lazerface, I don't know that anyone has actually set a release date. If you've played the Vanilla version from that you can see these guys are going to an insane amount of work to make this look right. I'm just hoping they have it done by the END of summer...lol.
Plus, unfortunately, you have to factor in Entrenchment 1.03 coming out. Now granted this Mod is supposed to be for 1.03... but one can never really know until the upgrade is actually released... that may set things back some too.
It sucks, believe me... I'm dying to play Klingon vs any Star base... but having done my own mods, I can honestly say these guys are INSANE for trying to do this big a conversion. I'm amazed they've come so far without mini dumping everything 100 times over. I definitly understand how long it's going to take...
But trust me, from what little I've heard, it'll be worth the wait no matter how long it ends up being.

VERY cool. But I can't see from that angle what you mean by the lighting being weird. From what I can see the color scheme is got that weird Klingon Green to it just right.
The Bump maps aren't working? That's why it looked so "flat". so to speak. Weird. I'd double and triple check all the numbers first... bump height, etc... before I scrapped it and tried again. Most of the time I had a problem it turned out to be a decimal point off or something else small but annoying and hard to spot. Are your poly's double sided? Could some be flipped around backwards? I've had that happen too, and the bump was actually showing inside the model but not outside. Drove me nuts until I figured out what I was doing wrong.

Anyways i figured it out it was a tangent problem. I made the mistake of remapping the duplicate set of UV's (the tangents) top down instead of leaving them alone. Left alone model works fine.
Normal maps dont really show on this model cause the textures arent exactly "high res". Tho the whole sheet is 1500(something)x1024. I didnt make the model and i dont know who did, but they use a ton of low res textures. I just merged them onto one sheet and re-mapped the model.
I am not the only one who noticed that lately even the vanilla sins ships dont show normals that well since the 1.15/1.02 update.

Whats with the fascination of the armada series? Both A1, and 2 were crap imo in art, design, and gameplay. Some of the worst trek artwork i have seen is in armada, and SFC 3. Dont get me started on Legacy. Between cardassians that are nothing more than scaled up, or down galors, or lets bolt on another nacelle, and call it a new class of ship. To the idiotic "bird beak" romulan starbase of sfc 3. The "professional" games non canon art is uninspired, boring, and in some cases like the SFC 3 rommie starbase outright stupid. Its any wonder the people that made those games could be called professionals. I an amateur, and i do better work. My past models speak for themselves. Even the 3rd party work in the mod has a little of me in it through mesh corrections, optimizations, and some re-texturing. I demand better. Sure the tygokor station i posted above is not up to my standard, but it is a canon station (DS-9 Apocalypse Rising). It will be re-built later after the gameplay work is finished. As will all of the other models.
I have said b4 i wont use anything from armada except maybe borg, but Loki is becoming an experienced modeler in his own right. So we will soon have original borg works.
Our rommie starbase will be unique. Atra made an outstanding design that is both inspired, and veers from the traditional "everything romulan must be shaped like a bird" nonsense. Dont expect bird shaped tankers and civilian craft ether.
The Klingon SB is a 3rd party original work (i think. shimmer picked the model out). I havent seen it in any sfc series. It is kinda sfc 3 style. I personally dont like it, but shimmer does.

That is what has been wrong w/the actual star trek games! They have not been made by people that have any passion for the series. This is the best Start Trek game which is a compliment to you, but kind of a sad statement about the lack of quality from the BIG development teams.

KA= Klingon Academy. One of the "few" Professional trek games that is actually worth something. Way ahead of its time in 2000's standards. Pity new hardware doesnt run it that well. KA, and SFC 1, and 2 were designed by taldren. IMO the only "professionals" that got it right. While "technically" Taldren had a hand in SFC 3. It was Activision calling the shots, and pulling the strings. Since they were the publishers of Armada, and Armada 2 no wonder SFC 3 was a polished turd.
The SoA 2 Klingon starbase was made by a 3rd party author for KA, and is an original work.
Well no matter who did it, it is very pretty and I can't wait to see it in play!!
I don't know if Major Stress wants us to stop posting beta issues in here or not, but since Loki asked us to post any bugs we find with the Borg, I'll continue to post here until my orders are changed.
Anywho, some of your new abilities for the Borg (mainly self repair), aren't working properly. Specifically what I've seen so far, when a ship is constructed, it's self repair doesn't come in as an auto cast, and when set to auto cast, doesn't function at all (other ships will bombard it to death, but it will never cast it).
Also, great job on the Klingon tech tree restructure. Makes more sense now, but some of the abilities are still not at their proper places (namely heavy fallout and ogrov prototype), while other research are not able to be performed (I don't know if you are keeping highly conductive rails, but you can't research it at all).
Other than that, things look great at the moment (freaked me with the Borg when I saw how different they were, but I know you are still working on them).

That's an awesome Klink starbase. Very imposing, unlike the abomination from SFC3 or the atrocious Unity One.
