I've been slowly moving from RTS/TBS/strategy hybrids like Total War with plenty of action to pure TBS/strategy games that aren't heavy in the action department. I'm finding that the more a video game simulates a board game feel, the more I like it. The Europa Universails series seems incredibly deep, but I was scared away by GalCiv2 for years and have finally begun to learn it and love it. So would anyone recommend the Europa Universalis for a player like me?
EUIII plus the two exapansions are on sale this weekend for $17.99 a piece on Impulse.
Don't want to stir a rambling SD sales dept reaction here by saying this but, i luckily bought this Paradox title for 10$CDN (printed Manual included) in a bargain shelf just a month ago. Too busy with GC2 modding stuff lately to install it and yet, i figured it was a pretty good deal at that price. Sounds about right.
Yes, I too recently found EUIII Complete at post-Xmas deep discount for ten bucks. Felt a little naughty for scoring such a bargain from a practically independent company, but I couldn't pass it up. Came with a ginormous map and a bunch of stickers, but no printed manual. In fact, that's what's keeping me from starting the game--need to read the manual thorougly, but hate reading on a screen. Getting excited about finally tackling the game though!
Somewhat off-topic, but if you are in any way in love with games like the EU series, you should really read Paradox dev diary for Hearts of Iron 3. Superb reading! And, if you go by the dev-diary HoI 3 could become a classic.
And yes, EU 3 is a beautiful game, especially with the 2 expansions.
And now the EU3: Complete version is for sale ($30):

My free weekend just became busier. A big thanks to SD for making this bundle available.
Good price!
Downloaded the game(s) last night and just waiting for some quiet time to sit down and study the game mechanics.
I'm looking forward to delving into the beefy political, diplomacy and religious aspects of the game.
If you are a true grognard you will love it and simply forget all about time and eating and other such annoyances.
Can anyone who got the complete version of this help me, i have just bought it and cant get the game registered, i have 1 serial key for eu3 complete but the game isnt listed in the drop down games list when i want to add the registration, only the individual games are, of which the key doesnt work on.
had this a day now and still cant get it working
You should post about it on the PI forums and maybe send a PM to King or if you got it via GG post in the GG help section.
cheers but have done this and had no response yet, doesnt seem to be frequently visited, was hoping a busier forum may be better

ive emailed stardock also, but shut til monday now im guessing, and really wanted to play this game
Zubaz would likely be the man here to deal with if you cant play the game from Impulse.
