I tried playing KoTor Yesterday (after installing most recent vista updates) and i keep getting an emulator error.
it was working fine sunday but aint now
any ideas what might be going wrong?
You are walking a semi fine line there. You are asking in a game company's community how to use a emulator to run what could only be a pirated game.
ok that came out wrong.....
i own the game, its some error that came up every time i tried to start it, it contains the word "emulator" im not sure what the heck it means
i put the disk in, click the game option on the start menu, comes up with the screen of the ebon hawk then that error pops up
any ideas?
EDIT: let me stress this once more.....i OWN THE GAME
nevermind......ill just stop posting on this topic
EDIT2: maybe this isnt exactly the place to post about game errors........
however, i can send you a screen of the error message when i get the chance if that will help
My apologies for the response then. Generally an emulator means that you are running some program in order to run an image of a game so I didn't mean to be rude.Go ahead and post the picture if you like and the community can give you a hand. I can't provide official support for a game that isn't ours of course but that does not stop from our community from helping out. Have you contacted BioWare?I did not mean to make you feel unwelcome so please let me know if there is anything I can help with.
its not a problem
havent contacted bioware
error, i insert the play disc , click the "game" option on the start menu and it pops up
It's the copy protection. You will likely need to close or uninstall any virtual drive or cd burning software on your machine.
And from experiance, I can tell you that may work -- or it may not. KOTOR's version of suckRom is especially anal sometimes -- you may need to try and run it 3-4 times in a row before it'll realize its safe to run.
I had something similar happen in an instance like that. Bioware is slow with support (due I'm sure to volume) but they did end up getting it fixed for me. It ended up being something that had to be taken care of on their end as much as mine so I don't have any advice but to make sure you talk to them. Sorry for your troubles.
And lack of crippling DRM like that is why we all Stardock.
