When Object Desktop 2009 is released, this is where the known issues will be posted. Please post your findings here as well. Thank you!
Notes and Known Issues: (all issues are being worked on at this time)
Theme Manager 3.0 (Published at 11am)
Deskscapes 2.5 (with XP support published at 1pm)
Bootskin Pro 1.0 (published at 6:30pm)
WindowBlinds 6.3 (published on 11/18/2008)
I get the same IP error message But it did apply after clicking ok.
I think Zu said it above that Widgets do not download.
Still frustrated with it. I added IP manually, and it still gave me the error message. In fact, I had to add everything manually. It seems that it couldn't find what I was looking for, even if I put in the artists name. Maybe I am doing something wrong, especially since Zu took a look at it, and my suite was just messed up.
From your description it sounds like it is working correctly. We currently do not know how to support animations with a custom Bootskin.
We thought it would support animation, we are still working on supporting it.
Now for some happier news:
I just want to drop a note of thanks to the devs and all of support.Since getting my rig back online 15 days ago,I've updated everything, including DeskScapes, which had a problem updating previously. I'm beyond happy to report that with the exception of TM not applying WB's correctly absolutely everything else is working great, including CFX .Even my e-mail address change went smoothly.I am very satisfied with OD2009.
In my book you all are the cream of the crop and I look forward to being a Stardock customer for a very long time.
(At the risk of sounding even cheesier to PDJ)
ok having odd problem with bootskin pro, after finally downloading the beta version i now don't get an error when it applies a skin however what does happen is that instead of the dragon bootskin i applied i get the default Hibination screen instead I am running it on a laptop, vista home premium 32 bit and the version of bootskin is 1.01[b].025
Same here. Also using home premium

I have a question for the wise people here. Which of these would run better with Deskscapes on a Vista rig?
The Nvidia GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 128MB , PCI,sm4.0 that came with my new PC or
nvidia GeForce 5200 agp 256MB
If it's a new PC you won't be able to use the AGP card. But disregarding from that fact, AGP is limited in bandwidth, so I would think any PCI-E card would be better.
I am sorry to say that you will not be happy with the performance of Deskscapes with either of those video cards. The GeForce 5200 (in my experience) is not AGP8x which is required.
PCI (not to be confused with PCIe a.k.a. PCIexpress) does not have fast enough bandwidth.
All,
The ATI drivers that support AGP 8x for Deskscapes are available now.

Let us know how they work for your system! Enjoy!
Both of these are insufficient (re: crap) for your needs. The 6150SE is just an integrated graphics on the motherboard chip and the 5200 is ANCIENT by contemporary standards. Neither of these will be good for games OR deskscapes, etc.
Since you said your PC is new, you can get a very decent PCIx graphics card for $100 or less these days. The ONE nice thing about the 6150SE on board is that it supports hybrid SLI if you add another nVidia card. You can google these terms to find out more.
I hope that helps.
Mine says that it is AGP X8, But with vista, since the drawing engine is better, it wouldn't work? Ok, well, the video card that came with the PC seems to do a so~so job. Asteroids runs fairly well with it. Asteroids is a heavy dream.
It may also depend on the codec. MPEG2 dreams should play on anything and everything, since the built in hardware acceleration has been around for a long time. MPEG4 is hi-def and takes up a lot more CPU, even on more modern cards. I'm just speculating, though, so I will leave the real answer to the experts.
I just renewed object desktop. Deskscapes crashes my computer and theme manager won't apply any themes.
Hey guys, what about some updates ? What happens to DesktopX for example ? Rightclick ? ObjectDock ? Apogee II (giggles) ?
They will be released as they get made I would assume...
i am new to the whole docking thing. downloaded it and think its great. but one thing im missing:
when im browsing with firefox for example and i minimize firefox... do i have to alt+tab it to ge it up again?
can i make a new dock for minimized programs or something?
thanks
Depending on how the dock is set up you should just be able to click on the firefox icon in the dock to bring back the window. If you have ObjectDock Plus, you can create a separate dock for your taskbar items that will do this.
ObjectDock Plus 1.90
Vista 64bit
Recently installed Iconpackager
Problem: Objeckdock used to work fine (besides the tray but I'm not using it)
now some of the icons in my tabbed docks are missing after installing IconPackager, I think all the missing ones are LowRes icons, I tried disabling HiRes on ObjectDock (relaunch) and nothing changed.
If I try to change the icon using the "Dock Entry Properties" dialog when I browse for an specific app and choose it, the icon remains blank.
For instance I tried to change the icon from Yousendit, and even if that executable has an icon it doesn't show up and remains blank.
Even tried to rebuld icons in Vista system, and tried setting icons on Iconpackager back to the original ones...no help.
any ideas? can I force ObjectDock to rebuild icons?
I just purchased WindowBlinds 6.4. I just installed Theme Manager 3.09 and CursorFX 2.01. I can't get TM to apply the wallpaper or cursors of the theme I just created using "save my desktop". I need this to work or it's worthless to me. I don't care about any other themes/suites but the ones I create. I want to got to be able to go to suites and load everything at once. I don't want to have to load a skin, then load a wallpaper, then load a cursor. So, is this still broken?
Anybody?
Did you purchase JUST windowblinds or did you purchase Object Desktop? Windowblinds & Thememanager are 2 different things and while Windowblinds is a part of a theme there are several other programs involved with thememanager. If you purchased Object Desktop all should work once installed. Make sure tp set Thememanager to "I want to see advanced options when applying suites"
I only purchased windowblinds. You don't even buy theme manager, it's free. Unless you get a different version in Object Destop. Which has programs I don't want or need. The same with Desktop Ultimate.
And yes, I tried the obvious "advanced options" tab. There is obviously a problem, there is a bullet on the top of this page concerning "my desktop/save my desktop" along with cursors having to be applied twice before it applies in cursorfx. The workaround was to apply things through the applications tab. Seperately. One at a time. That sux. The purpose of creating a "theme", is to have all apps load at the same time. If theme manager does not do that, it worthless. You don't need theme manager to apply a wallpaper, icons or cursors. They sell other programs that do that. Which I have. Theme manager, I thought, would do it all for you at the same time, hence a "theme".
My Desktop / Save My Desktop: Dreams, skins and cursors sometimes do not apply when saved as part of a suite. Please apply through the Applications tab as a workaround at this time.
So, my question still stands: Is it still broken?
