In 2007 i created 2 fleets after getting inspired by too many ship designers to list them all here) - one for the Terrans and one for the Altarians.
In 2008 i followed the Ship Design Thread again with great interest, but was not able to participate because of r/l.
Now a new year has started. I think it's time to start a new thread where this year you and i all can show the ship designs we created.
It doesn't matter if they were done with Dread Lords, Dark Avatar or even with Twilight of the Arnor. Just show what you think you like to show.

Raptor Class Heavy Fighter (Heavy Fighter Type 02)
The A-14A Raptor Strike Bomber was developed by Origin Aerospace and entered service in 2239 with the Raptor replacing the then obsolete Barracuda. Even after many years, the Raptor remains one of the most powerful and respected fighters in service. Before the introduction of the F-57 Sabre heavy fighter, the Raptor had the heaviest shields carried on any fighter and had incredible armor compared to its contemporaries such as the Hornet and Scimitar. The Raptor was eventually re-designated the F/A-14 to authenticate the heavy fighters ability to engage other fighters.

River Class Transport
The River Class Transport was a conversion from a Constellation Class freighter by removing the freight modules and making room for the marines and their equipment. Every possible expansion space was used for troops quarters, technical equipment and the dropships were squeezed into little hangars. The transports were only lightly armed with 4 heavy laser cannons firing forward. It was saved on armor plating to reduce the overall weight and to obtain more speed out of the old cargo hulls which proved to be a fatal mistake, because during the invasion on Sigma Draco I the Confederation lost many transports to enemy fighters.
Sabre Class Heavy Fighter (Heavy Fighter Type 03)
The F-57A was developed as a replacement for the F/A-14 Raptor which was reaching obsolescence towards the end of the older heavy fighter's career. The fighter was developed by Douglas Aerospace and many considered the new heavy fighter to be one of the finest space superiority fighters ever to serve in the Confederation Navy. The first prototype entered service in the mid 2250’s and officially entered squadron level service just a few years after being first introduced. The F-57A Sabre heavy fighters quickly replaced the F/A-14 Raptor in front line service with the older fighter being relegated to secondary roles.
Scimitar Class Medium Fighter (Medium Fighter Type 01)
The F-32 Scimitar was originally intended as a stop-gap replacement for the aging Barracuda medium starfighter. The F-32 Scimitar was developed in a crash program by Origin Aerospace and was intended to rebuild the Confederation fighter losses in the Sigma Draconis fiasco as well as to build up forces as the contact with more hostile alien races had just been made. The Scimitar was initially designated as the Corsair but near the end of the medium fighter's development program, the Corsair was renamed as the Scimitar. Mass production of the medium fighter began in 2215.
Skyfortress Class Orbital Defense Platform (Orbital Defense Type 02)
The OD-77A Skyfortress was the second design of Boeing Aerospace built for the Confederation Navy. Like its former project, the OD-54 Citadel, it also had 2 F-34 Dolphin interceptors stationend. But instead of missiles Boeing Aerospace this time chose beam weapons mounted on top of the hangars for the interceptors covering a 360 degree field of fire. Service entry of this platform model was in the mid 2240's. Its mass amounts to 12500 tons now because of better armor and more sophisticated electronics being built in.
Snake Class Spore Ship
The Snake Class spore ship was developed by Douglas aerospace upon a request by the Special Operations Forces of the Confederation Navy. The basic hull was taken from a River Class transport. Many modifications have been built into the ship to convert it from a troop transport to a spore ship. Armament consisted of 4 heavy laser cannons firing forward and 3 ball turrets for defense against fighters. The use of spore weapons was forbidden with the McAuley treaty from 2235, but the hardliners of the Confederation got their own way, treaty or not. The future will show if they were right or not ...
Southampton Class Destroyer (Destroyer Type 03)
The Southampton Class destroyer was developed by Vickers Aerospace in 2284 as a replacement for the aging Kyoto Class destroyer. The design envisioned a compact construction so that the destroyer could be built in great numbers for the upcoming Gwynedd Offensive. For reasons of economy the desired engine could not be built since this engine was already requested for the Gilgamesch Class. Armament consisted of 4 heavy phasors and 2 heavy laser cannons all firing forward, 6 Ball turrets for defense against fighters, ECM-equipment and a point-defense system against missiles or torpedoes.
Sparrow Class Scout
The RF-62A Sparrow was first developed as a pure reconnaissance fighter with the main engineering company being Douglas Aerospace. Early versions of the fighter were operated mostly by Special Operations Command. Virtually all of the Confederation Epee and Ferret light fighters were destroyed during the Battle of Terra and a new fighter was needed to replace them. The Sparrow is the fastest and most maneuverable reconnaissance fighter presently operated by the Confederation. Many Sparrow pilots are fond of stating that the pilot straps onto the fighter not into the fighter.
Starfortress Class Orbital Defense Platform (Orbital Defense Type 03)
Boeing Aerospace, now experienced in building orbital defense platforms, desgined and built a third defense platform for the Confederation Navy considering the feedbacks from officers and pilots. The landing platforms now had been arranged angular to relieve the landing fighters during combat. The beam weapons had been exchanged against railguns which have proven better for firing at point blank range. The Navy got the first model from the factories at the end of the 2260's.
Stiletto Class Medium Fighter (Medium Fighter Type 04)
The F-71 Stiletto, developed by Origin Aerospace, was the first fighter design which was equipped with a jump drive to enable it to use the hyperspace. Prior to the introduction of the Stiletto, the only small craft with a jump drive was the Broadsword bomber which is far larger, 100 metric tons compared to 24 metric tons for the Stiletto. The initial prototype fighters had many problems with their jump engines and there have been cases where the whole ship fails due to power surges. The fighter was first tested 2275 in special ops squadrons under combat situations. Even after the disastrous Deneb Campaign, the Confederation allowed further research and development of the Stiletto fighter.
Tallahassee Class Light Cruiser (Light Cruiser Type 02)
Construction on the Tallahassee Class light cruiser was begun near the mid of the 2270's. These ships were designed to be mass produced to make up for losses occurred during the Delta Pavonis Ambush in 2274. The Tallahassee Class light cruisers were supported by the heavier Waterloo Class heavy cruiser in the mid of the 2290's. The design of these ships were drawn up before the perceived need for fighters and they are only able to embark 2 light squadrons of fighters and a pair of C-19 Class crew shuttles. The later Waterloo Class could embark 16 fighters and was later modified to be able to carry a full 40 fighters, making them effectively light carriers as well as being heavy cruisers.
Talon Class Light Fighter (Light Fighter Type 05)
The F-38 Talon was developed by Grumman Aerospace as a high performance fighter able to intercept and handle all known enemy fighters at that time. Although only lightly armed with its two beam weapons, The Talon is an nimble space fighter no enemy fighter pilot should underestimtate because of its very good acceleration and high maximum speed. The Talon is one of the most common fighters on the terran-alien frontiers, owing to the 2254 illegal sale of the fighters by Sigma Draconis governor Lythenam to a fanatic sect. Service entry of the Talon in the Confederation Navy was 2251.

Venture Class Corvette (Corvette Type 02)
The Venture class Corvette is the Confederation Navy's lightest capital ship in service, first entering the fleet in the early 2250's. The class can be considered halfway between that of a bomber and destroyer, not quite satisfying the needs of either role. These ships serve in many different roles over the years and are often used to escort convoys, long range scouting, guarding jump points, and even for decoy missions. Standard Venture class Corvettes carry a pair of heavy neutron cannons as their main weaponry, a pair of heavy defense lasers and two long range missile launchers.

Wake Island Class Escort Carrier
The Wake Island-class warships serve in the role of escort carrier in the Confederation Forces. Initially created as a stop gap solution to the loss of half the Confederation carrier fleet during 2286-2287, the first nine were built quickly from medium sized transport hulls. Even though they are weakly armored and shielded compared to their larger brethren, the escort carriers are one of the fastest carriers in the fleet. The escort carriers mount the same engine which is carried on the Gilgamesh class destroyers. The small carriers escaped in circumstances which larger fleet carriers would have been caught and destroyed.
Waterloo Class Heavy Cruiser
The Waterloo class entered service during the mid 2280's and replaced the Tallahassee class cruisers which were in service at that time. The Waterloo class heavy cruisers served as the Confederation Fleet's primary heavy cruiser for the 2280's through most of the 2290's. They were the largest Confederation Fleet's warships except carriers and the California Class battle cruisers. Besides providing escort for the mainstay fleet carriers, Waterloo Class cruisers also served as flagships for small task forces which do not involve the large carriers. Unlike carriers, the heavy cruisers are not large enough to have an auxiliary bridge. Examples of missions include working paired up with another cruiser or with a supporting destroyer escort.
Weasel Class Patrol Fighter (Light Fighter Type 01)
The P-26A Weasel was a result of a joint venture of the Planetary Air Force and the Confederation Navy. The frame was taken from a delta-wing Air Force fighter. Engines, weapons and electronics came from the labs of the Confederation Navy. The Weasel is an agile space fighter, capable of atmospheric flight, but lacks a jump drive and thus has to remain in orbit of the planets. Weaponry consists of a single particle beam, mounted below the nose of the fighter. Planetary Air Force and Confederation Navy both have bought large quantites of this light fighter.
Wraith Class Fighter Bomber (Fighter Bomber Type 02)
The Wraith was developed by Terran Tech Laboratories in New York in the late 2270s. The Terran Confederation Space Naval Academy began qualifying pilots on Wraith prototypes in 2277. The larger production variant of the Wraith entered service by early 2279. The Wraith briefly held a record for being the fastest ship in known space. By 2280 the title had been passed to a newer fighter. Two important weapons systems were originally developed for the Wraith: the Black Hole Generator Cannon and the Phasor Mk VII.
The Wraith Class completes the Confederation fleet. Enjoy.
My Korath Spore ship. I wanted something that looked vaguely organic and biological, that makes you pay attention when one of these things is on its way to inject your planet with something nasty.

This one was inspired by Gildur's model in the databank. It's a small hull instead of a tiny one and I also made a model for gerwalk mode. I don't feel like putting the time and effort into a battloid model at this point.
