Quite sad for such a promising mod project to DIE over what is basically a difference of opinion and a resulting temper tantrum.
Colored shields? Ships move to fast? People get "fired" over this?
Fanboys, when it comes to Star Trek, are normally called "Trekkies". I, for one, am proud to be lumped into that generalization. Accusations of "stupid suggestions" notwithstanding.
So Stress hasn't had time to work on the mod, and gets pissed that the progress that OTHER PEOPLE have made in his absence is not what he wanted, and kills the mod as a result. Classy.
After drama like this, we may as well give up any hope of any future release. Mod projects are fragile and I highly doubt this one will survive now.
I still play 0.03c fairly regularly. I guess I'll just be happy with that. Bookmark deleted.
Why don't the other people who were working on the mod give whatever they have to the 7DS mod team, they were planing on having the feds and borg anyway. Huh, It looks like 7DS is now the #1 mod when it releases v 2.5 for entrenchment. It is just gobbling up all of the smaller mods.
I find this news disappointing. Oh well.

I applaud you Stress, good move. I'm a tekkie, but I hate what those other people did to it too. I mean really, ships being destroyed in one shot? That is NOT real Star Trek. A couple of klingon frigates could take down a sovereign class ship. How realistic is that? Anyway, I hope you can make the New Mod better. I will eagerly await its release.

second lol i know the 7ds mod is going to have the borg and feds in it as i GAVE Danman the majority of my borg models so techinically my borg will live on HOWEVER if you want to see what i did to the borg (doing them justice) either
A, you will have to wait for a release of this mod end ish of summer as stress said
B, wait untill 7ds releases its version which btw the borg ships are old (from my old 3rd party addon)
C, WAIT some more ! TO SEE THE NEW IMBA BORG !

OK, Stress, i can understand if it's not exactly like you say, but if you're such a prefectionist, then why did you ask for help? And as long as I'm pissed enough to ask... Stress, if this mod is "just for you", and you're "not building it for anyone but yourself", like you said, then why in the hell have you been hyping everyone else up so much??? You adertise this thing as the best, most incredable mod Trek ever built... blah blah blah... then you get all mad when people start to ask about it... Dude, what did you expect??? If this was all for you, and you weren't doing it for anyone else, and were such a basket case about people asking, then why did you post anything about it to begin with??
I'll be really honest, I'm GLAD something came up and I couldn't end joining the team... you're too much of a pain in the ass. If you were an employer I'd have walked out on you within a week. I'll finish an entrenchment version myself... I have all the models, and remember I know where you hid all the early Borg Ships, I'll make my own version, and I'll keep it just to myself.

the .3c version was way to fast admitedly, and they had fixed that long ago, I was watching vids on the ships, fights between caps and smaller ships could last alot more then seconds.. whoever posted that was literaly not up to current standards on the mod, Stress included his comments sound like .3c comments irony given its his own mod.
His movement complaint alone points to an early beta of the mod that was stated as running to fast on movement and slowed down long ago as well.
the comments that "this will be done my way" from him.. personaly star trek was never stationary.. you want a homeworld experience.. then you dont want a trek experience.. homeworld ships hardly moved.. and Sins basic form.. has ships slugging it out while faster ships stand still.. that is not how it should be.. Tweak thier movement sure.. slow it down some.. but in no way would a defiant stand still and shoot.. its not what the ship was in the show or in any trek game ever made.
Looking at prior versions of the mod.. it felt like SoaSE with models swapped to trek ships.. played like SoaSE with trek ships.. and even acted that way.. the screens and vids of this beta after the tweaking .. felt like a stratagy trek game done correctly.. the older versions "pure" from Stress's comment.. were Armada1 .. pure and simple.. Dont like it .. go back and play Armada.. you claim to hate it yet want to recreate the experience on a large scale.
Oh and btw.. your posting on a public forum you have 0 control over... since you aint running this on a private site.. your part of the comunity.. host your own and you can say the whole "my mod for me" attitude.

this mod ain't done yet! Stress i know your upset but um i haven't left the mod, i would have said so! Just like you i have other responsibilities in life that needed my attention like work. Working 6 days a week 12 hour days is not fun. Major reorganizations in a business will do that, besides i'm not letting go of all the work i just put in. So for moment i'm going to keep going and put in new material and updates when i can. You can call me if you have any objections to this, you have my number!

Maybe what has, de facto, occured here is that the MOD team was not fired by Stress, but that Stress was fired by the MOD team! I am kidding of course, but if all of Major Stress' original work was not included, just that of the team, then the team could rebuild the missing parts and make their own mod, sans Stress. What is stopping that?

Actually no. The models i made for the mod are a fraction of what is there. The rest of the models are from 3rd party artist from the SFC/BC community (used with permission). The models texture should have who made it listed.
I Apologise to the community for my little "shit fit" earlier. It was uncalled for, and pretty childish after re-reading it lol.. I could make some kind of stupid excuse for what was said, but TBH there is no excuse for what was said. I was very pissed off. Plain, and simple. If people worked for me i would fully expect them to walk out after that rant, and understand why.
All of it is because of RL issues, and what we have no free time to do. Unfortunetly it spilled into the community. It is unfair to hold this project back because of my RL issues (and i have many). I was wrong to diss what others have done. I wasnt thinking at the time. As i said it is no excuse. It shouldnt have happened.
I do not expect any forgiveness, nor do i want any. What is done is done. I'm finished here. It is obvious that i need to retire from the project, and go crawl under a rock.
I am turning over all that i have done over to Darkshimmer. He is much better at "PR" than i am Darkshimmer is the project lead now. I am done with SoA 2. Ill of course help out by making models if i have time, but i cant run this thing for obvious reasons.
All the current models i made for the mod the SoA2team full permissions to use. It is why i made them to begin with... to be shared.
I see another topic has been opened. Ill ask the mods to close n lock this one.
