Is it really true that when you buy SoaSE and link your CD-key to an account, they stay together forever and thus screw over anyone unfortunate enough to buy a used copy containing that CD-key?
I deserve to die because of Stardock's greedy and unethical business practises? Okay, that makes sense.
What propaganda?
(duplicate)
Jesus pissing Christ this forum software sucks.
Why are you guys still humoring this one. All and let me type this again ALL of epiclulz points and arguments(if you can call it that) have been blown out of the water as if by vasari minespam.
Let it rest. If epiclulz is the only one commenting in this dead horse of a thread it will be like real life. Just a single lonely voice in your own head.
Only one ting left to say. Stardock/ironclad/devs/moderators please..... end the torture.
/thread
No they haven't.
Yes in fact they have. You have brought in foreigh countries, ignorence and the moon in as arguments..........wait what. Next you will blame societies negative effect on the youth because violent video games teach people how to kill and pirate. or whatever. None of your arguments hold water. Not to anyone with more than 3 braincells to rub together
Everybody(and I have counted at least 50 different users) now thinks that you are just doing this for your own personal amusement. You have no grounds for your claims. You REFUSE utterly and completely to even agknloage ANYBODY elses opinion or relevant RESEARCHED FACTS.
Stop your whining. YOU HAVE BEEN BEATEN. Nobody likes a crybaby. Grow up, get a life.
[quote who="epiclulz" reply="1" id="2008393"]Quoting The_Regicide, reply 23Epiclulz... go die in a fire.I deserve to die because of Stardock's greedy and unethical business practises? Okay, that makes sense. What greedy unethical business practises! They are the ones who camne up with my beloved Gamers Bill of Rights for PC gaming. GO TO EA! check them out. you get limited # of installs for a game you bought (therefore makign you feel like you only rented it) They install intrusive software such as SecuROM on your HD without you knowing (untill you read the EULA, in other countires that is illegal unless you are told at the time of purchase). So yes go die in a fire you fuckin wak job.
WOW...you're just ignorant and don't even deserve to own any games. Are you so tight that saving an extra $10 - $20 matters to you that much? If you are, then like I said...you don't even desreve to be classified as a gamer. Only as a complete ASS, especially after posting all of the posts you have in this thread.
Get a life, ASS.
To re-iterate many earlier posts...ther is ABSOLUTELY NO DRM on this game. You're are comletely IGNORANT if you truley believe otherwise.
MORON!!!
This is called denial.
denial by you while you still continue to beat a dead horse. You have no arguments here.
and as I said earlier...YOU ARE AN ASS.
I love how he completely ignores the parts about EA giving limited installs. Chances are he's going to ignore this post too though as it doesn't follow his points.
Now may I point out that despite insults by definition Spydr is right.
There is no DRM in Sins. What there is is a system requiring a login to get access to certain features like update and multiplayer. This login system is present in:
Most EA Games
Every Steam Game
Nearly every other PC Game
I close with laughing at how long this thread has continued and asking once again as you ignored my question earlier.
Referring to your original point: What mainstream store sells PC games second hand??????
People just buy them, dload no CD cracks then return or sell them back!!!! No Store in my country does second hand PC so I have no idea where you live but the retailers there must be douchebags
Sure there are a few second hand games from like the 80s but these days every game can be cracked and so has DRM.
Please try to actually respond to this rather than attack TheSpydr's post and ignore all my points
Well at least I learnt something usefull from you
Finally you get it, only took 14 pages
Taking the whole thing in contex, this is what you have been doing since page 2 when you ran out of arguments
Blah, blah, blah you sprout some 3word 1liner up to full sentances, c'mon your almost there. you seem to be realising very very slowly just how much ppl dislike you. Im guessing about 5 more pages of this and you should get there. We will hold your hand through this difficult time. We understand.
ok, sorry I just cant lie like that with a straight smile(y) Youve been served
Please stop using it.
Please keep the discussion civil. If you can't respond to someone else's arguments, do NOT attack them, call them stupid, or tell them to go die in a fire.
If the attacks keep up, the thread will be closed.
OK, Zoomba, I'll try to behave.
In my humble opinion, this thread should've been closed 13 pages ago
Can I ask you a serious question?
You have stated multiple times how pissed you are at SD/IC and have admitted to not owning the game anymore...now with this post, you are trashing the forums.
Why do you even waste 1 second of your day and life to come back here to continue an argument that really shouldn't mean anything to you anymore? Just curious.
Other than punishing epiclulz (who could create a new post) what would we gain?
If you are tired of it stop reading or responding. Problem solved, right?
While true, the reason I said it was because the original concern was quite sufficiently answered (more than once, even) on the first page of the thread. Then it just devolved into pointless argument over, well, pretty much nothing because unlike many philosophical debates and arguments, this one has a clear definition of "right" and "wrong" based on the EULA, Sins' lack of copy protection, etc. No-one can reasonably argue against things that are set in stone as fact, no matter how much they wish, and these arguments can never lead anywhere productive because it's like arguing that the Earth is not round
It is entertaining because it's interesting to see just how much people can twist things, but honestly if the only reason it was allowed to continue was because it would be informative to future readers, page 1 really is sufficient
False. You can install SoaSE on all the computers in the world using the same disc. And every single one of them would be playable at the very same time.
This is not possible with EA games.
Furthermore, you can install and uninstall SoaSE on the same computer over and over again until you die, without using the CD key once. And of course it's playable every single time.
This is not possible with a lot of the newer EA games (with older ones, possibly).
Having said that . . we try to have a very hands-off approach to the forums. Unless the TOS is violated (and often only to an extreme degree) we try to stay out of it. We want the forums to be open and for people to feel that they can say what they need to say.
As mythbusters say; if doing it doesn't do it - overdo it. ^^
The DVD version of Sins of a Solar Empire has no DRM. There is no code in the game, or on the disc that limits what a user can do with it. Install it all you like. Play it all you like.
The problem you're running into is that we do not support used copies. We are not limiting your ability to use your purchased game. We are simply not providing you support or any post-release content. You get what you paid for, but nothing else.
With Sins we actually provided patches up through 1.05 for standalone download. It's only after 1.1 that we ended that. So for this game we gave the used folks a bit of a freebie.
But there is a difference between support policies and Digital Rights Management.
You're talking to a brick wall, Zoomba. That's what lead me to pyromancy in the first place.
