Galactic Civilizations II v2.0 is a major free update to Galactic Civilizations II: Dark Avatar and Galactic Civilizations II: Twilight of the Arnor.
Galactic Civilizations is a turn-based space strategy game set in the 23rd century. In it, humans have begun colonizing the galaxy and have encountered several alien civilizations, some friendly, some hostile. Players must guide humanity by building fleets of ships, researching new technologies, negotiate treaties, fight wars, and much more. It is a game of epic scope and depth. Each game is different since the galaxy is randomly generated, the computer AI in the game behaves differently and the game has an immense number of setup options to give players a great deal of variance.

Most of the new features in v2.0 are for users who have Twilight of the Arnor but a few biggies are for Dark Avatar as well.

That didn't take long....
Awesome will have to give this a try.

It is because of customer care like this that I love SD. You da' Frogboy! and as I posted in the part two thread, I think this is pure awesome sauce!

I saw a local gaming seller advertise
Galactic Civilizations II: Endless Universe PC
Is this the same you are talking about here.
2.0 will be an update for DA and TA, and I believe Endless Universe is a bundle of DA and TA that can run without the base Dread Lords game. So the answer to your question is "sort of."
Not really. EU is a european release of DA/TA bundled together.
2.0 is a new patch going to be released in the coming weeks.
So if I went and bought the "endless universe" could I upgrade it with the forthcoming 2.0 patch ?
I mean the ver 2.0 is a patch to the game engine, and enless universe is a standalone release but uses that engine, right ?
Yes.
I don't think that EU is aknowledged by Impulse yet, but it will for when 2.0 comes out. This is only important to know so that you don't freak when it doesn't show on Impulse and so that you know you can't take part in the 2.0 beta. Then again, I may be wrong and they've done the stuff they needed to to get EU aknowledged...
Ok. It's just that years back the way civ3 patches were localized left me traumatized forever.
Not that I can blame Stardock for that one
where are the stardock personal on this one anyways.
I'd say...enjoying their weekend?
