For those who like games like master of magic and age of wonders there is a new game that was recently released that is called Kings Bounty.
I picked it up yesterday from direct download at the Atari website and the game is awesome. Graphics, gameplay, funfactor. Kind of reminds of when I first tried Sins.

Yeah, it's been sucking away all my free time since it launched! Definitely enjoying it.
Witcher EE is better.
Apple, meet orange. Orange, meet apple.
from what I read, neither seem that appealing to me
I agree. Except for the OP, the other posts are very thin & childish niaiseries.
I purchased it direct from Atari (because Amazon Canada has delayed its own release date), and I somewhat enjoy it.
I must admit that Mr Apple-and-Oranges was partially right (refering to another thread) : the visual quality is better than HM&M 5 -- but only in what concerns the landscape.
But ... one must consider that the HM&M 5 designers had to plan for the creation & random generation of map features on many scenarios & custom maps, whereas the KB designers had the advantage of concentrating on only one single map design. It's relatively easy, then, to spend time to fine-tune & refine the one & only map you are offering to players !
To bad it has starforce.
The retail, full game is NOT protected by Starforce !
The demo was originally protected by SF, but it seems that it was somewhat disabled in its recent version. When I uninstalled the demo, a SF removal programme did not find any trace of SF on my system.
Believe me : I would not tolerate SF on my computer, in any form.
The full game I purchased from Atari direct-download is protected by a relatively weak version of SecuRom -- it's nothing as bad as the version which "protects" SPORE.
What'd you read? King's Bounty got universally great reviews, so the only thing I can think of is that it's just not your type of game. It's got a demo too, so you can give it a shot.
I've played through the original Witcher as well (didn't get a run through for EE yet), and it's also a pretty good RPG especially for the story, but the character development isn't as diverse as what I like. It's plenty deep, but not enough diversity compared to, say, the plethora of D&D character classes
I've seen no reviews for King's Bounty (anyone got links?) but I adored the original game from the early 90's. If this is a true successor it's going to be an automatic purchase.
The original post contains a link to the gamerankings site for King's Bounty and there are two reviews linked there. Gamespot links to the same two
There are more reviews for the Russian version, but they're basically the same, just translations and such mostly is my understanding.
