OK. Call me anal but all the gradient silhouettes are driving me nuts. So I decided to make a full set avatar from the Elemental resources we currently have. Please note that Luckmann has added many more avatars to the collection.You can get them below.

I have tried to include suggested pages to find more avatars by the various avatars if you want to look further. You can also use the "view edits" button if you're very very brave to view all previous versions of this main thread and the images where-in.

This OP is under construction. Due to some browsing issues it is being completely reformatted and built from scratch. There are other user avatars and lots of additional avatars that are supposed to be here in the OP. Jalicos (page: 15) and eplekogen (page: 5) come to mind right away. They should have avatars in this OP soon. Of course wintersong has tons of avatars scattered throughout the web. its a work in progress tracking them down and sorting into 'official art' and 'unofficial art' especially since some of the old 'official' art did not match the current style as well as others.
We are busy people though, and editing this takes more time than one might think.

I have no idea of signature making (I barely know how to do a few things in the Avatar department) but you cannot learn (and epic fail) unless you try... And surely some overachiever out there will like the "challenge".

The cropping of the title is quite bad but when I have more free time (did those during lunch time at the office ) I'll try to make something better out of it. But as "start" seems "good enough". Only need to remind myself of not forgetting the .psd there.
That's an awesome idea! Although it might be worth splitting into a separate thread just because loading this one already takes ages.
Granted, that means I will have two threads to monitor for spaming good karma on everyone who submits, but it's a sacrifice I am willing to make.

So I didn't see the previous few posts until after I made these, and I thought about waiting for Luckmann but it's been three days and you said "emblems", not "crests", so I didn't know if you meant these or the medallions and instead of spending all night trying to figure it out I just posted them anyway and all I can really say to you guys is BE FASTER.
yay! I was thinking about those faction crests. I told Luckmann that he can go ahead and get the credit/karma for the other crests, but I might go ahead and post.... especially because I think Luckmann was saying that he couldn't post them.
(I actually really hope that those crests are just place-holder symbols until the factions are ready. Not just because they are spells turned into faction crests, but the 3 with two small symbols makes those factions look like they are already under other rule)
I agree that most of them look rather generic. However, I like the crests for Umber, Resoln, and Capitar, and the detail in the edge engravings is impressive. I thought at first that Tarth's emblem was a pink squid, though.
Using dual-symbol crests to show vassal affiliation is a neat idea; I hadn't thought of that.
Heh, well thats how its done. I mean historically, when you have a crest that is the combination of 2 other crests, its to show merged families. I remember I had a project based on it back in like 6th grade where we learned about family crests and how or why they were the way they were.
Anyway... I gave the time. I don't want to deny the community access to the the avatars just because Luckmann can't post them. Some of them might not even be around in too many future updates because they seem like filler pieces until replacements can be made (namely the ones that are 3D images placed in medallion circles and are only 128x128, rather than 512 like all the straight-up 2D art).
People should likely give Luckmann karma anyway, because I know he at least started on it, and there are a LOT of freaking medallions, not to mention other graphics that could be used. In fact, I'm giving spartan a pre-emptive karma just because I know based on how long it took me to post these, that He's going to be spending tons of time
Now that I've taken the time to really look through all of these (file names, not just the images) I'm really excited to see them in action. Some beg the question as to what exactly they suggest. For example, Are sand crawlers playable? How many more Sovereigns? And most of all, I couldn't help but noticed there was a medallion labeled "Hill Giant Clothed".... so does that mean there are plans for a "Hill Giant Naked" floating around somewhere? or at least "Hill Giant not-fully-clothed"
Also, please. If I missed one, let me know. I was trying not to do duplicates of whats already up, but some things I've been looking at for so long. either because I've been playing the game or it was posted in a poor-quality form in this thread earlier . I almost forgot to post their better quality versions of what we already had. (like the Knowledge or Academy Medallion)
I have more on the way, but these are the ones ripped directly from the game. I've yet to create avatars from other assets, but they should be on their way as soon as I have time (I've been really busy of late. Some big things didn't go the way I had expected and I've been scrambling to make adjustments)
EDIT: also, I wasn't doing any kind of file size check on these. They should range from just under 20kB to I think about 26kB. Shouldn't be a problem on this forum, but if you want to post it on other forums that limit you to, say, 20k... just let me know and I might be able to get you one that fits your size. There are solutions other than dropping down into an 8-bit PNG (which would put the size around ~5-8kB)

man, not even 12 hours and already we have more than 12 more. If it keeps going at this rate, eventually we'll have to create a system for sorting these (or a system for not-including some). I mean the final game is going to have tons more from the looks of it. They keep making more!
I'd almost suggest that a lot of custom avatars (like my resident troll ones) don't really need to be up top... but whatever.
I'd take down any non pure Elemental from the main post to reduce the noise. (yea, mainly my fault, sorry)
To make up for it and to celebrate that I didn't lose everything in the last cycle of my computer:
If anyone happens to like the style but doesn't have here his/her favourite icon shown, let me know and I'll see what can be done.
I fault you none! You had elemental inspired avatars, and they were great until the game hit our HDs. I consider them to be "Limited Edition" avatars, for those who have been around long enough. I mean I think the MoM ones are fine enough t o be there (though I doubt we really need 3 copies of them ), and many of yours still 'feel' elemental. (I'm not a huge fan of the Final Fantasy ones, but everybody will have their least favorite)
So I guess grab them while they are hot.
I really like these new ones. I like how you put on the city border icons, in their various colors.
I'll make a request. I want the crown icon in that style.

Wow! It took a bit to find that icon. It's small compared to the original avatar size (I didn't have to resize the icon for this one).
I tried to make a bit bigger but my skill is not yet enough and/or something evades me:

hmmm.... that actually isn't the crown I had in mind. Apparently the crown I did have in mind is one of the images they beam in from their online servers, rather than storing on our computers. (I forgot all the faction emblems were not on our comps. I had assumed that like the spells, the key, cup, crown, and helm were also in our stash-o-game files. BUT! you gave me what I wanted anyway by posting those. A clean image of the back now I don't actually have to put forth the effort to recreate it the way I did for the other avatars style I ripped off.
I'm totally putting this crown on.
Edit: I wanted to put my new crown avatar up, but I can't I thought it was the same issue as the digicons, but no.... its obviously something else since the digicons are back.
Hahaha You only had to ask for it. It's not like I keep them as treasures or something.
