I've been playing sins for quite a while now and have been using different mods, however Sacrifice of Angels 2 has easily been the best I've played. Fantastic job!
I made a map for sins 1.16 recreating the dominion war including the major players on both sides and iconic locations. I called it 'Fortune Favours the Bold' and i uploaded it onto wincustomize although it might take a few days to turn up.
If anybody is interested i can upload it somewhere else.

I once saw a map that had the entire federation map which included the romulans, klingons, and the dominion, and the planet names are already the once in the federation and it also included a map of the romulan empire, and an other map which is the klingon empire

Hah! I dont even have a copy of my own mod yet. I still have 0.03c, and havnt touched it since i sent the stations i worked on. There is much i need to catch up on.

I aquired a new more powerful 64 bit laptop dirt cheap that puts my old desktop to shame. It isnt fast compared to the latest and greatest of machines, but it serves its purpose just fine for me. It can play sins on max settings with little lag. In fact i donated my desktop to my son since it is damn near useless to me now. This laptop is now my primary puter. So now i may be able to mod while i am on the road (time permitting).

Nice built in surround sound capable realtek chip
Same intel graphics chip my old laptop had, just up to date. Has built in 128 megs ram, but can share over 1 gig from system ram.

Im gonna rant for a little bit here. I just got done looking at the ModDB blogs, and podcasts about SoA 2, and i am now pissed off. Its bad enough when the general population bitches about a free, but buggy mod that we busted our ass's to put together, but the ModDB crew just went ballistic on this mod. Saying stuff like why bother. Like Star Trek hasnt been done before. They said it is just sins with trek ships in it..Why do people bother to keep doing stuff like this. Yada yada. They obviously didnt play the latest playable version of the mod (0.03c was the last downloadable version before the 1.16/1.02 update). Why do we do this? Well i can answer it in 2 ways..
1) I just happen to LIKE star trek. Sure it isnt everyones cup of tea, but there IS a fan base out there. Otherwise nobody would be bitching that the mod isnt "perfect", or cracking "why dont you add this, or why dont you do that". We do this because we like the genre despite our heated nit picky debates over whats canon, and whats not. ModDB also dissed Star Wars mods too. Im sure Eviljedi will get a kick out of that.
2) Because we CAN do it.... I dont see anyone else stepping up to the challenge of making a "good" trek game. I have serious doubts about ST: Online. We have seen "professional" game companys just trash, and make a total parody of the genre. They cant do it right. They cant do it without Star Trek look totally absurd. So we are doing it ourselves.
ModDB is one to talk about "Been there, Done that, Its all old hat". Well lets just take a look at all of the HUNDREDS of Half Life 2 mods, and the THOUSANDS of 1st person shooter mods for the overwhelmingly majority of the mindless frantic point, and click 1st person shooter games hosted there. Geee how many WW2, Modern warfare, and "realistic combat" mods do we have.... Yaaaawn, Been there, Done that.
I am going to pull the mod from ModDB asap. Let them stay obsessed with HL2 mods, and people that have absolutly NO life other than speaking 3 different coding languages, and can probably write their own games in their sleep. There obviously is no room for the "hobbiest" there. SoA 2 apparently is not "professional" enough to grace their presence.
It's unfortunate they feel the need to be that way tbh they should know better working for a site dedicated to mods they should know the hard work that goes into creating something like this, and what did they expect a full conversion feature packed mod in a few months?,a good mod can end up taking years and you have to start somewhere replacing the standard SOSE units with star trek ones is just the first step, had they bothered to check they would of seen that you and your team are working hard on making the game more authentic and changing the game as much as you can to reflect star trek more accurately, as indicated by the upcoming entrenchment release.
I can't understand why they would dis conversions like this one, the last official star trek RTS I can recall was star trek Armada 2 that was about 8 years ago now, would they prefer no one do anything star trek related for another 8 years? and hope developers like Bethesda fill the void? after they used the license just to cash in with star trek Legacy I was most disappointed in them. So we need people willing to use there free time to create something like this, other wise we would just end up with nothing at all.
Anyway I already commented on what a great job you and your team are doing in another thread, so if people want to whine about a mod that isn't finished yet or would rather wait several years until it is fully completed, then they can just wait. But I personally am pleased with what you have done so far and I am sure the upcoming entrenchment release will be another great step forward and I look forward to playing it. Bty congrats on the new laptop sounds like it will fill your needs nicely for sins modding.

Wow, what the hell is MODDB talking about? There is so much absolute garbage on that site why would they attack a greak mod for a great game.
That really upsets me. Stress- who gives a S*&$ you guys rock, we all love the mod. I am eagerly awaiting your mod more than ANY actual game coming out this year (I say that knowing full and well that Diablo 3 will not be out until 2011...
You didnt read the part that said i dont have my own (up to date) mod did ya Shimmer is the only one right now that can give sync permissions so we will have to wait on him.
Im not worried about ModDB they can have their elitist crap. Ill just find a new host.

First off, I want to say that I am sorry to hear about the way Moddb treated the mod Stress. I always check that site for updates (after I come through these forums here), just to make sure if anything new gets posted. So what do those turds have to say, they don't have to play it if they don't like it, but to specifically flame you about is is true BS. I just want to say this mod is the ONLY reason I bought SoaSE (not because it's a bad game, but like other people have said it's one of the only good Star Trek games out there).

for you beta testers i'm working on the klingons movement first, pay special attention to the brel! she the test bed for it
The brel isn't having any movement problems except when it's trying to go around a planet or asteroid. There's some jumping/humping that might not be fixable due to the fighter movement. It's not really noticable unless you zoom in and didn't really affect gameplay.
A few things you can add/modify if you guys have time:
Frigate_KlingonD4Preditor.entity:
1. change ability:0 "" to ability:0 "AbilityExplore" so I can just send them off to scout.
2. change entity name to Frigate_KlingonD4Predator (pointless and annoying I know)
Add colonize ability to one of the earlier caps (carrier, whatever). I hate making the colony frigs. (Emperor is 6 labs!)
Add some background (light gray) to desc hud. It's hard to read in the Fleet logistics menu and other research menus.
Random thoughts:
1. Fighter movement as done with Mansh00ter and SoA2 aren't perfect and tweaking will take a lot of time/effort. They're cool to watch if you have the time (i.e. you're waiting for resources and want to zoom really in)
2. Tech Tree and Abilities are crucial for balance and playability. I'd much rather have these balanced and fleshed out even w/ the standard OK corral type shoot em ups.

Yes i've suspended your account because you keep downloading over and over and over and its interrupting me and loki while working with the mod, we've let it go before but not anymore you download once and update as needed, why you keep downloading the mod over and over i don;t know, but i'm stopping it here and now!
