Interested in Entrenchment I was in the mood to order it today. How suprised I was to find you, chargeing your European customers with 9,95 EUR, which ist substantially more, than the 9,95 USD on your site. Not intendet in getting cheatet by a publisher, I canceled the order.
Sorry for your otherwise interesting product. Maybe we will come to terms, if you come to a fair priceing for your European customers.
This Afthernoon I wanted to buy Full Spectrum Warrior, but when i saw stardock now even handels USD=GBD i quickly pressed the close button on my browser.
Current situation:
The shop prices are shown in United States Dollars, but when i move to the Cart the prices change to GBP (why is this?) , and my final bill from paypall in Euro's. (ofcourse)
this example is taken from Full Spectrum Warrior - Then Hammers:
impulse store 9.99 USDprices in cart 9.99 BPD (USD=GBP even worse then USD=EUR)!!!Bill from paypal 11.30020 EURTotal paid in USD 14.17611 USD
while it should be this (taken the bug with the British pounds in cart into acound)
Impulse store 9,99 USDprices in cart 7.04002 GBPBill from paypal 7,96333 EURTotal paid in USD 9,99 USD (Like advertised!)
but i think Impulse store should use the same prices in the product lists and cart, and these should be both in USD or BOTH in someone's regional currency.
And telling us that you can't make up the prices because the local publisher handels the prices isn't going to work, i've bought the games from Impulse driven why is it then always ecaxtly EUR=USD?
when you are going to the pub get yourself something to drink for 2 USD (like advertised.)and when you give them 2 USD the say that they want 4 USD because the price in some other café is 4 USD. WHAT SHOULD YOU SAY THEN? right! KEEP YOUR SHIT!
meanwhile i'm looking forward to play dawn of war 2, only 5% left to download.
thats right, i'm back to illigal downloaded games and music, i rather use illigal software then get ripped of by a company that advertises themselves as a company that listens to the customers needs with their fake bill of rights, pretending to be some kind of breakthrough in the software market.
But stil I think impulse is a great program with very good features (comming updates)
im looking forward to the upcomming impulse updates. The release of the great Sins of a solar empire expansion. And ofcourse the beta 3 of Demigod.
used currency rates as of 18 february 2009:
1 Euro = 0,88406 BPD
1 Euro = 1,25450 USD
1 BPD = 1,41903 USD
1 BPD = 1,13115 EUR
1 USD = 0,79713 EUR
1 USD = 0,70471 BPD
For third party titles especially, Impulse DOES NOT SET THE PRICES. The publisher/developer tells us what prices to set in various territories. The only time you get straight currency conversions are for titles that we have worldwide distribution rights from the publisher/developer and they are under no territorial price restrictions.
THQ set the prices for their titles in various territories, we have to respect that.
why do we have to find out we are charged more then stardock tells us afther we bought a game? can't stardock tell us that before we pay?
and why does stardock charge me 10.13 euro's for entrenchment, thats 14 USD..
and why does stardock always say worldwide availibility and same prices worldwide?
and why are the prices in my cart in british pounds?
besides, i buy these games at STARDOCK'S store, if they advertise with 9,99 USD i want it for 9,99 USD and not 14 USD like i paid for entrenchment, as a customer i dont give a shit about publishers, if stardock advertises entrenchment for 9,99 i want it for 9,99 and nothing more.
It doesn't matter what you give about publishers. It's the legalities of business. If anything you should be complaining to Ironclad, not Stardock, but I do sympathize for you. The only condolences I can bring is that if/when USD is higher than the Euro in value you won't have to pay USD then either.
Thanks for correcting the retail price for us EUR-customers.
