Dragoon4ever recently made a post asking if anyone else has run into this problem, and I did last week. A Relic planet had both a population cap and a population bonus. What ended up happening was my AI ally kept trying to colonize the planet, and would lose the planet within a couple minutes (once it reached the cap). This went on so much that I just stopped paying attention to the "planet has been lost" message. Is there any way to change/remove the planetary bonuses in a save file? I tried looking at the save file myself, but couldn't find anything legible...
yes and no
not in the save file (as i know) but in the entity files of the planets.
each planet entity files has a list of bonuses that allways found (eg. pirate treasure at the pirate base)
and a list of random bonuses.
this list contains both types of bonues the positive ones and the negative ones, so you can decide if you want to leave
the good or the bad ones in.
but in all my games i had most times only one or no bonus per planet.
maybe if the bonus chance is increased this happens more often.
