Dear Ms Palin,
You do not know me because I don't even live in the US, but I have been following your political career with great interest since you were announced as John McCain's running mate, at to be quite honest, I didn't like you. While the 'bridge to nowhere debacle sorta started it for me, I think the: "I can see Russia from my bedroom window.", clinched it for me and raised some serious concerns, not so much with you selling secrets that help keep the World a safer place, but more that Polar bear citizens of Alaska... the US, may have ended up working for peanuts in some Russian circus in exchange for constant supplies of vodka or something.
Anyway, you didn't make it to VP and I'm glad... but please, I do mean that in the sincerest of ways. Now that you're not in the VP limelight, you're less likely to be the butt of all political jokes... well not so often if you keep your head down for a while and put off opening that fast food chain with John, McPalin's, I think you were going to call it, for a year or two, or at least until the dust settles, if you know what I mean.... like people trying to order lipstick on a pig burgers, or yellow snow slushees.
I must also admit that I deeply resented the fact that you could spend $200, 000 plus on clothes since I couldn't even afford a second-hand strait jacket that I happened to find in an opp shop that would fit me, but now is all forgiven and I wish you all the besy in your post-election life. Some benevolent soul recognised my lunacy and donated me an almost brand new strait jacket that fits perfectly, so now I have no reason for sour grapes any more. Like you, however, and how you can hang most of those clothes away in the closet for months, years at a time, I do not need to wear my new strait jacket all the time, either, and thus I am able at this time to write you this letter of commissuration on your election loss. I mean, yeah, I'm as pleased as hell that Joe biden is there instead, but commissurations are still in order because now I have less tongue in cheek crap to post in these here forums at your expense.
Oh well, you win some you lose some, but seriously, Sarah, all jokes aside, all the best to you and thanks for the laughs and memorable moments you provided us..
I dunno. After all, the Democrats just elected a first term senator on a platform of vague platitudes. Palin seems like a reasonable choice relatively speaking.
This is so one of those threads that Skinhit would run his mouth...Yet now I am restraining and walking away. PS...Palin's a fucking idiot...whoops
With Starkers on this. Will never, ever, support a person like Palin. Someone needs to inform her that Africa is a contienent and not a country too.
The country USED to be center of right, but the vietnam era generation is now in the dwindling minority, politically speaking. As I stated in earlier threads on this forum, The nation moves forward...ever forward...slowly. Sometimes it's two steps back, and sometimes it's three steps forward. But ever forward, slowly but surely.
The Republican party will move more centrist...or split into two. If they split into a moderate and right wing form, they won't see the reins of power again for decades. If they move forward and more to the center, the current Republican "base" will continue to be marginalized, as they should be. As the current generation will now become older, more powerfu, and more populous.
Either way, you'll either see Sarah Palin moved hard to the center or you'll never see her on the national stage again.
I, for one, think America made a conscious decision FOR substance and competence this time around. I hope they never get so comfortable that they ever consider another Joe/Jane Sixpack for high office again.
But she'll live a long life and there are many elections to come. If McCain can flip all of his positions in a single campaign season, Palin can too. And, who knows, given a few years of studying, she might actually acquire some relevant and worldly knowledge by the next time she pops up.
I'm SURE that she'll learn that Africa is a continent by then ... video from Fox News today. Which, you will see, confirms every single thing I have said about her since her hail mary nomination.
Second that
Aw, cut her some slack, it's not like she can see Africa from her house.
There were people, like me, who said...
She was NOT properly vetted.
She was a "hail mary" pass in the hopes of stealing disaffected Hillary votes.
She's grossly unqualified to step into the President's shoes should something terrible happen to McCain.
Their handlers were keeping her from press interviews because she had NO knowledge whatsoever.
Even the answers she would give were off of cue cards, you know, the beauty queen/Bush doctrine.
And there were those, like Fox News, etc. who said we were all full of it.
Today we find out, from Fox News no less, that we were right and they were not.
So, guess what? You CAN tell the spin from the truth if you listen to the people who AREN'T LYING. Like me.
I happy dance for change.
Tut, tut, Jack, now that was very naughty of you.... there's a worldwide fraternity of fucking idiots who would resemble that association. And it's treading on dangerous ground, too. I called her an airhead and the next thing I'm getting threatening emails from various blondes who didn't like the assoociation one bit.
Yeah, ya gotta be real careful what you say these days. Take Barack Obama, for example, he thought nothing more of it after mentioning Sarah Palin along with the pig and the lipstick, but the Pig Farmers Association issued him with a 'notice to appear'. Apparently this price of pork bellies hit an all-time low after that remark, and now they're suing him for lost revenue.
I'm a bit worried myself, actually. Although I've tried to make peace here with Sarah Palin, I'm still worried she might send a couple of blokes around in dark suits and mooseskin hats to teach me a lesson for making her the butt of so many jokes.
LOL
Apparently, Sarah's lap dancing for change, now the VP race is over and her salary's been cut...hehe.
We are on the same page but in all fairness , the Bush Doctrine is a complicated piece of legislature that when asked about would get the same response from almost anyone. This issue was inflated by the Dems as I undertsnad it.
In 4 years she will have 2 more kids and her kids will have a few more so there isn't room in the white house for this family. It will be the biggest welfare case in history ( after Wall Street).
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but that strait jacket is really a kimono .... and it's from the $150,000 wardrobe that was donated to charity by the RNC.
Yep, Sarah Palin is your benefactor.
And Dude! (keeping with the frame of reference here) The major media over here were reporting the wardrobe at $150,000 not $200,000! You should have let them know you had the real numbers! (you got receipts, right?)
You could have been bigger than Dan Rather! (Speaking of which .. if the receipts are a problem, check with Dan .. he's got the sources .. if you know what I mean .. wink, wink, nudge, nudge)
In OZ we often get the USD figure...and the AUD figure...so life gets complicated.
Depending on the time of day [these days] 150,000 USD is about 200,000 AUD ....
Yep, a lot of class acts are posting here. Guess it's not quite time for some to 'move on' and work together.
Ah, so that's why it had been 'pre-stretched' some to accomodate my man-boobs.... Sarah Palin had it on first.
And I hate to say it fellas... like shatter any illusions for those of you who think Palin's hot n' busty, she's only an A cup and I got bigger boobs than her. hehe.
Good to see such... class from the left of center users here.
I'm closing this thread now. Perhaps we can reference it later when someone else whines that conservatives haven't "unified" behind Obama.
As the lights fade she sinks back into obscurity, waiting only to be metamorphosed in 2012 into something more qualified. Maybe in the interim four years she might get a law degree, a political science degree, actually be a PTA officer. Perhaps some high school geography classes would be of help also.
