Bootskin Pro 1.0 (published at 6:30pm)
WindowBlinds 6.3 (published on 11/18/2008)
Zargon. With regards to Theme Manager not closing correctly I have tracked the problem down to trying to load Deskscapes. When loading Descapes all I get is the torch searching and Descapes does not load any dreams. After closing Theme Manager the process is still working in the background using about 50% of the CPU. I have Intel E6750 installed. Could this be because I have a lot of dream files installed. They are installed in the default location, Documents\Stardock\Dreams.

Possibly premature report...
Re. Deskscapes in XP Pro (SP3); I'm experiencing what apears to be an incomplete install. The download size of 2.00.058 is initially offered at 54.3MB. When the download is initiated, the progress figures suggests the target is 44.37MB. Impulse shows files extracted and install complete, then returns to showing Deskscapes available.
The Deskscapes folder is created, however only DreamMaker has made an appearance.
Yes, we have not published Deskscapes for XP yet. Coming soon.
You may not be waiting long enough for the torch to finish building the list. Please give it some time.
Thanks for the continued updates Zargon0225, as some folks like to say 'You The Man'.
I'm off to use Theme Manager 3.0 now.
I hate to be a pain but when Deskscapes for XP is released will it be seperate or will we see Deskscapes go to 2.5 and include XP support?
Deskscapes 2.5 will include XP support. It will not be seperate download.
Thank you Philly0381. We appreciate your kind words; it is a team effort here at Stardock. I have a lot of talented people standing behind me.
After the upadate to Sound Packager it won't open. It starts, gets part way thought loading sounds and stops. You get the message that it has encountered a problem and has to shut down.
What sound package? All of them?
no problems here so far... thanks for keeping us updated.
I use XP Home SP2 fully patched. I previously had Deskscapes hidden as it was for Vista. I checked to have hidden programs show and got Deskscapes to show in Impulse but it is partly transparent. It says it's available, and it will go through the install routine, but then just jumps back to Available again. If DeskScapes for XP isn't a standalone then how do I get it to install?
The dream has been updated by Dreamer to handle the sub-directory support and add randomization. However Dreamer is working on fixing an issue where sometimes if you select a subfolder (randomly) Windows Explorer hangs. He hopes to have a fix today. As soon as he does I will personally update the dream and have it uploaded to WinCustomize.
You caught us publishing Deskscapes! Please try again in about 30 minutes.
I also just read a post in DeskScapes for XP that suppoet for AGP video cards isn't yet available. Is this true?
Sound Packager program itself won't load completely
Correct, here is the long answer. We have been working with the video card manufacturers to improve performance running dreams with low CPU utilization on AGP cards.
At this time we have had success obtaining driver updates that perform very well on AGP 8x. These driver updates have not been released by the manufaturer at this time. Until these updated drivers have been installed, dreams running on AGP cards utilize 100% of the CPU.
We expect the video card manufacturers to release the updated drivers to support AGP later this year. With that said, we have tested these new drivers on AGP 8x and 4x. Only AGP 8x provides the necessary bandwidth to run a dream. AGP 4x will not be supported.
Am I right in assuming that Fences doesn"t like Dreamscapes or vice versa?
Other than that works perfecly on my XP machine
I have an Nvidia GeForce 7300GT 512Mb 8x AGP card with the latest drivers from Nvidia and Direct x 9 installed and there are still additonal drivers needed?
Give it a shot on that card with that configuration. You may see acceptable results. Please let us know what CPU utilization you observe.
That is correct - there are some issues with Fences and DeskScapes on Windows XP. Hopefully, these will be resolved in the future, but for now, they do not play perfectly together.
DeskScape 2.5 icon is still transparent in My Destop tab of Impulse. It downloaded 43.6Mb and installed. The icon says installed however DeskScapes does not show up on the Object Desktp tab of Impule at all. Do I need to double click the activate file in Program Files/Stardock/Object Desktop/Deskscapes?
