DSX is the DSAII and only 2 ships where completed this is the original data The save andromeda site is a backup of the original and canon site and i'm relying on it but sadly it's the only source i know
The kodiac where one of the nietzscheans clan don't warrie they will be in the players name wit the Drago-Kazof ,the Saber the Jaguar and many other prides named in the series
and the dsx acording to the number of sensor was almost blind
and the DSAII was the wrath of achilies class and the balance of judgement was the brother ship
Not so huge... the siege perilous class is only 666 meter long... The Andromeda is 1301 meter long... Victory Crucible class is around 1 km... his power come from his numerous missile launcher ( 180 of them !!! )
Unlocking NOVA bombs as a tech may instead be entered into the game as "relics" on planets. And then only in limited supply once they are found. Perhaps 5 out of 40 planets on a map could contain a cache.
A message to your enemies saying that you have found nova bombs would also spice things up
Also as an offshoot to this a Planet that may be found could be the "highguard" lost remnants? The children of Higuard that were lost for generations. Whoever finds them first has them as automatic allies! Or at least whomever captures the planet.
Pirates offcourse existed but would need an overhaul.
Also what about the wormhole that opens only sometimes and allows access to the mechanical sun system? Something could be done with that. Not that they had much Tech.

granyte the last season of Andromeda happened in some kind of alternate universe that turned out to be a mechanical\artificial solar system.
ya the tarn vedra sistheme isolated by thier crazy device
but the sistheme had nothing interesting in fact it made the andomeda serie become boring

Have already think about both problem... but my reply will be oriented to 7DS who have already some new ability...
In 7Ds, you have already a black hole... it have a huge gravity ( slow, almost stop, movement ) and make a lot of damage...
What thinking to use these ability for the PSP... PSP launch mini black hole... it will almost stop any target and destroy it almost directly... the thing to make is that these ability can be reused after a very long time... it will allow people to kill one capital ship, a starbase or any other thing directly but can be used only one time... Sure that a Andromedian AI will use it on the first target ( can be a little frigate ) but we cannot mod the AI, it is harcoded...
For the Maggog, use the "computer control" from the rogue or the "assimilation" from the Borg ( first one is already working in the actual version of 7DS 2.0, the other is one project )... they allow to take control of a ennemy ship after some time and these ship will become yours... the "assimilation" from the Borg is more interesting in your case because it allow assimilation of planet too... no need of bombardment... with time, it take planet... a little like when maggog visit a planet, fill some people with eggs and with time, you have a new maggog world...
A lot of thing are possible... and nothing stop you to use/modify code already existing... simply ask friendly to the people who have create it... for the Borg, ask "Loki", i think that he use the same nick here... for the "rogue", go to the 7DS forum but i think that the "pirate" from "Evil Tesla" have similar code...
For info, from the 1.05 to the 1.12 version of sins, without Entrenchment, it is possible to build starbase... so, if you wish, you can make a HighGuard Starbase... remember these with the young child who sufffer of radiation leak !!!
Don't know if you have some interest... i have some "drawing" for possible highguard ship ( commonwealth collector Cruiser, HighGuard Battleship, HighGuard Troop Transport, HighGuard Berear of Swords, HighGuard Siege Cruiser, etc... )... they are not from me but from someone who have send it to me when i was trying to make a High Guard mod...
If the sins 1.12 don't break the harcoded limit of mesh and texture, i think that i will be free for create new model for you around begin February... I am not a very good modeler but you can see some model that i have made during the Christmas holiday for "the Dark" race ( it replace the actual Vasira ship ):
For the UV map, i am not bad too but for the texturing, i am very bad...just finish today the "color" texturing of the NG_Karranstra, really not happy with it... but if you like it, i will be able to make similar work for the andromeda mod...but it is better if you can find some real artist able to make great texture ( be carefull, texturer are a rare species )...
hum that might be interesting for the point singulariy weapon but i will look if there is no possibilitie to make the habilitie use the mass data in the entity file of the target as a dmg multiplicator or some thing if it's impossible ill look to it
assimilation or such might be an alternative but A.I. controled ships like the XMC or such would never turn to the enemy even after they lost thier entire crew as long as the A.I. is active and that where i'm stuck cause it don't know how to make an habilitie make you imune to an other
also i was thinking about some thing like the swarm ships would have 2 habilitie or one that have 2 habilitie but the second efect would need fo the swam ship to stay close to the target for the time needed to take over the ship
ps the nietzscheans would have and A.I. erasor abilitie far in thier three
Starbase in sins wit out entrenchment i didn't knew that and i even less know how to write a such code but it's realy interesing i will get more into this

any ship desing will be welcome when we will come to the ships we ethier never saw but have the data or we need to create from our imagination

In reality, you can create almost any ability you wish... the important file are the buff file... you can make a new ability woho use some of the buff file...
Like say up, you can make a ability calling several buffer... or a other ability... buffer run with conditions... you can make that one condition stop a buffer and that the same condition start a other one...
Again buffer things.... but i inform you that it will look badly on screen... the sins engine don't make the collision detection related to the mesh but to the box surrounding the mesh... so, onscreen, some swarm ship will not be in physical contact with the target ship... it is very similar to the ramming problem that we try to resolve on 7DS...
Not really difficult... oftweel, you make the starbase being a orbital structure ( more poly ) or a capitalship ( more ability )... only difference with Entrenchment is that the starbase cannot upgrade... so you need it fully ready... who mean directly a lot of money/cristal/metal else the game play is break down

For modeling, it is not very different that the high guard ship... a lot of curve who eat poly in a fast way... for the texturing, it was asked a hydrid between organic/symbiotic/technic... the textured model here was created when i have find a arachnid in my bath !!! Problem with texture is that i am used to work on texture who have minimum 10000 pixel square... sins is limited to 2048... can use 4096 but the engine have difficult...
They was saw but briefly... maybe a few frame in the serie... for example, the collector cruiser in the film :

They are using the particule system... particule is something out of my limit... one thing, it have work in the case of the B5 mod because all was centered around one single axe... will be very difficult for the blade... almost impossible for the turret...
It is why i have put the turret outside on my model of the andromeda... and only 4 of them, normally, it is 8 but i have the poly limit...
PS: if you need any screenshot, ask me... i have all the episode from andromeda... and there is more ship that these show in the internet database... by example, the nietzscheans have some huge capital ship too...
i adreal know how to write habilities (and buf) bu it seam like i missed the part where we can use data from the target ill look futher into it if i can make it
well as long as the ships who are using the habilities needed to capture a ship are not flying around at full capacitie i don't really care and like we saw in the first ep of s02 the 2 robot might or any thing like this could have given them a reason to move away from the hul
the battle blades can be cheated to make the engine belive they are 1 particle around a central point ill look if i can get how this work
for the turret it has been stated that it was impossible to have tracking turet so having half work is useless so they are better staying how they are

Very simple to make... once they start a "capture" ability, add the following to your buf file :
numEntityBoolModifiers 2entityBoolModifier "DisableLinearEngines"entityBoolModifier "DisableAngularEngines"
Don't forget to add one or more finish condition else the ship will never move again...
The robots... they are cute :
Normally, turret are INSIDE the ship until they are needed... have shot coming from inside a ship is really ugly... it is why i have made a half work, and put them outside... when shoot, origine of the particule effect can be the cannon itself...

When i will have time, i will review all the episodes... sure that at the end, i will have around 100 different ship... If i good remember, the "Knights of Genetic purity" have some powerfull ship too and a very big good armored capital ship... for some ship, i am not able to say what race or what class... by example, the next screenshot show a ship who appear in a huge battle where the new commonwealth fleet is defeated... who are they ? I don't know but they was from one of the race who was part of the new commonwealth...
For info, once i have finish my actual work, my first new model will be the "Maggog world ship"... have already begin work on it... will not be fully like in the serie due to some poly count limit... in one or two week, i will be free... i don't need texture anymore, only create the UV and template since they have not like my texturing...
When you work on a mod, use the devs version of sins... you will have log about everything... the exe file can be found in the modtools...
i know that i'm talkin about thedev exe who don't tell me what hapened
Ok... maybe a problem with .net ... all mod tools need .net 2.0 ... don't know if it work with older and newer version of .net ... if it is not the problem, i don't know... maybe the VB runtine who is used by a lot of thing?

I,Ve fixed that it was just the dev exe unable to tell me where i made a stupid mistake writing the code
now i have a working boadring script that disable the guy boading while capturing the ships (next step implemen failing pourcentage)
ships equiped wit A.I. are imune to it
(prob boarded ships will lose speed and power while being boarded or until they are repared and recrewed)

Love the Gifs too, I'd forgotten about the extra firepower they got from those bots. The bots always looked out of place though compared to their other tech. I mean they look crude compared to the smooth lines of the ships for instance.
U know when I watched the series I was always waiting for a more real enemy to arrive. I mean the nitzians and the mgog always seemed like less worthy or at least non-conventional opponents
I mean what were the nitzians allied with the Highguard against? Did the Mgog not come a little later in the piece?
The comonwealth was a union of all sisheme to bring peace, freedoom and security for all it's members (at leats at the time of it's fall befor it was the vedran empire) so in fact earth joined the comonwealth and then Dragomussevini (a human) created the nietzscheans wit a modification of his own genetic (and the genetic of beka according to$%?&&?%$%? s05) so the nietzscheans where a part of the comonwealth because human where and they are just some superhuman
then they faced the pyrians and etc some other spicies oposed little resistences to the vedran and later to the comonwealth but most of the time the high guard didn't had to fight
The magog are the eason why the nietzscheans betraed he comonwealth they where afraid that the peace betwen the comonwealth and the magog would allow the magog to wait until the comonwealth become weaker and then strike but that exactly wha they did aweakened all the known space allowing the magog to invade planets

Ok, soon, i will have a little more time... a recent work incident have lead to minor problem on my eyes and have delay all my work for 1 or two week... i have only to finish one ship for the EvilTesla pirate mod and i will be able to begin the magog world ship...
Do you always need it? Maybe you have already a other modeler working on it? Do you have a 2D designer in your team? If yes, i can maybe first maje the UV and template from the previous ship, it will allow the 2D designer to texture them... I hope these mod is not dead
nah the projec is not death at least as far as i know it's not lol i was just to lazy t update the thread here (ps there is a web site tha i kept upating btw)

i effectively have found an other 3d modeler a very good one who does the uv and texturing (i'm testing him to see what he can do wit an XMC) but i think he will goes crazy if he have to do all the models for the mod
