http://freewaretips.myfreeforum.org/Freeware Tips is a great online resource for freeware (Powered by MyFreeForum). Wheither you're looking for educational programs, computer customization programs, games, etc: etc: Then we've got what you need. However Stardock may get a little ticked at me as I posted some free alternatives to ObjectBar, WindowBlinds, and even SoundPackager on there, and of course other free alternatives to other programs like PhotoShop, and Flash for example. There are other sections where you can post tips on free programs, show your work, post wallpapers, desktop screenshots, cursors, icons, generators, funny pictures, videos, show a great website, and much much more.Keep in mind that if you're not registered you will only see a limited part of the forum, registered members will see everything on the forum, except for 1 section. Which the admins use to test codesNow the forum hasn't been getting a whole lot of interaction lately except from the admins, and co-admins. So that's a bummer, but the members who are registered do seem to keep coming in so that's something at least.Anyway I thought I'd show you guys it as it is a good resource, and a good way to make friends. However don't forget this place as the people on here are very smart, helpful, fun, cool, and so on.
I hope I don't get introuble for posting this topic though.
Yesterday was your birthday, you might get an escape.
Windowblinds is one of the oldest skinning programs...
I don't see whay you'd get into trouble buddy, and cool, you've got stuff on Rocketdock!! that's what I've always used, and will never change.
When I tired WindowBlinds for the first time I was extremly amazed on how the skinning, and that was (that was about when I first started getting into computers which was like 2-3 years ago). After the free trial was over I wanted to find a free alternative, and all I found was the patching the visual styles, and that has come in handy for me, but the skinning takes a long time for me to do as to many pictures to edit.
Yes, Rocket Dock is nice. But I use Circle Dock.
It takes time to edit pictures but if you edit them one by one without hurrying, you can make a good skins. No work can be done in minutes barring the destructive ones. As you are a student, you won't be getting much time to skin, in that case you can download them.
Also you can make skins by using other skin as template. But study first dear.
I've never heard of Circle Dock, is it like RD, and OD?
The names is pretty self explanatory as is the name google
http://circledock.wikidot.com/
there goes 5 seconds of my time i'll never get back
I've never heard of it either, but I just did a search on it, and I found the official website, and some screenshots on the program, as well. Official Website = http://circledock.wikidot.com/ Screenshot
I was only asking.. and it was to the person who posted about it.. that's what friends do, we ask each other questions and hopefully, they reply, so we don't need to 'Google'.

mike, that looks pretty cool actually.
It rotates to on mouse away. You can enable or disable it. Only the mouse over effect is not so smooth. Backgrouds not so unique but then its in early age and promising. But you can edit them perhaps. I havn't tried to edit them though.
I think the program's ok, I'm not diggen the theme for it though, but everything else is pretty nice. Thanks for pointing it out for me.
Now I gotta figure out how to give karma lol
mike, the thumbs up icon next to 'report' in a post is the Karma button.
Oh I feel like an idiot lol. I didn't even see thoughs 2 buttons lol.
Don't feel bad! I've been hanging around this site for about eight years now and I didn't know that's what it was either!
Now, someone tell me what the referrals are and where they come from!
I was wonderin that too.
hehe it took me ages to find out how to give Karma
Referrals are searches people do, like Google, that lead them to here, or a skin for example, you'll notice on a lot of skins they have a referral number next to them.
Personally I use freewarefiles.com, they have a "real" UI, which is not as messed up as other freeware sites.
(I use filehippo, softpedia, download.com and such too, but they are not freeware only, so I tend to use them if I can't find a reasonable free app.)
They come from search engines. Like if you search freeware tips wincustomize on google, and follow the result to come to this page, there will be one referral. If you use different combinations of key words, then there will be one more and so on.
If you use yahoo search, then there will be another.
Clicking on 'Referrals', you can see such combinations for each search engine.
So referrals = keywords + search engine combinations which refer you to specific page.
Wow I didn't know that so that's pretty cool, and a good idea too. So props to who got that idea, and put it up.
freewarehome is another good resource.
Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit! I never would have figured that out! Thanx TG and Super!
