I wonder when we can download the final retail version of Entrenchment. It is almost four hours past New Year's Eve. The official release is like RIGHT NOW, but only the beta version is online. Do we need to uninstall the beta version or would Stardock simply add more files to our beta version to make it the final release?
impatient much? Jan 1st lasts for a day when it hits Jan 2nd then it's late. I want the final version too but being impatient never helps.
If I'm not mistaken, it was originally scheduled for a November release, and was delayed to January 1. Any bets on whether it gets pushed back again?
I understand your impatience very well, my beta version keeps crashing (which the original never did, not even after each patch)
NO CTD's here, but there is an issue on balancing, and minesweeping. Sometimes the scout ships will detect and shoot down mines, othertimes they just sit there (and in my case, come rushing towards me as I play against advent).
tHEY'VE PUSHED IT BACK TO 2/4/09. We may get some patch downloads for entrenchment but I guess we have to wait a bit longer.....

Sigh.... this game suffers from more slippage than my underpants. Also waiting until the release date to announce a delay is just plain wrong. Ironclad and Stardock clearly knew long before the 1st Jan that it wasn't going to make the 1st of Jan so why keep people in a state of expectation then let them down at the last minute? Thats just not fair on your customers, so get a grip please!

lame lame lame lame lame. i logged on just so i could buy this expansion after its been saying jan 1st for months now. and then jan 1st... they push it back another month.
The Jan 1 date was a placeholder and was only meant to be there because Impulse required a date. This was stated many times and has been public knowledge from the beginning. Stop the drama.
sheesh peeps get a grip.. much better to wait for a product thats worth having, with all mentioned bugs and issues fixed.. imo stardock is wonderful, Iv been buying games online over 20 years and I can say without any reservation they are the best at listening to their customers on their forums and working to fix any problems in a timely manner.. afew days or weeks to wait when you know theyre working on delivering is not so much to ask
balancing mines and starbases doesnt take 4 months in my opinion....
the problem is that they didnt think of minesweepers or ways to sufficiantly deal with mines originally and now everyone is demanding them so now they have to not only creat something like that but also get it too balance with everything else. just creating might not take long but balancing is a painfull task

I think it is great that there is such a great game, I for one do not mind the wait. I want a polished product, and i game with this all the time, both single player and multiplayer with a dedicated group that meets on ironclad. we have all un-installed the entrenchemtn for now, after playing it since it's -pre-release. and we will play it again once it is done.
We have essentially paid for the final retail version. Only those of us who paid for it are given the privilege to try out the beta version of Entrenchment.
Quit pissing and moaning, they're developing the Stardock "release a finished product" way, not the Atari/EA/EveryoneElse "release it on time, have it playable within 6 months on most computers" way.
So it's late. Shit happens. They're not being dishonest, they told you their best guess, their "goal", which they haven't met. Who cares? At least it will be decent when it's finally finished. Seriously, I promised to finish a mod (for another game) over 2 years ago. I really should finish those last few textures one of these days.
No problem here with not releasing the retail on january 1st.
The beta is playable and if from time to time there's an update or fix I'll be happy to test it...
