Given the experience Stardock has had with the diplomacy in Galactic Civilization games, I think it would be nice to try to take some of these aspects and incorporate them into the second diplomacy expansion. Essentially, the ability to sell/trade/barter anything was really cool in GalCiv games. You could become a huge trading powerhouse by supplying weapons to two sides in a conflict or be an industrial giant and supply arms to one side to fight off a common enemy. It would be cool to see these wide range of aspects incorporated into Sins. Anyway, just a thought.
It could be nice to have more recources than just Money, metal and Crystal but that might cause you to lose focus on other things and I like how sins is streamlined and nothing is more complicated than it needs to be. (To an extent)
I would luv to see more diplomacy options but the way it is now with sins i don't know what form that would be. Maybe in the next micro expension - the infrastructure one that blair spoke about - they will flesh it out a lil. I would also like to see the AI build Super weapons that would be cool

not only that but be able to more control your economy
maybe add an power to a cappy to make them double a planets tax output for x amount of time...
or of course make an economic focused cappy
Do need more diplomacy. Say rather then some impossible mission, it could be my planet is under attack help me out and I will reward you.
what about being able to modify trade routes on a larger scale or declare an ecomonic war to attack trade routes.
I do agree that being able to sell or trade ships would be a neat idea but I would much rather prefer new units. Actually, what I'd really like are more buildings.
You know that space between the planet and the area you can build in? Wouldn't it be awesome if we could build orbital platforms or a ring around the planet (think Conquest: The Frontier Wars). Habitat rings or platforms to raise population caps. Extra hangers for fighters and builder ships. Defense platforms with flak guns and other weapons to help defend the planet (especially from siege ships). Research platforms to increase research speed. Stuff like that.
It'd be also nice to build deep space platforms (other than the super defense stations). Something in the areas without colonizeable planets and asteroids. You know, a Deep Space Nine sort of deal or Babylon 5. Whether for just defense or to add an extra population and resource center. It could also allow you to build in that area.
And more upgrades for planets would be nice. Besides emergency services to increase planet hit points and reduce damage taken from orbital bombardments, there should be a slot for silos and other terrestrial defenses. Surely missile silos exist. Is it not feasible that they could fire missiles from the planet at attacking ships? And more research centers planetside.
I was kind of hoping for troop transports. Although I guess colony frigates and the capital ship count as this, but additional uses would be neat. Such as boarding actions to take over ships or to decrease the time it takes to capture a planet.
It would be nice to be able to build defences on the planet itself. Have a Hoth style Ion cannon hiding in a valley somewhere just waiting for a Vasaari bombardment ship to come into view...

Exactly! No one would expect it. Would add an extra consideration when laying siege to a planet.
