Maybe I'm sheltered, but the release of Entrenchment has been the best strategy game expansion release I've ever encountered. And for that I want to thank you.
So many companies release expansions for their games that cost THE SAME OR MORE THAN THE GAME ITSELF! I hate that, so thank you for making it $10. A price comparable to what you get: some extras features, new ships, better gameplay etc.
Also thank you for making it so easy to acquire (you can just download it??? WHA!)
Upon hearing about the expansion I was thinking "Man.. I'm going to go and have to look for it in the store and probably pay a bunch of money for it.."
Thank you for that pleasant surprise. Perhaps in the future others will follow your example *cough* blizzard, *cough* microsoft *cough* ea *cough*..
So three cheers for you guys working hard to bring us this awesome game.
Thanks!
Thanks Deceiver
I totally agree with you.
i would not have be minded if IC increased the cost though to keep up with the budget. Thats how good Entrenchment it!
At first i jokingly thought "suck up" but really thanks do need to be said considering the vast amount of threads that have been complaining about the beta and the delays. This game is my first 4X stratagy that I've been introduced to and I must say that it has spoiled me. I've tried looking for games like it but none exist that come close to the combination of game play, interface, ease of use (lack of DRM), graphics (my system is not to specs yet it looks awesome!!) and GREAT community!!! I'm SOLD!!!!!!
GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!!!!!
I think you guys (Stardock/Ironclad) are pounded with so many "FIX THIS!" and "ADD THAT!!" etc. You don't get many thank yous!
so,
THANK YOU
I gotta admit - I bought Sins the week it came out last year, however: Due to MANY circumstances, (work, World of Warcraft, (sorry!), new home hunting, becoming a father...), I only got to play about 5-6 games of Sins before I found I couldn't put in the time anymore.
However - 5-6 games was enough for me to put about 40+ hours of play time in to the game. Well worth the admission price, and I'd only scratched the surface!
I'll be buying the expansion in the hopes of playing more. Why only the hope? Well, that fatherhood thing is still here. But I'm doing it anyway because you put a LOT in to the game and it's a sweet price point! How can I say no?! And even if I never really get to play, I'll be happy with my $10 spent because I fully back what Stardock/Ironclad are doing with the game and its distribution.
Thanks for those previous 40 hours and here's hoping for 40+ more.
I too want to say thank you!! There are many things I like about the game…prior to getting it I was playing CoH almost exclusively and now it’s Sins, which I conservatively play 20+/wk with one or more friends in MP.
The things that I specifically like is the ability to save the game and resume at a later date, it is not uncommon like last night where I was on-line with two friends who had about an hour so at the end we saved the game and coincidentally a third friend got on to the TS server so we resumed a previous game after the other two signed off. The ability to pause a game is also great to handle that unexpected disturbance. Lastly the random map feature allowing for a new game with a slightly different twist every time; I love the game. I’ve been a 4X player for many years and for me this game is better than any of the versions of MoO or Space Empires and I really enjoyed them when they were at the top. So great job on taking 4x to a new level.
BTW I own a copy of all of the GalCiv games and loved them too…however this is really lots better to me.
I remember looking around and seeing this game a few weks before it came out and I thought "Hmm this looks liek a good game" Because I love RTS's and i assumed this would be like it. So when it came out i phoned to all the game stores in my area and none of them had it. So ( this is before i had heard of Impulse ) we decided to take a trip to the states one weekend (I'm from Canada) and I saw the game and I was so excited so I bought it. With me usually i play a game for like maybe a month or two before it starts to get borring but with this game I have yet to be bored. I guess it has to do with all the different mods and updates that keep the game new and fresh. Heck as I'm typing this im installing the Mad Scientist mod
Here here and bump!
+ Eleventy Billion
This game has provided most bang for the buck, ever (except maybe classic doom). I'm just waiting for the next micro-expansion to become pre-orderable, so i can send you some more money
lol..
you said MS.
Windows 7: New Graphics [expansion]
I should have thought of this!Thank you both, Ironclad and Stardock. Ironclad for creating, supporting, and otherwise doing cool stuff for a great game; Stardock for helping them do so. And to both groups, kudos on your customer support / customer policies (whatever you want to call it, not just the 'support@' stuff but the way you guys actually treat us like we're worth something).
yes thanks and congrats are in order for stardock and ironclad. this game is one if not the best game i've played (and i game A LOT). graphics are brilliant, game play is solid and even maxed out my system can play it well (though my rig isnt that weak). continue the great work guys u have a customer for life.
Yes thank you guys....also i know its been said before but stardock i love you beacuse you trust me... no crazy drm and no disc needed i was even surprised i didnt need the cd key to play single player. If other companies held your beliefs than maybe my girlfriend wouldn't hate me beacuse i refuse to install spore on my computer.
I liked Galactic Civilizations and I really didn't think I'd enjoy Sins of a Solar Empire so much. Thank you Stardock and Iron Clad for the many hours of enjoyment I've had and will have with your games in the future. You guys are great!
You guys are also such models in your stance against software protection (among other things). You're levelheaded and reason as both developers and fellow gamers.
I would have to agree for $10 it has made magor changes to the depth of the game.
I have always been a huge fan of thier pre order and join beta idea as well. Gives you a opinion of voicing what you want ingame while being able to test the game for yourself.
So yes Thank You.
and the list goes on.. and on.... and on.... and on.... on.. and on.... and on.... and on.... on.. and on.... and on.... and on.... on.. and on.... and on.... and on.... on.. and on.... and on.... and on.... on.. and on.... and on.... and on.... on.. and on.... and on.... and on.... on.. and on.... and on.... and on.... on.. and on.... and on.... and on.... on.. and on....
someone slap me i'm stuck...
anyways i agree i wouldve thought it'd be a serious undertaking getting entrenchment but it up until now it's all been easy "xcept for the reinstall"
*slap*
yes Ironclade and stardock thank you thank you inrestoring my fate as a gamer
Thanks for your support!
i know im necro-ing this post, but id like to add my voice to saying thankyou for everything Stardock and Ironclad does for the community.
I think alot of the people on the forums (especially in Demigod...) need to wake up and smell the roses, and realise what a good thing they have here.
You definitly have the best and most responsive customer support of any company ive ever had anything to do with, so thankyou!
I wish they would do something to try to encourage people to consider online multiplayer. Such a great game deserves to have far higher online player counts. It would be nice if they could enable auto-download for custom maps and/or select high quality custom maps and make them available as optional Impulse downloads or just make them part of the patches. (Why not? If people will make maps for your game for free and give you permission to freely distribute them, why not enhance your product?)
I would like to add my thanks on this forum
Thanks guys for a wonderful and fun game
Indeed agree entrenchment was the best this that happen to this game. Till 1.02 come around. 1.03 helped but it'S nto enought but I am sure you guys are still working on it. 1.01 was the best ever in the general balance section.
Hey, I know this thread is a tad old, but THANKS Ironclad and Stardock! This game is the best and your efforts to please the fans with listening to their ideas and making patches is unrivaled.
Honestly anyone who's a fan of the genre has to put this in their top 10. Personally, I'd even rank it in the top 3. And though there wasn't a lot in the expansion, what it did contain revolutionized the game. Seriously guys 10 outta 10 and you will continue to make money off of me for as long as I'm a gamer. Not only because of the content but because of all the effort I see everyone putting into their respective products.
