I just thought it might be interesting to have a map where there are creeps coming from more then one team at each other.
One idea of mine is a map with four corners where creeps go along the sides of the map directly to their nearest neighboring enemies, and then another stream of creeps that go directly accross the map to the opposite corner's team but there's fighting between every team's creeps in the middle.
Something like this:
An alternate form of this is that there is a height factor so in the middle 1/4 path goes over the 2/3 path and they don't meet at all as there could be a lot of problems with creeps meeting in the middle.
That is a good idea but maybe the middle could be a flag with a portal and who ever gets it gets and extra portal. The portal would be able to attack all enemy players or u could make it attack 1 player. Also their wopuld be no towers defending an attack from the middle making it a crucial starategic point that could tip the tide of the battle.
I really like that idea, but the problem is how to choose where to send the creeps. And I'm not sure that its possible to path one portal in 3 directions, but if it works, awesome.
I like the whole keep moving on and the center idea. For the center , just a idea but if u got the middle towers would pop up to defend it and it would make your spawn stronger or something.
Taking the center lane out will vastly simplify things. Just use the Waterfall map as a model and make it four team instead of two. Center area has goody flags and artifact shop, goldmines, etc. Lane creeps move through center of base and then branch out to hit each other on either side, and they'll keep going to the next base if they overrun a team. 8 portals total.
The cool thing is that you can scale this to any number of teams, 3, 5, whatever....
yeah, i think that might be the easiest solution, just forget the middle as a lane altogether.
Now we just have to convince the devs that this is a good idea
The problem with having anything that needs a flag to be taken in middle will make it so only demigods can fight their\,well and generals creations. Thats why their should be away to keep the center without having to use a demigod to defend it all times.
I understand that, but I haven't found a problem with that in Waterfall, because its an artifact shop, and you don't need to possess it at all times. I think if there was an artifact shop in the middle it wouldn't be too bad.
that could defintly work I was just saying things that require permanet control would be bad unless u got towers to protect it. I didn't know what was in the middle of water fall because I havn't played the game yet.
oh right, I forgot you haven't played yet. But yeah, I agree with you.
Although now that I'm thinking about it, there are a lot of flags that are in areas only demigods can reach... The mine level has a double gold mine and artifact shop way away from the creeps path and the war idol is also just a little ways away from it, and in atlantis the side creep portals are also away from creeps, until the flags been taken of course. I hadn't really noticed that until now...
the problem is with 3 or more teams fighting with demigods only than its going to be constantly changing cause u have to protect it from 2 or more Demigods
which is awesome
But my point is their demigods are just gonna keep dieing and its not much fun when your demigod dies every 5 sec.
but at the same time, all the other demigods will be fighting each other as well and since the middle is no where near the action, the demigods aren't going to be hanging around there very often.
Of course we could just put an artifact shop in the middle with no flag leaving it open to everyone.
Yeah I think that'd be best because if their were a flag whoever had would have an advantion so they'd keep attacking it.
Thinking of map ideas are so much fun. I like the idea of a square map 1v1v1v1 or a 2v2v2v2 with no middle and the creeps running the edges. It would be a hectic game. Possiblity of constantly getting doubled etc... Would be fun to manage.
i just thought of something. The probem with 3 teams would be that 2 teams could team up on another.
i think thats a raelly cool aspect, because eventually those teams will have to face each other, besides, you don't know when someone might double cross someone else.
but if someones really good they might loose just because the other team ganked them.
if u can't do something alone, get someone to help. I think its part of the strategy in that case.
Enemy of my Enemy and all.
Ok so the idea is as follows: (2v2v2 or 1v1v1) The map is laid out as shown and the longer arrowed side (i.e. going clockwise around the map) the creeps are twice as strong as the opposite direction. However there are no towers for the advantaged side.
i.e.
team 1 has no towers facing team 2 but has two portals instead of team 2's one portal
team 2 has no towers facing team 3 but has two portals instead of team 3's one portal
team 3 has no towers facing team 1 but has two portals instead of team 1's one portal
That is to say that if the creeps are left to their own devices for the whole game team 1 will overwhelm team 2 at the same time as team two overwhelms team 3, while they overwhelm team 1.
When you add demigods into the mix you have one lane as a homefront and the other you are on the offensive, a well played demigod would be able to reverse this (i.e. go offensive on the lane with 1 portal) but once they leave the balance will quickly return and the fight will be taking place ever closer to your citadel than theirs.
I think this adds tactical depth to the map compared to a 50/50 on each lane and equal towers (tbh im not even sure if towers are a good idea for a map like this as they would overly slow down the advantaged teams progression, destroyable walls would be a better idea perhaps).
I was thinking for a 1v1v1 version of the map there could be 3 portals facing clockwise and only towers facing anticlockwise for less stalemates!
Thoughts, comments etc.

interesting concept! I like it. I feel like 2x creeps would over take 1x creeps really quickly, but maybe with demigods it would be alright. very interesting
I think having more factions would make more sense anyway. I mean as binary as our elections are (USA), there isn't only 2 parties. So while most of the demigod fights might only have 2 sides, there should be some that have 3rd or forth factions for sure. You know, the OTHER demigods that want to be the winning vote in the pantheon. Or even a faction of demigods that want to promote the deadlock between light and dark by not letting either get into what they want and let the mortals themselves live alone.
Thought I'd renew this since it hasn't been replied to since beta
