I`m not sure how Stardock approaches acquiring projects for Impulse or what the diplomacy involved is particularly. That said, ideally I`d love to see Majesty 2 get 'signed'... taken under the Stardock wing and nurtured into the kind of game it has so much potential to be.
Those links are for the latest game previews. It *looks* like the development team is on the right track, and that they have completion ability. Love to try a build of it.
Previously they've said to also push it on the game's main boards, so the developers/publisher can approach SD also
We're more than happy to list new games, but yeah, users putting pressure on the other side definitely helps
I sent their marketting folks an e-mail... at least I *think* I did...
tacticular cancer? Thats a good one
Definately one of the games I am buying no matter what. Having it on Impulse would be a boon though.
Majesty 2 is being published by Paradox Interactive in 2009. Since we are working to add a ton of Paradox games to Impulse right now (seriously, I'm uploading about half a dozen for testing as I type this), I think there stands a fair chance you'll see Majesty 2 on Impulse in the future. But be sure you let Paradox know how much you want this to happen, just to be safe!
yay, now I'll wait to buy Majesty 2 till its on Impulse!

great, I hope I can pre-order
VERY cool! Here`s hoping a full partnership featuring the usual pre-order scheme from Stardock can follow, with input and assistance in the game`s development too.
Big thumbs up (though some measure of breath is still held).
Sweet. I guess I'll wait till it is on Impulse.
On a side note as I have said before: Christ guys! Just merge services and be done with it. Spin off both services as a third company with a proportional stake for both in the new service and create a behemoth to bitch slap Steam around a few times. Both SD and PI are solid player focused companies that provide serious support for in house titles so a convergence is in everyone best interest if a merger is out of the question.
Regarding Majesty 2 itself, if you ever get the chance to molest the design please pass along my suggestion to break down the reward currencies. My idea is to have other currency besides raw Gold coin for rewards, with those different currencies enticing different characters in different ways & to differing degrees. For example, offering a reward of Gems instead of Gold might bring out both the Wizards and the Dwarves more frequently.
Also, allow a player to create individual magic equipment for the cost of said currencies (the more powerful the item, the greater the cost). A player could only have a single magic item ready at a time. Then the player would place the item upon the battlefield like any other reward flag. Depending upon the item type, certain characters might be more inclined than others to pursue it. If the item is too powerful, characters might get too greedy and commit themselves to fights they cannot possibly win (i.e. level 2 Wizards trying to kill a Dragon for the sake of a Staff Of Power...).
Another preview, with some thoughtful comments/observations as well as some unthoughtful ones (he complains about 'downtime' where all you do is sit back and watch and wait for things to happen... well YEAH - thats the game!...).

I got an e-mail back from one of the Paradox folks who expressed a mirrored enthusiasm for the original. While not mentioning publishing avenues, he did reaffirm a confidence in what they have for the sequel. Very cool of him to respond personally.
Good stuff. This game is a true classic methinks. I cant wait for my son to be old enough to play it with me.
Another preview article.

Notable are the facts that Heroes will look different from character to character (at least thats how the preview read...) and that Heroes will change appearance as they level up or gain new abilities. Having Heroes visually reflect their abilities sounds fantastic.
Also of note: the mechanism to place Flags upon friendly NPCs, encouraging Heroes to escort them. Great thinking on the part of the developer - I can see my minions trying to protect that pudgy tax collector right now.
This new intro trailer brought a hearty smile to my face, thats for sure...

(one of a number of download sites for it...)
Glad they have the original narrator.
So, anything new in the realm of the forthcoming Majesty? I personally haven`t heard anything for some time - game-wise been mostly living in L4D, Demigod, and FEAR 2 Lands...
Now that would be nice to have Majasty 2 on impulse
No doubt. It has been some time and we have not got any feedback yet. Can someone at SD update us please?

An updated site, with samples of the music in the Downloads section. Excellent music by the way - perfectly fitting for the game, absolutely perfect. Well worth a listen.
From the looks of it, a major push is being given to make Majesty 2 something worthy. Excellent...

If you hunt around you can find a very good interview with the music composer.
Scheduled for release in the second quarter of this year, so I`d say we`ll see this soon.
If there was a pre-order available for this one, I`d be all over it...
The second quarter is almost over...
It's really not, it's like the middle of the second quarter.
A link to a presentation on Majesty 2...

Also, Majesty 2 is being polished... a second quarter release will not happen, but we`ll have a better game for it.
