Thinking of picking this up this weekend, since it's only $4. Any ideas or comments for me before I shell out all of that $$$$$$.

I've done three land battles since the Mauna Roa mission, and they were all ridiculously easy in comparison. Don't know why they made the first one so hard, but the rest are easy money.
The text quests are a lot of fun, too. They make you do all sorts of crazy stuff.
I've noticed, however, that there isn't a whole lot of information about this game available. The official forums are dead, there aren't any fansites, and even Gamefaqs doesn't have anything more than a collection of random tips that were copied from a thread on TotalGaming.net. I can't believe there isn't any community around such an awesome game.
Anyway, I'm working on a guide. Never done one before, but it sounds like fun.
I finally did it! red took over the mountain's robot factory and kicked green out of the game, but left the mountain's robot factory ungaurded. While the mountain was mostly neutral i took over as much as I could and then got the factory. You just have to wait for that golden opportunity. After you get the mountain, just build up the best turrets and have a healer bot or two at the west enterances or wherever red is coming from and its pretty easy from there. The hardest part is definitely just getting in the mountain. Thanks for your help Jalicos, I just made your robots with the 3 launcher+1 stunner/antigrav/mortar/range combo and the 4xhealer bots and it worked great.

Congratulations on winning. If there's a harder mission, I don't want to see it.
I've played though on medium, and I'm currently trying a mixture of medium and hard.
I'm mostly trying to cope having put the Dominators on hard, since they get one system after another and the Coalition is unable to free any system. And since my starting (or slightly upgraded) ship cannot defeat a single tiny Dominator ship, I cannot contribute to the effort.
Does anyone has suggestion on how to stem the Dominator tide long enough for me to play merchant/pirate/quest monger?
