nice, but what is in the gameinfo file?
You know Mooster, you have amazing timing. I didn't see this post before I started working on it, but when I went to post my "tweaks" I saw your suggestion right there asking for something like what I was submitting (call it lucky timing I guess).
The gameinfo file contains all of the changes I made to the indiviual races, (instructions for where they draw their ship names and their AInames from). Without these all the changes I made to the english STR file (i.e. the new ship names and the AI names for the races), would be useless, because the original mod riles for the player races don't point them to the right strings.
Hope that makes sense.
just a small update from me
allmost finished building all the borg space stations
all the borg ships are in and adding abiliites soon, since the majority of this was allready done in my 3rd party mod just a simple process of updating the files to entrencment standards !
well, there goes a planet for sure, unless the planet they are attack have ships in them.....................and ship yard...maybe even a fleet...
perhaps when using borg raids, I suggest a single cube or sphere at most cause one is hard enough to kill, and if you are going to send a swarm please do send weaker ones.........
What do you mean? The borg will now be a fully playable and unique faction. The composition of the attacking fleet is up to whoever is playing as the borg.
Hey Loki, are you and the rest of the team looking for any more help with the mod? I haven't worked on anything prior (I know that's probably not something I should lead with saying), but I am currently going to school for a degree in Game and Simulation Programming, and I thought it might be good to get some experiance under my belt. Plus this mod is so awesome (since I thought the game schematics for SoaSE fit perfectly with the Star Trek motif).
Just let me know.

Yeah, not to rush you guys or anything, but are we looking at days, weeks, or months before the Entrenchment release? I ask not to set any kind of release date to hassle you about, I just want to know how often I should be checking back here for a new version! I'm looking forward to it.
It's gonna be a while. I mean it's probably not going to be a 6 month wait or anything like that. It's certainly going to be longer than days. Most likely longer than weeks.
They haven't given any eta's yet because one of them is one the road (for work I think?) and it's not happening until that person (Stress if memory serves) can get home to his PC. I believe he said he would be home 'soon'.
I'm not sure how long it will be. I can say it will most likely take longer than a few days lol. Yes, Major Stress is on the road atm and he has all the work for the structures so if we do release a demo before he's back it will most likely not contain trek structures.
We have been progressing but we also need to update the mod so it works in Entrenchment 1.02, we still have some balancing to work on, and a few other things that need to be smoothed out.
As soon as an update is available we will post it. We aren't aiming for perfection with the next release but we'll make sure it's playable and enjoyable, and hopefully free of the bugs that have popped up.
Thanks for the update guys! Keep up the good work - I think I can speak for everyone here when I say that we're all really looking forward to playing it.

Currently if you alter advent for federation, the dominion will get it, I was wonder will the research be seperated?
In a previous beta version (before the switch to Entrenchment) we did have the federation with their own research. I'm sure that will be added back in when we get around to it.

for example, if I alter any file that has psi at the end dominion would also get it and the fed never got their own research abilities
such as shields, weapons etc...

ok people seriously what sins races the mod used as templates does not matter
if stress or shimmer had started from scratch creating all the files instead of using the default sins ones as templates the mod would be nowhere near at the stage it is now
so far you only have the ships thus that is why the factions have a "shared tech tree" but they will most likey get race specific tech tress just be patient !
ps i used the vasari as the borg template (but when they are finished nothing about the vasari will be left in)
I would imigine, none of the structures will be big enough to even house a ship at all, unless you shrink it
