Greetings all,
Thank you for all the posts of bug feedback and suggestions regarding Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment. Ironclad has been hard at work reading through the posts and working on the next update. Even though you won't see us post very often, we are paying attention, so please be patient with us.
Currently we're planning on an Entrenchment beta update next week - as always we'll be aiming for Wednesday or Thursday. The team needs more time to rework how the mines function in the game so that we get a more balanced system in place.
I'll edit this post with more info as I get it in.

I doubt Sins 2 is even on the drawing boards yet...
Ronnie fails at quoting Whether it's Sins 2 or not is unknown, but Craig let it slip a while back in one online interview that it'll be a strategy game like we've not played before.
2nd micro expansion? And here i was worried a bit about the future of Sins due to economics...yea kinda dumb i know ..sorry.(what..all kinds of titles and such have been discontinued by other publishers due to all this...money issue ..stuff.)
Ill have to wait a bit longer to get into the beta but the more i read from you testers and moderators the more i want to join in .
Well, one way to get around all of the $$$ issues is to handle releases the way that IC has done this. in smaller micro-expansions for a small amount of $$$. These micro-expansions still have a nice amount of content in them. If you haven't heard, IC has stated that there will be 3 of these micro-expansions.
The 1st, as we know is Entrenchment and is defense oriented. The 2nd (don't know the title yet), is supposed to be more geared towards adding to the diplomacy aspect. And the 3rd is kinda still under raps...I don't think anyone knows a whole lot about it yet.
Each micro will be available through Impulse only for the small charge of $9.95 US and IC has also stated that once the final micro is released, then they will probably combine all 3 micro's into 1 box set for sale at retail outlets.
So, that kind of sums up the micro-expansions.
Yeah.. Sins had an extremely good return-on-investment ratio. It was in the top-10 best selling games in '08 (those lists only track retail sales, so digital downloads didn't even register), and it was made on less than $1 million. So, in terms of income, it was probably a pretty good gold mine for both Stardock and Ironclad and Sins' future looks very bright indeed
We haven't gotten any hard numbers either, but when the Entrenchment beta just came out Yarlen said that processing preorders might take a while because they had a huge number of them.
uh, hadn't heard that (only experienced it). thus I can speak for everyone when I say 'Good news, everyone! ...' (100 pts to who gets the quote)
again I wonder how much the rest of the original time table is fucked up. but then, with so much in entrenchment still to toy around, I guess I can handle it.
Professor Farnsworth, Futurama. You made it too easy again.
A lot. The second one was supposed to be March/April, with the third in the beginning of summer. Don't think either are going to happen now. But, just like you, I don't mind one bit. Entrenchment would not have been ready, so I'm glad they didn't stick to the November date.
yeah, they are handling the releases in the right manner too. Would rather have all of the smaller issues and bags/balances worked out BEFORE release, not after in patches.
I thought it wasn't too difficult. I'll thrown in something more challenging some time.
just like thespydr said: better late in good shape than on time in bad shape. turns out there were a few areas that needed attention. and reputation is important in this business I'd say.
lol ok im convinced, friday (payday) ill do my Pre order so i can join in the fun.
Hopefully this update will also fix the Advent antistructure glitch thing. The things worked fine for the first time i played, but i after i saved, got off and then got back on later, the advents antistructure ships werent shooting and werent dealing any damage. they are so useful as well!
Any hopes for a mid-week hotfix?
