. Firaeon, wearing metal shoulder guards and a dark red cloak adorned with many golden symbols, walked through the hole that had appeared, followed by Vivea, wearing curved shoulder guards and a dark green cloak adorned with white symbols. The two lovers, though engaged in battle, smiled at an awaited empty room, but soon noticed the NGU leaders in their cells and regrettably turned their attention to them.*
Vivea: "Cryxis, don't be alarmed, he is not here to finish the job."
*Firaeon uses his mind to bend the bars of each cell and free the NGU leaders.
Firaeon: "I killed your family, and for that I am utterly sorry, but your woe is for another time. We have not abandoned our people, nor will we abandon yours."
Vivea: "You will not have seen us, but we flew into the Nullifier's hangar just as it was activating it's hyperdrives. We came both to rescue you and to part our secrets with you."
Firaeon: "Earth is not gone, Cryxis. The Saiv Empire has hidden the entire planet from your sensors, but as Judge Magisters, we were authorised to know this. However, there is a harrowing dilemma: we have seen an Omen tablet headed straight for Earth. Cryxis, that tablet contains the Omen's sword; the Sword of Annihilation. The spirit must not retrieve it or Earth will be reduced to the stardust that birthed it."
*The Nullifier makes a light groaning sound*
Vivea: (To Firaeon) "The ship must have landed. That means..."
Firaeon: (Turns to the NGU leaders) "I am sorry, but we must leave now. Here, this is a map showing the location of your soldiers on board the Ares."
Cryxis: "... this isn't a sketched map. Where'd you get it?"
Firaeon: "Sea turtles, mate, sea turtles. Saleos will be coming for you now. Be ready."
Vivea: "레거시 모두 우리에."
*Firaeon and Vivea leave through the hole they made in the wall.*
Wait, descendant? Where did this guy come in?
Well, you know girl that you dated a some time, basicly she got pregnant and you did know that, now she gave birth, we knew about it but you did not.
Note: Earth was destroyed, but was reformad into New Earth, Named Damigh (or whatever you want to call it) by the Saiv
*Cryxis, awestruk of the news, does not move from his spot*
"I killed you familly, for that I am utterly sorry..."
"Earth is not gone...was reformed by Saiv..."
"We came both to rescue you and to part pur secrets with you..."
Caedus: "We have to move! The ship's alarms have set off!"
Cryxis: "..."
Yin: "Come on!"
"Utterly sorry...Earth is not gone..."
Caedus: "Cryxis!!!"
"Earth is not gone..."
*Cryxis is slapped by Yin. He snaps back to reality*
Cryxis: "Whaa..."
Caedus: "GOD DAMMIT CRYXIS YOU SILLY BASTERD! LET'S GET MOVING!!"
Cryxis: "Right..."
*The Four of them run out of their holding cell. they quickly make their way to the hangar bay, slicing and shooting any marine in their way. They get to an awaiting transport, where they escape. The large prison transport explodes in a miraculous collapse. They jump to hyperspace, unknown to the Saiv fleet, believing they were a regular transport."
Hyroshimaru: "Great, now what?"
Caedus: "The Saiv has one UGA colony, 520 marines, and about 74,000 civilians hostage. They're going to use them as playing cards, and a straight flush, too."
Yin: "Cryxis, you have a plan?"
Caedus: "Look, we are all....we are all a bit confused, and still have a lot of questions to ask, but right now saving that ship and all the prisoners takes top priority!"
Caedus: "'sigh'...we're going to have to make a plan ourselves. Now, set a course to my Fleet around the Hyrio system. We're going to plan an invasion..."
"Utterly sorry..."
"Reformed..."
His eyes were different. They were red. And Earth...reformed?
...If you truly are sorry, then tell me why, you fucking bastard...
Cryxis: "WHY DID YOU KILL MY FATHER!!!!"
*Cryxis punches the steel wall in front of him, cracking his hand and caousing it to bleed. Caedus and Hyroshi hold him back to prevent him from punching the wall again*
------------------------------------------------------
*Firaeon hears the echo of Cryxis' words. He feels the fire burning, as hot as a star, as bright as a supernova*
Firaeon: "I'm...sorry, Cryxis...it was my fault...I should have been more careful...
...around him..."
*Firaeon flashbacks to a great hall, illuminated in a purple-red haze. It is an ancient temple, and a whirling vortex is before him. He is kneeling before it, as a great, booming voice echoes from the trans-dimentional gate*
????: "Firaeon, it is so good to see you at last. Such a fine warrior, with eyes as red as the sun of Ravion..."
Firaeon: "It is a great honor to hear that from you...
...m'lord..."
*A face appears within the vortex, with eyes as gold as fire. The Emperor's face...*
Firaeon: "...but I am not as nearly as great as you, o' great Omnipotent One. I am but a humble servant to the great God-Emperor. His flaming sword and shield. May you wield me as you see fit and tell me what you ask of me..."
Emperor: "I forsee this great empire, an empire I built with literally my own hands. The Saiv... shall fall...and I ahall too...unless you do something about it..."
Firaeon: "Tell me thy wish, o' God-Emperor of the Saiv. Thy will be done..."
I was naive at the time. A true believer in the God-Emperor's will. Tuly foolish. I would do anything he asked of me...at least, so I thought...
Emperor: "I wish for you to eliminate all lifeforms within that system. I want no plant of animal life present, sentient or otherwise..."
The slightest bit of hesitation, the thought that crossed my mind sealed my fate: Doubt. Doubt in the God-Emperor's Judgement...
Firaeon: "..A-all life?"
Emperor: "Yes. I want all life...eliminated."
Firaeon: "Yes sir. Thy will be done-"
Emperor: "But I want to be sure you do the job without any hesitation. That is why...I have chosen you as my...temporary...vessel."
Firaeon: "What?"
Emperor: "Think of it as an honor. You, the living vessel of the God-Emperor himself...you shall be renowned...and, I will ensure that the plan goes off...
...without mercy..."
That is all I remember. But when our bodies molded together, I was able to peer into his mind, to see his true intentions. They were...horrible. I learned that the Saiv were doomed from the start, and about the Ark...the source of creation. When I woke up, I was still in the Temple, but the vortex was gone, and I was told that we were close to eliminating all life. I was unaware of what happened, untill Vivea told me what had happened. It was then that images from what happened while I was inactive came poping in my mind. The fire, the ashes and dead bodies...the destruction of a planet...the little boy that would grow up wanting to kill the man who killed his father: me....Cryxis, I...
Firaeon: "...forgive me..."
P.S: I did not know that the Guass Cannon was another name for the Coilgun. So Guasscannon>Railgun
...another interesting thing about guass canons: build a mile-long tube, you can launch a spaceship into space within a few seconds. Downside: Massive amounts of energy; probably needs 5 fusion cores powering it.
P.P.S: Cryxis meets Hyroshimaru in the prison transport [He was captured trying to do recon for NGU: Current (physical) leader of the UGS]. He and Yin are found out to be lovers.
Ebrithil Tal'anth, aboard his flagship Edoc'sil, awaits the galactic display to be brought to full power. He had just been ordered to perform an out-borders patrol with his assault fleet. As the Galaxy Map came online, he studied it for a moment, his course already programmed in, and looked for possible ambush points. His course would take him just around the edge of the center of the galaxy, skirting the "no-fly" zone of the Core.
He moves some of the points around, ultimately ending in a longer voyage, but at least avoiding the obvious ambush possiblities. He then slung the mainly ceremonial - but just as deadly - Echani Ritual Brand across his back. The ritual brand was a two-bladed sword that was originally used by the Echani race on a planet near the Ashi homeworld. When put in use, it could be mistaken for a complex dance, were the wielder not methodically cutting his or her enemies to ribbons. It also had a strong cortosis weave - a relatively new addition to the ancient blades - that kept the carbon-steel blade from being cut in two by a lightsaber.
after settling into his command chair, Tal'anth gives the order, and his fleet jumps into hyperspace.
* * *
The fleet drops out of Hyper, immediately activating their stealth generators. only four X-303 cruisers are left uncloaked - they being the only ships in the fleet without stealth capabilities. They immediately launched their fighters and bombers, even before their sensors began turning out readings.
Aboard the Edoc'sil, the sensor readings came up on Tal'an's display. The contact board remained green, showing that there was not a single non-fleet contact within range. Tal'anth let his mind wander as the fleet turned to make their next hyper jump, fighters and bombers redocking. They jumped through several points, each time recieving nothing on the sensors.
The patrol continues, making several hyperspace jumps to allow their scanners to check for hostile contacts before moving on. On the fourteenth jump, however, they approach the center of the galaxy, commonly reffered to as the "Core" by the Ashi fleet. The emmisions from the mass of stars interferes with sensors somewhat, forcing the fleet to remain in realspace for longer than the norm.
It was on the fifteenth jump that they ran into trouble. They jumped in right on top of a Saiv patrol. The routine of stealthing and lauching fighters had become routine quickly, and so it was done so very quickly. Ten seconds later, when the sensor readings came in, the sonsor officer shouted, "I've got contacts! One capitol ship and fifteen escorts, not including likely tenders."
"Roger that, all ships, hold fire until they fire first. X-303s, power up shields and go weapons hot." Tal'anth ordered.

The Emperor has white irises and black surrounding tissue.
Perhaps the Emperor should exist as an alter ego rather than a whole individual. This alter ego should be somehow bound to the Omen, whereby destroying the Omen will remove the alter ego, giving Firaeon the freedom he craves with Vivea. Until then he could be subject to periodic attacks in which he turns horrribly evil.
Firaeon is a male member of the aristocracy, so he has golden eyes. Vivea is the person I detailed as having red eyes because she is female. Anyway, the Ravion star is (or was) yellow.
This is the state of the galaxy in the year 3036:
Note that Earth has not been claimed by the Othniel Consortium to maintain it's secrecy.
*In the main hangar of the Nullifier, Firaeon and Vivea prepare the Cynder for flight.*
Vivea: "Have you calibrated the thrusters? They were a bit jerky last time."
Firaeon: "Yes. We should set off now. The Silver Child will not remain in his bonds for long."
Vivea: "We must trust the NGU leaders to stop the Omen, as we cannot be there. We have faith in them and that is all we need."
Firaeon: "Faith that we will be free... someday, Vivea, someday we will see the living planets of Alchera Sector, and the floating gardens of Yail Oronis. These things we promise to each other."
Vivea: "Freedom lies in the hands of demons. We must seize it from them."
*The two lovers jump into the cockpit of the Cynder. They take the time to kiss passionately before takeoff.*
Orodum is doing what I planned on happening: The Ashi Sultanate, honoring the shared connection between the now MWIF and Ildiran Empire, breaks away from the NGU and becomes it's own independant state, allying with the IA (Intergalactic Allience). The remainaing NGU agree to form one nation, as the four original nations (The darkninjas are still evil, Shanna Rhei neutral) as States of the NGU. The MWIF, still forming, await on the border of the Ashi Sultanate (They can be represented by the UGA, or change the name to MWIF, but not the color). I tried stating that the Emperor had golden eyes (and Firaeon had Red) to hint that Firaeon was possesed by the Emperor during the Earth invasion, explaining why Firaeon had no remourse during the invasion, and why he acted so ruthless. Cryxis did not see this in Firaeon's eyes, not the same look. He will bump into the Emperor (if he's still alive) and see the same eyes, and realize that it was he who killed his father...
Cryxis is not going to give up his life-long ambition that easily...
*With the Remenant fleet standing by in the Hyrio system, along with the 3rd and 5th fleet of the Ildiran and 2nd fleet of the Ashi, Caedus and the Admirals of all the fleets try to plan their Invasion of Techoyan, where the prisoners are being held...*
Remenant Admiral: "How are we going to sneak in undetected? Techoyan is well within the center of Saiv space, there is absolutely no way we can reach in without being noticed."
Ashi Admiral: "We shall create a network of Darksaber-II ships, wchicl will create a cloaking field that will reach well within Saiv territory. Then, whatever distance we still have to go, we gun it straight for Techoyan."
Ildiran Admiral: The cloaking field will become too unstable, and some of our ships will be toobig for it."
Caedus: "So we send the smaller ships, go in a thin line as to conserve power on the Darksabers and make a more stable tube. We get the Saiv's attention with everything that is smaller than a Battlecruiser we have, and launch all the larger ships once they got their attention"
Cryxis: "I'll head the Floatilla..."
*The group of men turn to Cryxis, who just walked into the meeting room*
Caedus: "Are you sure?"
Cryxis: "My ship is preped and ready to go. Admiral Tyler, Hold your fleet back untill the signal is given."
Adm Tyler: "Aye-aye, sir. The Johnson is ready on your signal."
Cryxis: "Caedus, you too. Stay here untill I give the signal"
Caedus: "Right."
Ashi Admiral: "Cryxis, We are expecting another fleet coming in, it is led by Orodum himself."
Cryxis: "Tell him what is happening. When the signal is given, we shall take Techoyan....
We shall start with the FLoatilla. They shall assult the three shield stations in orbit of the planet. All light carriers are to launch their fighters and bombers. I, too will join the fight in my fighter the RavenHawk. We only need two of the stations destroyed. Only when either two of them are gone or the enemy calls for reinforcements is when we give the signal. You will have ten minutes to get here before we are in trouble. Once all enemy fleets are destroyed, every lander, transport, and surface ship shall assult the capital, as well as send a fleet to capture the Ares and release the prisoners. I will have someone liberate the Ares, maybe Yin and Hyroshi, or Orodum once he gets here. I will lead the assult on the surface, with Caedus aiding me. Tyler, you will open the Johnson's arms and bombard the surface with the Kinetic Launchers.
Adm. Tyler: "Understood, sir"
Cryxis: "Today, we end this war..."
All: "YEAH!!!!"
*All ships start forming up, the Darksabers jumping into their positions...*
TBC.
Firaeon was not possessed by the Emperor during the invasion of Earth because the Emperor had not yet come through the portal. The psychology of a Saiv is very different to ours, notably because they already know the ultimate purpose of their race (which I will never say) unlike our race. Firaeon's mainstream ego was taking the stage in the invasion of Earth, and like every Saiv, it's a wierd one. Also, the Emperor is not alive, unfortunately - he perished in the disaster at New Ravion.
With the Omen, the Star Child and the Watchmen running round, it's best to resist the temptation to slap Firaeon round the head and do one.
I'm updating that map as of posting.
a bit of clarification on the Darksaber-IIs and Athenas- Their stealth system is a network of antenae/diodes that pick up energy signals coming toward the ship (light, radar, heat, etc.) and emit the exact opposite wave, thus canceling out the energy. to do this, the quantum computer (that's what it'd require) needs to know the exact hull shape of the the ship being shielded, and the antennae array must be placed directly on the hull of said ship.
obviously, this is a ton of information, especially when running algorithims that find the exact specifications for the wave to cancel out the reflection that must be fully computed before the energy has hit the hull and passed by the antennae again.
now, if you want to change this for the sake of the story, then I'll be fine with that. but that was how I had intended the stealth to work in the original D&S Show.
one question: anyone mind giving me a quick rundown of the dif alliances? the NGU I kind of now about - it's the UGA and Ildiran, right? I haven't really figured out what the MWIF is, or the IA
anyone?
The IA stands for Intergalactic Alliance, but I'm not sure about it's members (ask Noobsauce). The MWIF is the reformed UGA, but I'm not sure about the acronym (ask Noobsauce).
I have absolutely no problem with the designs from the original D&S show. One of the things I will have to control is the balance between us and the Saiv - They are as old as the universe itself, and their technology is just as grand; they boast devestating ground weaponry and unstoppable spacecraft. The Ildiran and the Hydrogues, technologically advanced as they may be, are still surpassed by the Saiv armies. Adding to this, their warriors are the finest this universe has ever seen.
Not to undermine each of the other races (indeed, I think they're awesome) but our only real chance of a technological victory lies with the Aradians. As they own the entire western half of the universe (we're in the eastern half), an allegance would make a lot of sense, but then it may be more in their interests to simply conquer all of us and not just the Saiv. The only reason the Saiv have survived is because the Aradians no longer know where they are.
Aradian EmpireThe Aradian race are different from the Saiv in many respects. Their god race is only surviving Power (see Three Powers), and it is believed that they can never be fully defeated so long as the Ucori watch over them. Their society is headed by the Arch-Emperor, who is an old frail man in comparison to the Saiv Emperor (simply Emperor, not God-Emperor) and is guarded by his knights. In addition to their inexhaustible armies, they have a hyper-elite paramilitary known as the Space Legion, to which the Arch-Emperor granted the sole existing Seraph-class battleship. Their capital is Ochuriaz, which is basically a massive space city filling most of the empty space in the Tai system. They are slightly more religiously tolerant than the Saiv Empire, so they are less likely to persecute us given the oppertunity.
Three PowersThe Three Powers is the title given to the three most powerful god races, who are the Ucori, the Shade and the Chraia. These races came to be known as the Three Powers after the Ark blessed them with control over life, death and dreams respectively. Now that the Shade and the Chraia are gone, the system is out of balance.
LifeThe power of life was granted to the Ucori so they may fill reality with vibrance. In the beginning, the Ucori created beautiful creatures of incredible dynamism. But the Ucori whispered to mortals 'life is your pleasure', whereby causing mortals to begin creating malign creatures like the Omen and the Silver Child through pride. For this unperceivable act, the Ark cast them out into the Shadow Realm (our plane of reality).
DeathThe power of death was granted to the Shade so they may continue the eternal cycle and mantain the natural order of things. At first, the Shade relieved the withered and the dying of their burdens. But the Shade whispered to mortals 'death is our gift to the weak', and mortals did try to wipe the weakest of their kind from existence. For this unforgivable act, the Ark cast them out into the Shadow Realm.
DreamThe power of dreams was granted to the Chraia so that life and death could be understood as peace. In the beginning, the Chraia taught mortals to learn themselves through dreams. But the Chraia whispered to mortals 'you are everything' and all were free. For this intolerable act, the Chraia were cast out into the void by the Ark.
