I think I recall having to Novalith all your worlds the other day Hack.   The game ended moments after you said something along the lines of "How long will it take you to find my colonizer?"  

I guess Elrosh just wanted to play out it out.  I have been known to get ornery sometimes and not want to throw in the towel either, especially when people are annoying me. He crushed Zoomers fleet a couple times because Zoomers was focusing on the nice big squishy Kol.  (Was that Zoomers?  I noticed at some point Zoomers seemed to be an AI, but missed when it happened.)

Oh, and Hack had a really screwed up start position...lol....1 phase lane to a plasma cloud.  Luckily there were plenty of neutrals not far away and his neighboring enemy was about as dangerous as a one legged pony.

Well...he Novolithed me first....and you are a starbase monkey, so I was trying to get the game over with.

As proven with our match last night!!!! I should have guessed from the name that it was Siddy smurfing too....

A smurf is a good player who plays under a different name with little or no record.  His normal name has an impressive win-loss record, but under the new name, no one knows who he is.  By smurfing he can (1) prevent opponents who'd rather not play against him from leaving before the game starts, and (2) stack the teams and prevent the opposition from squaking about it before the game starts since his win-loss record will make him look like a noob or at least not as skilled as he actually is.

For most people it's like masturbating; just about everybody does it.

There's 2 forces really:

Some of us like Entrenchment, and some of us don't.  Also, being good at one will mean that you probably are rusty at the other, so it's hard to switch.

There aren't enough skilled players on to have a good 4v4 or 5v5 match where we can use our DT tags.

With that said, DT is still alive and well, and I do still use the tag when there are enough skilled players on for us to get a balanced 3v3, 4v4, or 5v5.  However, like the rankings in Tier #1 indicate, and how Siddy and yourself just stated, someone with a DT tag joins a game, and immediately, no matter what you do, your team automatically became stacked. 

I would post a replay of a game I played the other day of a 4v4.  One teammate dropped due to lag in the first 15 min, and the next two soon followed due to being pounded.  I took out one guy, and started raping another.  They kept calling on me to quit and another player sent his 55+ carrier fleet plus 4 Marza's to meet me.  I then fired all 12 of my Kostura's (which I hadn't fired until then so I could surprise them).  I took out all of their frigs, and the carriers had about 100 hp left.  What my HCs didn't kill, he retreated, and then asked what I had just done.  I told them I would tell them in lobby and quit the game.  I really didn't feel like dragging it on forever, and it was clear to me that I could have probably won if I cared to play another 4 hours.

It's not just DT.  It is difficult with the [_] tag as well.  Even trying to get a 3 vs 4 or the like is damned hard with clan.  I have taken to using my untagged name at times so I can actually get a game.  People see a bunch from a clan in a game and they wuss out.  I can understand to a certain degree considering so many give up at the slightest turn against them rather than continue and help their team while clans are unlikely to run out on one another.  I still don't have a smurf though.
