In 2007 i created 2 fleets after getting inspired by too many ship designers to list them all here) - one for the Terrans and one for the Altarians.
In 2008 i followed the Ship Design Thread again with great interest, but was not able to participate because of r/l.
Now a new year has started. I think it's time to start a new thread where this year you and i all can show the ship designs we created.
It doesn't matter if they were done with Dread Lords, Dark Avatar or even with Twilight of the Arnor. Just show what you think you like to show.

Hvar'kann Class Battleship
During the conclusion of the 2260s, the Kilrathi decided to reorganize and modernize its entire fleet so that it would be better suited to deal with the ships of the Terran Confederation, as they held the upper hand in the Terran-Kilrathi War during that decade. Among the ships commissioned during those years was the Hvar'kann Class dreadnought, one of the largest vessels ever fielded by the Kilrathi Empire. The lead ship of this class was the KIS Hvar'kann, and it quickly assumed the role as Crown Prince Thrakhath nar Kiranka's personal flagship, replacing the aging KIS Hha'khinta.
Greetings

Jakhari Class Transport
The Jakhari Class transport wasn't a completely new design. The Jakhari Class derived from the succesful Dorkir design, which could be adapted to operate in various roles. Developed for the transport role, the Jakhari was able to accomodate around 1000 marines - twice as much as its terran counterpart the River Class Transport. Defensive armament were ten dual mount defense lasers against fighters. Like the River Class the Jakhari Class needed only few crew members.
Jalkehi Class Heavy Fighter (Heavy Fighter Type 04)
The Jalkehi Class heavy fighter was considered to be the preeminent Kilrathi space superiority fighter of its time. The fighter had an extremely heavy gun array with four laser cannons and 2 particle beam cannons. The fighter also mounted a rear turret which made attacking from rear extremely deadly as well. The main weakness of the heavy fighter was its maneuverability which was only slightly better than the Confederation Broadsword bomber. In general role, the Jalkehi filled a similar role to the Confederation Sabre Class heavy fighter although most considered the F-57 Sabre to be superior to the Jalkehi.
Jalthi Class Heavy Fighter (Heavy Fighter Type 03)
While produced in very limited numbers, the Jalthi Class heavy fighter was the most heavily armed fighter of its time and extremely feared by Confederation pilots. In keeping with the classic Kilrathi fighter design philosophies, the Jalthi was given a large offensive capability (one might say incredible), but its defensive capabilities are considered lacking compared to many Confederation designs, especially against more nimble Confederation fighters which were capable of evading the Jalthi's front weapon array. It was not until the introduction of the F-57 Sabre that the Confederation had a superior fighter. Even so, many Kilrathi pilots would prefer to dogfight with a Sabre in a Jalthi than in the later Jalkehi.
Jorkathi Class Light Fighter (Light Fighter Type 01)
The Jorkathi Class light fighter was the first light space superiority fighter which was built in real large numbers. The T'kon Clan needed a fast and cheap to build light fighter to keep the upper hand in the Kilrathi Civil War which they had aquired shortly ago and so it was decided to use the Jorkathi Class light fighter for their purposes. The Jorkathi was designed using blueprints from a conquered alien race and was armed with two laser cannons and two “Paw” dumbfire missiles.
Jrathek Class Medium Fighter (Medium Fighter Type 04)
The Jrathek Class medium fighter was a prototype fighter being developed by Kilrathi. Kilrathi scientist Hajjnah was one of the staff members in charge of the development of the Jrathek fighter. However, Hajjnah defected in the late 2260's to the Terran Confederation to the TCS Viking, taking the blueprints of the Jrathek fighter with him. As a result, the Jrathek prototype was simulated in the Terran Confederation Space Naval Academy's Cyberschool's holographic simulator before it saw active service. Jrathek were serving with front line units by early 2272, where they were commonly used for reconnaisance missions. A Jrathek off the KIS Shiraak first located the TCS Lexington's vapor trails. The fighter briefly held a speed record as the fastest Kilrathi fighter.
Kamekh Class Corvette (Corvette Type 01)
The Kamekh Class was the standard Kilrathi corvette during the 2260's. In many ways the ship should be considered the functional equivalent of the Confederation Venture Class corvette. These ships were used for many roles by the Kilrathi including as escorts for battle groups, where the ships were often used as missile decoys for the capital ships, and in the role of scout. These ships are not especially fast, being slower to accelerate than the Ralatha Class destroyer. Even though comparatively small, these craft are too large to operate from large carriers but instead have to dock externally. Some large orbital bases have the ability to land the corvettes and the craft can also land on a planet.
Khar'hor Class Orbital Defense (Orbital Defense Type 03)
With the Khar'hor Class orbital defense stations the Kilrathi design for powerful defense platforms reached their ultimate zenith. The designers reverted back to less but broader runways for the stationed fighters, because the smaller ones in its predecessor had proven more vulnerable against attacks from Terran forces. The number of the fighters was once again stepped up by adding a detachment of heavy fighters which resulted in slighty overcrowded hangars. Armament of the station consisted of 2 dual mount particle cannons on top, 4 dual mount laser turrets below the station and 4 tachyon cannons around the station on weapon platforms.
Korlarh Class Fighter Bomber (Fighter Bomber Type 02)
The Kilrathi Korlarh Class fighter bomber was pressed into service shortly after the abortive Kilrathi attack on Earth. Housing a number of experimental weapon systems, this craft saw little action against Confederation ships, it mainly served as a defensive fighter against raiders and pirates. Also viewed as one of the "beta" craft that preceded the tech explosion between 2268 and 2269, the data collected on the performance of the experimental systems within would prove invaluable in the design of future Kilrathi fighter craft.
Krant Class Medium Fighter (Medium Fighter Type 02)
Operated around the same time as the Confederation Scimitar class medium fighter, the Krant has always had the reputation of being a solid fighter. The biggest weakness of the fighter is that it is comparatively lightly armed, mounted two laser cannons, a weapons array more commonly carried by light fighters. Common missions for the Krant was strikes against transports as well as acting as escort, where its ability to survive abuse allows it to protect it when lighter fighters would be destroyed. The fighters heavy armor meant it also was ideal for long range patrol. While it was never produced in the large numbers which the Dralthi medium fighter was, most fighters preferred the Krant over the lighter armored Dralthi.
Sweet! awesome midnight!
Kratokh Class Heavy Fighter (Heavy Fighter Type 01)
The Kratokh Class heavy fighter was to become the first heavy fighter in the arsenal of the later Imperial Forces. It drew its first blood during the Kilrathi Civil War, when the Tr'L Rass Clan used these fighters to repel the constant attacks of the T'kon Clan - they lost many of their fighters during that campaign. Armament of the Kratokh Class fighter consisted of two laser cannons, two mass driver cannons, one “Stalker” heatseeking missile and two “Paw” dumbfire missiles.
Thanks. There are still some more to come ...
Lumbari Class Colonyship
The Lumbari Class colonyships were based on the Dorkir Class freighter. The cargo pods were exchanged against colony modules and a few other minor changes were applied. Other than his Terran counterpart this kind of colonyship didn't offer much comfort during the trips in space. But by minimizing the comfort the Kilrathi were able almost to double the capacity for colonists on board. Another difference to the Terran City Class colonyships was that the Kilrathi colonyships were armed with several dual laser mounts on turrets for self defense. Until this difference was known to terran intelligence, numerous terran fighter pilots were dead.
*drools* well now I"m going to have to go ahead and make a kilrathi and terran side (guess terrans exist but I would make them different) when I actually get around to playing this game again. (as with me as well as you, r/l and other things have taken up most of my time)
you are going to share them right?............riiiiiighht?!?
Norgata Class Heavy Bomber (Heavy Bomber Type 02)
The Norgata Class heavy bomber was designed as a replacement for the aging Asjaka Class. They were built in the space docks around Kilrah. Because of the overwhelming successes with the Asjaka Class it was decided to stick with the original design of the forerunner model and to change only the rear part of the furselage with the wings and the engines. Armament of the Norgata Class heavy bombers consisted of 2 heavy disruptor cannons, 2 Particle Cannons, one torpedo launch tube and 3 dual mount laser turrets for defense against fighters,
Ralari Class Destroyer (Destroyer Type 01)
The Ralari Class destroyer was the most modern capital ship in Kilrathi's arsenal during the early stages of the Terran-Kilrathi War. By the mid-2250's, the Kilrathi fleet would include more than three thousand of the destroyers. The Kilrathi used these destroyers mainly as planetary assault ships and convoy escorts. During the Kurasawa Campaign, the Terran Confederation managed to capture a Ralari and chose to use it in battle. However, it was ambushed by four Grathas during this battle. The old and aging Ralari Class destroyers were finally replaced by the newer Ralatha Class destroyers.
Ralarrad Class Destroyer (Destroyer Type 03)
In the later stages of the Terran-Kilrathi War, the Kilrathi desperately needed to deploy more ships into their fleet, which brought the production of the Ralarrad class destroyer. These destroyers were deployed shortly before the Battle of Earth and were mainly used for escorts of convoys, carriers or task forces. Although not as strong as the Kilrathi heavy Destroyers, the Ralarrad Class destroyers performed their job well. One notable Ralarrad was the vessel that attacked Locanda IV during Operation: Unseen Death, the Kilrathi operation to eradicate the Locanda System. This ship fired five biological warheads at the planet while Confederation pilots tried to stop them, causing a virus to spread across the whole system and render it infectious.
Ralatha Class Destroyer (Destroyer Type 02)
The Ralatha Class destroyer was developed as a replacement of the old Ralari class destroyer. It is similar in design to the Confederation Gilgamesh class destroyer and is extremely powerful. It is developed on the Kilrathi design philosophy of heavy offensive and the aphorism "the best defense is a good offense" is almost perfectly epitomized by the Ralatha. The Ralatha carries a small number of fighters and the ability to carry fighters is one of the reason why the Kilrathi destroyer is slightly larger than its Confederation equivalent. These fighters are normally used as protection for the destroyer or ships it is escorting not for direct strike missions.
Ralaxath Class Heavy Destroyer
The Ralaxath Class heavy destroyer was a warship in the service of the Kilrathi Empire. These ships were the successors to the smaller Ralarrad Class destroyers, and were significantly larger and more powerful. Like almost all Kilrathi capital ships they carry fighters. Their history was very brief as these ships were only first deployed during the final year of the Kilrathi War in 2269. The Confederation first encountered these fearsome vessels when they invaded the Freya System in preparation for their attack on Kilrah. By then, the Kilrathi War was in its final stages.
Rigakh Class Light Cruiser (Light Cruiser Type 02)
The Rigakh Class light cruiser was designed to fulfill the wish of the Kilrathi navy for a supplement of the Ralatha Class destroyers. The destroyers were able to operate for themselves, but with the Rigakhs support them and forming small battlegroups, they became even more deadly. The Rigakh Class was also built to counter the Terran Tallahassee Class light cruiser, which the Kilrathi were encountering in large numbers. They were a bit faster than the Terran cruisers although they were heavier. Armament of the Rigakh Class consisted of 2 heavy netron guns, 2 antimatter guns in the wings, 5 heavy point defense mass drivers in dual mounts and 4 light point defense lasers in single mounts.
Salthi Class Light Fighter (Light Fighter Type 02)
The Kilrathi have always relied on light starfighters more than the Confederation. One of the best known design is that of the Salthi. The fighter was produced in huge numbers compared to any Confederation or even other Kilrathi design. Shields are a third less powerful than those which are mounted on the contemporary Confederation Hornet light fighter and mounts only about half the armor. While lightly armed, with two lasers and armored, the light starfighter is extremely fast and has been in service with the Kilrathi military for decades. While the fighter is outclassed by virtually all Confederation fighters, a swarm of these fighters can be extremely dangerous.
Sartha Class Light Fighter (Light Fighter Type 03)
Like the Salthi fighter which proceeded it, the Sartha was created to be a cheap and disposable fighter. The Kilrathi engineers replaced the lasers in the Salthi with neutron cannons. Large numbers of these light starfighters have been built and it is believed that the fighter is still operated in large numbers by the Kilrathi in secondary roles. It has been replaced in first line service by the Darket light fighter. In general role, the Kilrathi Sartha is a light fighter comparable to the Confederation Epee or Ferret light fighters.
Shoklar Class Light Fighter (Light Fighter Type 04)
The Shoklar may have been tagged as a light fighter by Kilrathi engineers, but it's battle performance was such that it became one of the most fearsome ships of it's time. Pressed into service shortly after the Kilrathi attack on Earth as a means of defending the Kilrathi borders from raiders and privateers until the fleet could be rebuilt, the Shoklar mounted a number of experimental weapon systems, the data from it's performance proving invaluable when brought into consideration for the Kilrathi fighter designs that would follow. In particular, the cloaking device that the Shoklar mounted, which was much more efficient than the one found on the Strakha prototype, would serve as the design paradigm for the Strakha Class stealth fighter bomber that would enter service in 2270.
Shr'tak Class Orbital Defense (Orbital Defense Type 01)
The Shr'tak Class orbital defense platform was a remainder from the brutal Kilrathi Civil War. It was huge for an orbital defense platform and armed to the teeth. Furthermore there were a handful of light and medium fighters stationed which could scramble in safety in short time using the two runways. Armament of the station consisted of 4 dual mount laser turrets beneath, 2 dual mount mass driver cannons above the station and 2 triple mount laser turrets on the upper weapon platforms alongside the station as well as 2 long-range missile launchers on the lower weapon platforms.
