Hello all, yesterday for the second time (while playing the newest version of Sins) I have attacked last enemy home planet together with my ally (over 200 ships with advanced weapons), and while we were destroying his last planet, he came only with one capital ship and suddently within one minute he destroyed completely all our ships by this one - befor he begun to to so, I have realized, that all of our ships suddenly have lost all of their health...
I have immediatelly written message, that it is not possible to do so without cheating, and he claimed, that it is normal, that I sould read forum to know this...
Please, have you already experienced something similar in this newest version of this game?
It happend now for the second time and I am convinced, he was cheating, also I realized, that on some web-sites there are some special trainers available claiming to add much more health or money or remove it from enemy ships...
Is it possible to cheat this way in multiplayer game?
If so, how can we block these cheaters?
I was completely fed-up with such behaviour and ended the game.
What do you recommend???
Thanks in advance for your help

No really...I cannot honestly think of any words that can describe what i'm feeling right now. I'd say dissapointment but that dosent seem to be quite severe enough...for being a writer I curse my vocabulary for not having a single word in my arsenal that can convey the feeling of wanting to add clorox to the gene pool of the human race, this is what your question has made me feel in my heart, mind and gut.
Okay...
Step one: Play your game...recommend single player, easy, and Play TEC against one opponent
Step dos: Build a Marza dreadnought, now get it leveled up to level 6...
Step trois: Choose Missile barrage as your level 6 ability...now find yourself a sizeable enemy fleet, maybe a pirate base or something...now activate the ability.
Step Quadese: Come back here and tell us what happened.
A level 6 Marza can indeed destroy a huge fleet of ships if they are all bunched up and close to the Marza. But by the same token, 200 ships can kill a lone Marza before they themselves are destroyed. You will know for next time if you see a level 6 Marza to either kill it very fast, or not put all your ships right next to it when it has enough Antimatter for Missile Barrage. Just splitting up your ships so it couldn't get all of them would have saved most of your fleet.
he said his fleet was 200 ships?
no single cap ship can kill 200 ships?
unless it was a colony ship fleet
Moral of the story. If you see a lone Level 6 Marza innocently approaching your large fleet in what appears to be a retarded suicide attack...run away!
Hello! Yes, a lvl 6 Marza can if they are all bunched up frigates.
Someone set up us the Marza!
Or just start shooting it.... a lone Marza will melt under the combined firepower of 200 ships. A Marza with repair bays or Hoshiko's....different story...RUN AWAY!
That's why it's hard for me to believe that this is the issue. Auto-attack would have vaporized the capship, and even if there were a decent number of targets in the gravwell, I'd think any player would right-click the thing moving towards their fleet and then doing significant damage. Capships would be alerting pretty quickly that they were dying and you'd figure out what was shooting them.
Whole thing sounds made-up. If there is someone cheating online, I'd love to know how they're managing such a feat.
How about you either go back and review the replay, or post it so someone can analyse it. Without any evidence to support you accusation, I would have to agree with everyone else as it was the same thought I had before I read their replies - Lvl 6 Marza...
As I understand it, unless there is a desync issue, it has been theorised that it is impossible to cheat at Sins by using a trainer or hacking values etc... due to the way it simluates on every PC (it is running P2P).
This link explains why it should be theoretically impossible

The only thing that CAN be done is to exploit a bug, such as the one that caused the 1.11 patch to be released.
Dear guys, thank you very much for your answers!!!!!! I didn´t mention it in my writing intentionally, that the alone cap ship, which has destroyed all our armies, was indeed Marza cap ship!!! And you are now confirming, that only Marza level 6 (I guess the highest level) can do that!
So than I have following questions: Is Marza the only capital ship from all available in Sins, which can do that???
Is there any possible defense against such a capital ship???
I the moment this cap ship has destroyed our over 200 ships (there were no cap ships among them), I was looking on antoher planet, so I realized only few seconds afterwards, that there is suddenly only rest of my dying fleet and one Marza cap ship almost dead, but it survived...
I am playing on-line Sins for at least 3 months, I have won almost all games, but I didnt know about this ability... where can I learn much deeply about these possibilities for advanced players?
Thanks very much again for your patience and time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Marza gets the ability at level 6, Missile Barrage. It is channeld and CAN BE INTERRUPTED! You can use things like an Akkan Ion Bolt, or Marauder Phase out Hull, or the Advent caps sleepy ability on the ship I can't remember its name....there are a couple others too, I think.
The main thing is to be careful! You could hit the Marza with bombers from a distance, or try to get your ships out of the blast radius, or just focus all of your firepower on the Marza before it has time to channel all the damage and kill your fleet. It takes a big fleet to do the latter, though.
Other ships have abilities that can cause a lot of damage to groups of ships, like Kortul explosive nanites, or the Radiance cleansing brilliance, Progenitor Malice. Nothing is as powerful as the Marza right now for AoE damage, it is king.
First of HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!!! diddent we just have this convasation in the strategy forum
The Marza is the only ship that can do it alone, but it is also the easiest to stop as it is a 20sec channeld abillity.
But if you don't have any ships that can interupt it it is still possible to avoid getting killed, just move your ships out of range. But as you can see the defences against it requires you to spot it, you did not and you died, you live you learn ^^
And you can learn more in the strategy section of this forum, read the stickies there and follow the forum
Good luck
/kruppe.
Thanks again for quick answer, when you wrote: "But if you don't have any ships that can interupt it it is still possible to avoid getting killed, just move your ships out of range.", to "interupt" means to destroy the ship, or it is possible to "interupt" by using other means? And with the range: how long is the range of this Marza cap., or how can I recognize, that e.g. my capital ships are out of range of this Marza? And it is sure, that all embedded ships will inevitably die, when attacked by Marza???
looks like im gona go tec with 10 marza's tonight
Well killing it will ofcause interupt it, BUT there are many other ways to do it. All races have capital ships with disabeling abillities --> Ion bolt- phaze out hull - etc etc etc
The range of the missile barrage is 10000 and with a little though/practice it is not hard to judge, and if 3 frigs are still getting hit who cares.
finnaly check out https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/forum/404 as i said, we just had a long *serius* thread about the marza and all the info you want is in the stickies.
Kruppe, you are wonderful, thanks again for your time and effort by answering my beginner´s questions...
Are you still playing the Sins? If so, is it possible to let me know, when you will be on-line to play either with or against you?
And is there some walkthrough or quid (not for beginners) on the web, which can reveal much more to advanced player?
I like this game from the beginning, it has incredible possibilities and I regard this game as best strategy and logical game ever released, it is much better than chess (and I like chess), the only thing I do mind is, that I have only little time to eat...
I only don´t understand, what does it mean e.g. "3000dmg" over 25 sec - is it hull value??? And also I don´t understand next sentence: -"-shield migitation (without doing the math for all races and ship, im geussing it lands at about 2000 dmg to each ship in range IF it is allowed to run for ir's full duration)"
Do you have still time to explain? (if not, I will not complain...)
any time.
With finals comming up m in fullblown reading mode, so no time for online play atm, i'll be back though:)
Not raelly, After the basic points are covered in guides, it becomes impossible to to compile the possibillities to guide form. There are just to many veriables. what unit counters what, when to skip counters what points on a map has what stratigic importance and so on. very few games have fans dedicated enough to make guides like that without making any mony.
Basicly when you reach a certain point, it becomes a matter of just following the forums to pick out any tiny bit of info out there and finding the spreadsheets ppl have made to explain some point or another. A good example is the tradeport talk going on atm, lots of ppl have theroies and idears but noone really knows... after some time has passed the theroies will be proven or disproven and we now have a new piece of information. when we know that we can start thinking on the strategic implementations of it on diffrent maps and for the difrent races, that will then result in some formulas for how to build tradeports most effeciently that can be put in guideform --- BUT if that guide should then cover all maps and races you're looking for a booksize for a guide that just covers 1 small aspect of the game.
A ship dies when it reaches 0hull, but before it even starts to do dmg to the Hull of the ship it must overcome the shields of the ship--->
That means that if a ship has 600 Hull and 900Shield you will need to hit it for 1500dmg before you kill it.
If you try that you will find that the ship is still alive after you deal 1500dmg to it, THAT is because of shield migitation--> Shieldmigitation is the shields abillity to nullify a certain % of the dmg it recives(if you mouseover a ship you will see that it says 15% shield migitation on the innfo card) The way it works is just like reallife stabproof wests, it's all soft but the more power you apply the harder it gets so you need even morepower to punch through- in the game it starts at 15% maing that if you do 100dmg you are really only doing 85 furthermore it increases the more dmg you apply untill it caps out at ( i think it's 65% for non advent). At 65% doing 100dmg would only result in 45 actual dmg done.
The way the Marza's missile barage abillity works is
Missile Barrage (ultimate ability)Level available: 6Antimatter cost: 150Cooldown time: 240Affects: enemy frigates, capital ships and structures Range: self Area radius: 10000 Max targets: infiniteDuration: 25 Interruptable ChannelingEffect(s): Missile salvos: 20 Salvo interval: 1.25 Damage per salvo: 150Notes: The important thing to note about this ability is that it's channeling, so it will stop if you give the Marza other commands while it's firing, and that it takes a long time to finish. Turn off auto-everything when using this lest your capital ship decide it's a good time to, say, auto-attack a scout in the middle of your barrage. Again, the in-game info doesn't really describe what this ability does. Namely, while it's firing, the Marza shoots missiles at every target within range, each of which does 150 damage. If uninterrupted, the Marza will shoot 20 multiple-target missile salvos over 25 seconds. Obviously, this is best used against clusters of enemy targets around the Marza. Given that the Marza can't really move while firing, an enemy can move their ships out of range (or just interrupt the ability), but enemy structures within range and ships that don't notice the copious number of explosives spewing out of the Marza are fair game.
Each salvo deals 150dmg it fires 20slavoes = 3000 dmg
If we set the shield migitation to be maxed out from the start (65%) it wold really only do 1350dmg to each ship, but asit take a while to get the migitation all the way up im geussing it ends up being around 2000 to each
BTW shieldmigitation is allways activ even when the shields are at 0 power
and has been invented to counter the traditional tactial choice to just focus fire, if you have all your ships fireing on just 1 enemyship you loose 65% of you dmg if you spread your fire you loose less but give him time to repair / replace ships as the ships taking dmg dies slower
Btw, if notice, the range blast range of this ability is quite huge (omg 10000), that means.....
If you didn't act fast enough, do not have any units to interrupt, and just see Mazda shooting missiles, the chances are that more than 50% of your army is gone after 20 sec, while other 50% of your army is heavily damaged already.
Be careful when you are against TEC players (usually the ones choose Mazda as their first cap).
The ultimate solution is really, stop spamming LRMs and get some cruisers and carriers. Unless he uses TWO mazdas, heavy cruisers can withstand the barrage, and carriers are normally located on behind the battle front.
i find this thread very amusing. its rather funny because i was accused of cheating just last night during a 5 way ffa. defeated 1 player(he was fighting on 2 fronts). proceeded to focus on a 3rd econ boost while uppign research, fleet size, and mopping up. the mopping up enabled my marzda to hit lvl 6. then i moved in on the player that previously fought the one i elimated. that was a pretty intense battle and immediately noticed 3 kols and 4 sovas along with a number of hc, hoskitos, lrf and carriers. funny thing is, he didnt focus fire my marzda and at the same time, clustered his fleet so close that when he signaled to attack a specific ship he missed and instead gave the order to move in. this brought his entire fleet within range so i went ahead an fired off an emp charge from my dunov, then maganitize, then i sent in the radiation bomb and followed up with the beautiful barrage.during this time he was building/bring in renforcements but still managed to lose roughly half his fleet. while he was focused on crankin out ships and directing them into battle, my marzda managed to 2 more barrages off(thats how long this battle was). after losing just about everything, he went off on me and accused me of hacking, etc etc etc, calling me names and what not. i politely pointed out that he made the mistake of allowing my marzda to fire off not 1 but 3 different missle barrages.
needless to say, he continued the abuse for a few more minutes while staging a last shot coup(still ignored the marzda) which didnt last long, and then quit. right after quiting, the last human player decided to move in on the other end of the empire(ah my investment of defenses/repairs and newly formed fleet paid off rather quickly!). his fleet was far superior to mine, but the repairs were nice in keeping on top of things. i was losing ships left and right. quickly depleating my massive econ, i geared up and built lrf enmasses(had ship build speed research capped out) and attempted to hold ground until my main fleet could jump in(7 planets away). during this time my newly created marzda in the new fleet leveled up to 6 quickly so i unleashed barrage which did considerable damage. right after wards my original marzda arrived and unleashed barrage. at that point the player was pumping kodias like crazy from 4 different planets. i noticed my ships all of a sudden started taking heavy losses(the lrfs) so i looked and lo/behold!!!! he had a lvl 8 marzda(curses!!!). swiched gears and focus fired on that marzda with everythingi had. once it was taken out, i was able to fire off several more barrages and after that point, the the game was over. the entire time, the player didnt say anything. he just promptly quit.
in other words, marzdas are dangerous... take it out asap, even if it isnt lvl 6, dont run the risk of allowing it to get to that lvl during battle. if you see more than 1, ur in serious trouble. while the marzdas have incredible firepower(about time tec had something!), they are weak health/shield wise and can be easily taken out. any cap that is focus fired is basically screwed. but for a marzda to fare/survive well in a large fleet battle, the dunov and hoskitos are a must.
Next time I will play the game as usually with TEC and achieve my capital ship Mazra stage 6, I will warn all my enemies, that I have this ship and have possiblity to destroy all of their ships, because I don´t find it funny, if I will destroy my enemy fleet if enemy doesn´t know about this ability of my cap. ship. Than it will be much more funny: If they will trust me, they can flight away from their planet and I can easily colonize them, if not, I can destroy them (obviously with reasonable health reserve to be prepared for attack) and they will know, that I warnd them before and will not accuse me of cheating...
I will definitely do it this way, the game will be than much much more funny and fair to my enemies, who has no clue about this ability, because otherwise I will (may be) win only one time, next time they will count with that possibility anyway.
E.g. in my last game I suggest, that I will intend to use this Marza ability, and before game started, all switched to TEC and soon after game start, two of my three enemies have attacked my main planet (although they were pretty far from my main planet) and (of course) destroyed all my staff over there, with exeption of my cap Mazra and few javelise frigades, which I sent to main planet of one of these enemies and with my ally destroyed this main planet - in the meanwhile he leaved my main planet to defend his main planet (it was too late, because two marza cap. ships with planet bombardement ability were bombarding his planet, so it was very fast to destry it completely) and I recovered...
So even it can seem lost in the beginning, good strategy can recover that all...
it was me, i was the cheeter, smurffing.
i remeber how i jumpped in only the marza, pingged your fleet and had a good laughts in TS with my DT clan mate.
Also, your tears were delicios.
