The intrepid is 344 meters. All of the canon mod ships are scaled properly. I went out of my way to make sure of that. They are all scaled according to ex astris scientia'a stats. The only iffy canon ship is the romulan dderidex. it is anywhere between 1000-1300 meters. Currently the mods ship is scaled at 1500 meters which i need to correct.

The mod looks great so far, but i have a question that kinda has nothing to do with it. Im a fan of ST but still relatively new to it and i always wanted to know how advanced the federation is compared to Romulans, Klingons, Breen, and Cardassians.

I think that depends on what period of time are we speaking of. In the chronologically early stages (First Contact shows them), when the humans were about to discover warp propulsion the Vulcans were already sailing through the stars since ages. While on the later years the situation is reversed.

I think every race have their advantages and disadvatages, for example the Romulans and the Klingons are able to cloak their ships, while the Federation cannot (they signed a treaty with other races where they tie themselves not to use cloaking technology, the Defiant in DS9 is the only vessel allowed to use it as it is a concession from the Romulans during wartimes).

The Breen can disable ships, accordingly to what is seen in DS9.

The Borg are the most technologically advanced major race, they know transwarp propulsion and are virtually able to reach every place of the galaxy in relatively few time, plus, they adapt...

Just wanted to post some WIP's of the fed starbase. She is an older model made by Moonraker back in the early days of SFC modding. It has a low poly count, but IMO is far better looking than most of the higher poly SB's. Unlike other "professionally" made, and ridiculously high poly starbases it also has a full interior. It is a WIP because much of the model needs re-working for it to be properly imported to sins without mesh errors.

Ahh, Regeneration. One of my favourite episodes of my favourite Trek. I'll be honest: I am not a fan of the Next Gen trio of shows, particularly Voyager. This mod is still enjoyable, though. LOL! TOS is true trek. Not the regurgitated, boring, and overdone plotline berman, and braga crap. Least JJ abrams nuked the trek timeline from orbit b4 he hit the reset button.

The ONLY reason i am doing TNG era is because i cannot re-design, and mesh an entire six plus faction TOS fleet from scratch by myself. I originally planned to do a mod based on the SFB universe "Federation, and Empire" game. However i refuse to use the starfleet battles designs. Have any of you seen the old SFB ship designs? they are aweful! tin cans with bolt on warp nacelles, and that is the ROMULAN fleet! It gets much worse when you look at tholians, and the wyn.

Most of the younger generation hate TOS (movies included), and are iffy about TNG. While most of my generation (born in the 60's) hates damn near everything post roddenbury. Why because everyone post roddenbury thinks major plot items MUST include time travel, major technobabble (even in ENT era) to save the day, and a token silicon boobed bimbo with the IQ of lint wearing a catsuit to attract the tween crowd to watch bad writing, repetitive storylines, overused plots, and dry acting.

Sure TOS had its share of very bad moments as well, but we can blame it all on a low 60's budget. It had one thing going for it.. it was Original at the time not a spinoff. No bloody a-b-c-d, or e. It delt with issues no one dared to at the time.

Im pissed that the Ent D crew kicked borg ass (using thier brains not brawn), but gets thier ass kicked by an old Duras sisters d-12 bird of prey.... Nice going killer b's.

Lets not talk about janeways prime directive double standard oh we need to uphold it... oh screw it...oh we need to uphold it.. and how voyager herself is aways squeaky clean, and doesnt have a scratch on her after major firefights, and goes through shuttles like i go through cigarettes with no starbase.. no supply's, no replacement redshirts. Yup fresh out the showroom floor. Equinox never got that lucky.. hmmm. Nice going killer b's

then we got ENT... Lets go "back to the future" Did you know that the killer b's originally intended to use the AKIRA.. UNTOUCHED in full TNG configuration as the nx-01. I am not lying. Thank god the FX crew said please let us work her over 1st. Unfortunetly it still remained an akira wannabe. However that is not what killed ENT. What killed ENT is the shields on a 22nd century ship..err i mean charged hull plating, and the phasers...err i mean phase cannons.., Oh and the photon torpe. oh i mean pho-ton-ic... and the ridiculous xindi that came from nowhere in the trek universe.. with a oh now this is original.. a time travel plotline..aka the temperal cold war. oh, and of course the mandatory silicon boobed catsuited bimbo with the iq of lint.. playing a vulcan no less. The worst part about ENT aside from the inept storytelling was the acting. Worst acting of all the series. Zero enthusiasim and it showed. Manny coto was the shows only saving grace, but he came in way too late. Thank you killer b's for damn near killing trek, and giving JJ abrams the excuse he needed to wipe the timeline from the face of the universe.

Im 16 and I do like VOY DS9 and ENT, i dont really like TNG but TOS is quite good, I have been watching the movies on sci-fi and they arnt as bad as i thought they would be.

TNG is the best for me, mainly because of Picard - Patrick Stewart is a damn good actor and one of my favourites. TOS has its moments, but mostly in the films. I didn't take into the series too much.

DS9 I can't stomach. Its not Star Trek if you ain't going nowhere!

Voyager... meh. For some reason I always wanted to redo Janeway's hair with a good phaser blast.

But the absolute worst is actually the new movie. Oh, it looks fantastic, minus the overabundance of lens flairs, but the story is the same craptastic "bad guy blows up something big then we blow up the bad guy" cliche straight from the best clicheists the Hollywood factory of regurgitated dreams can offer.

Ive watched all the star trek series and movies and what I dont understand about them all is that the federation, klingons, romulans, dominion ect never have a planetry defence worth a dam. Surely if can can stick a dirty great cannon on a starship you can stick one in orbit. in fact you could probably stick several up there and much bigger because you dont have to move them once their in place. The cardys did build terok nor which could at least defend its self, but then gave it to the feds who used to blow away heaps of dominion/cardy ships! Did the feds then think what a good idea lets build defences round all our planets...No, nobody takes the hint so the dominion simply walk in and take betazed....Doh!
