Wild Card Tier: I don’t know what goes on in these people’s heads, but they play on Sins enough to be on here. These guys have been playing for so long, you wonder why they don’t quite get it. Sometimes they’re good, sometimes they aren’t. Usually they’re always one trick ponies.
_|~Sire/KoK/King of Kodiaks/LiLZe/Kodiak_King - Tier #3 if he doesn't goof off.
kbroke - Tier #2 if he isn't on drugs or drunk, which is 99.9% of the time.
HuyMac - Tier #2 if he doesn't "Experiment".
Predator (WFU) - Tier #2, but lately he is just plain awful and I would rather pick a noob that know how to listen that to pick this guy.
And Candido's Team Player Edition
When these people are on my team, I feel a victory will soon be added to my statistics, regardless of who is on the other team: Auqia*, HowThe*, Ooloo* (quar)
We really should have a victory but sometimes things can go wrong, especially if one of the aforementioned players is on the opposing team: Krath, Tyr, Doci, DieHard* (greg), Efejao*, Hiroge, Mecha-Lenin, Multiz*
Superior contributors to the team: jbaum*, RedRuby(BlueSaphire)(GreenEmerald)*, Ekko-Tek*, Dumdeedum*, Fallen_One*, DeceptivePanda (StarKiller), Nayru*, Eros(Specter)*, Higgy, jamex, Traxsin, Slavinari, Faernel*, CarpetBomb*, BagsX*, BrainDead
Good solid contributors to the team: Aeonx*, BooPoo*, SerakWarriors, Camaro*, Archa-A*, JakeMac, kbroke*, Ginisfurd, maxy, USNC, gondie, unname, Seleuceia, Dwish, ColdFront(Universe)*, Mavarik, Knewgui, Teun-a-Roonius, KFear, BoomUrDead
Well, it's a teammate: rabidturnip*
ive never played multi -but these folks sound awesome
You'd probably be shocked to learn just how much tougher real human opponents are compared to the AI, at least in terms of strategic ability.
Your best hope is to chat as if you have no skills and then try to sucker punch them. Sometimes they'll be so focused on the real threats they miss you
You can also go out at night and jump as high as you can and try to catch stars with your hands--about the same chance of success.
Sins really is like chess and when you play a team of experinced players the deck is very stacked and the learning curve becomes a black hole.
Somebody hasn't been up dating this, LOL
Most or at least many of the names on that list are long gone. I sure hope they all come back for Rebellion.
its not easy to keep a skill track list when the top players with the exception of auqia are always smurfing.
-Star Player
Or playing badly (i.e., me).
[DT]Howthe?: Shh... Don't say the A-word, because you won't find an advent player here. He was long considered a single-threat player who only felt comfortable as Vasari, but has since learned to appreciate and play as TEC as well. Regardless of race, he loves getting a "soft" economy up, and if there is a lightly defended ice or volcano near his homeworld, you can be assured that nothing short of a disconnect or minidump will prevent him from getting it. Every second that passes he becomes exponentially more powerful as he leverages his economic advantage to swarm and crush his opponent.
Auqia: If hes on your team, rejoice, if not, lube up. Since JJ has gone undercover or MIA, Auqia filled in as the number one player on ICO. He never chooses a race in the lobby, and this randomness is perhaps a metaphor for the variety of ways and races he can kill you with. Aside from his skill, he differentiates himself from the pack by remaining clanless (despite frequent attempts by DT to enlist him), and resisting the temptation to smurf.
Alright, so I've updated this slightly. Post reviews, comments, and I will try to incorporate.
Hey I'm not in.
LOL
Nice to see it updated. LOVED koks description. Another way to defeat him is to spamm LF and go kill his labs and 1 fact he is building from. Oh and he scuttles frig fact on hw to build it on his roid most of the time. He also builds 6 ogrovs so sb deffense is not good option against him.
HC rush from eco spot. Classic.
oh and Eagle Imperial=Legolas/Gandalf
We're going to keep updating it and adding the current community as best we can. I can write detailed reviews for all of the DT, but if the community wants to pitch in and write a few reviews for BIA and other skilled that would be fine.
This list will be useful for all the newbies whose first introduction to Sins is through Rebellion.
Other people who need reviews (off the top of my head):
[_]-Hiroge
[_]-DeadRat9
Warfleet
DaKnife
Serak Warriors
Elrosh
CliverBUG
devious
HuyMac
Thanks whip, Elrosh is already added, but If you want to help me and how write some of the reviews, or update some of the ones that are already there, that would be terrific
I got crushed by Kbroke.
I think that he has gotten better...
He doesn't smurf as often I know a couple of his.
Jbaum
General Grevious
2 more ......
[DT]JohnJames: While it is hard to say if he is still playing with any frequency, there is no doubt that if he returns, he would regain his position as one of the best, or the best player on ICO. His micro is impeccable and when he is on top of his game he rarely ever takes a significant ship loss. Some players only weaken late game but his counters are as sharp as ever regardless of what race he is playing.
[DT]Tyr222: In CoN's absence, the rest of DT has looked upon Tyr as the de facto leader of the clan. Tyr is a swiss army knife of sorts, in that he thrives on the front line, in the suicide spot, and in the pocket. He is the counterbalance to [DT]Howthe? in that he tends to put a heavier focus on fleet than he does on his economy. This is not to say that he can't play sim city with the best of them, only that it isn't an immediate priority. He is a dependable ally who can be counted on to analyze his situation and make the right moves to effectively exploit it.
[DT]Mecha-Lenin: The newest member of Dream Team (currently) is just as good as his clan mates and invokes memories of Cykur with his steady and constant expansion until he becomes space virus status and too powerful too take down. His knowledge of the game, coupled with his ability to deal with many battles raging across the galaxy at once make him a fierce competitor in the multiplayer community. He is not a feed vacuum, and will rarely ask for it, but if you give it too him it will not go to waste. (1)
Slackah Chiken: A veteran of the multiplayer community who is not the best or most consistent player on Ironclad, but he takes direction well and has become a staple of the skilled games over the years. He is not the fastest with his counters but if someone is keeping an eye on him and giving him small nudges in the right direction he is a competent player. He has settled into his comfort zone playing TEC after a long spurt with Advent. He has room for improvement if he tries, but seems to be happy with where he is in the game. (3)
Warfleet: His connection is unfortunately erratic, but he is a solid player who has good macro skills but should work on his micro and map awareness if he is to take his game to the next level. He is not a typical space virus threat but is a tenacious player who will keep trying to rebuild and remain a factor in the game if you fail to exterminate him completely. This makes him a good asset in team games and separates him from the large portion of ICO who give up after things are no longer going his way. (2)
Kzm: He is not a conventional player, but I am not sure if that is out of choice or just questionable decisions. Sometimes he goes eco on the flank, sometimes he fails to build a proper economy in the pocket. He is a decent team player but gets down on himself very easily and is slow to react to the developments of the game. Sometimes the odd decisions he make pan out really well for him and put him in a good spot to be a threat later on in the game. He does his best work when he is only against one player, but when he starts to get pressured from multiple sides, he unfortunately crumbles/blames team/quits. If he sticks around and improves his game he has a definite chance to move up the ranks. (WCT)
[_]-Itchynail: Itchynail, or just "Itchy" is one of the best and brightest of the clan Brothers in Arms. He fills all the roles well and makes alot of good decisions but is just a touch too slow in making them. He has the odd tendency to toy with his enemies and keep them alive when he has the chance to kill them and if he is to get better he must stop doing this. However, if he is on his game he can be a serious threat to even the best of the best players. He is a player with a sturdy foundation and if he increases his reaction time he will be right up there with the top dogs. (2)
i like my review .
[_]-Specter: A good vasari player who tends to focus more on eco then fleet. All around good player but not the best in any one aspect of the game. He is however always reliable and a great addition to any team.
My small contribution to this thread:
Huymac: First thing you'll notice about Huymac is his attitude. He insults people for no reason, often by whispering. If you talk back he's likely to quit game and hurt your team. He hates typical strategies and experiments a lot, but usually fails at that. His micro is rather good though. His main strenght is unpredictability, he will often travel across map and attack farthest player. Expect siege rushes and pure LF spam vs LRF (?). All in all rather bad player. (wild card)
ilihC: Vasari/TEC player excelling at rushing. As Vasari he will build 3 skirantras and sb your nearest planet, as TEC he will just spam LRM. In typical 5v5 expect his opponent to die rather quick. Unfortunately, as game progresses Chili seems to stick to his "insta win" strategies instead of expanding and building economy which in turn hurts his effectivness. If you can forgive him tendency to quitting when he thinks he won (or prefers to think that way) he's overall solid player, one of better outside clans. (tier2)
Thank you for the help guys. Post has been updated. Keep the reviews coming.
[_]-HIGGY: The best of the BIA clan and a sound strategist. He feels most comfortable as Vasari or TEC but has rarely, if ever, played Advent. He likes to send his enemy on the defensive, and once they start building defenses, he falls back and starts to make an economy. He is better than most late game, so the best chance you have to beat him is to wipe him out early and not let him become a space virus or firmly entrenched.
