Ok, my friend just suggested something that entirely blow my. at no point does it mention that the people from TEC are from earth. Infact the TEC could be entirely their own terran race. What if what is killing the Vasari is....wait for it....wait for it.....Humans from earth. *gasp*
seriously the Vasari are a bunch or slavers and what not that go around enslaving stuff and picking on the weak. What do people on earth do to people like that. They attack them of course. So the vasari are basicly shitting bricks cause humans are going ape on them.
Im sry guys but, not any of that could be right. The only person that made sense was the one person was the nanomachine stuff. And whoever said was the one talking about the rift then you must be a person who believes in the big bang theory too huh. No it can't be nonmachines nor humans of any kind but, hey they didn't give us campaigns right away so they could change the stroy. But no none of that stuff makes sense. Civil war not quite they'd be killed to due to that they didn't even have close to the same technology as there predesesors. Humans; I'm sry that just isn't right for our human race does not just simply obliterate a fleet out of thin air and even so we would let some live to be prisoners and try to contact that known species. No it can't be humans nor nanos. Nanos are a machine of coding and hardware when you give them a code that tells them to sit they sit. They have no mind nor a soul. Machines if pogrammed wrong can run amuck but, even then you can shut them down. I mean it isn't some kind of Terminator movie or a Stargate show even though there both really good. And yes I've seen Serenity and such. And yes they to are good. But, know this these species attack and they attack fast and without warning. They cut off comunications. They must have superior weapons schematics and shielding even that might not be true. These things attack and attack fast but, they do not kill them to a point of extincsion. These are creatures who are very suttle and can be very agitated. They attack. Why? Reasons that could be- 1.Vasari expand so much they can't cuntrol it all. 2.The vasari have enslaved 1000s of alien races must of which are primitive if resist they are conquered with overwhelming forces. 3.They attack a race much of which are like they in technology and do so with out mercy nor regret. 4.The poeple in outlying go to a start of unrest. These are factors that could have gotten a race like the other to come out of hiding but, like I said the creators have not finished this story yet. And I'm not bringing anyone down but, it still could be nanos to. Thanks For Reading!
(regarding Firefly/reavers reference) Well on one hand it's possible since Stardock has a history of making obvious jokes about stuff based on TV shows that they've incorporated into their games (GC2 tech description: "our scientists came up with this technology by watching old Star Trek reruns"), but on the other hand Sins seem to take itself more seriously.

It could be nanomachines quite easily. Haven't you heard of "Grey goo"? Tell a nanomachine to reproduce no matter what and eventually everything will be consumed and turned into more nanos. It's not as simple as "tell it to sit and it sits."
