When launching a new game, Demigod tries to create a directory such as C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Forge\replays\
I suppose that the problem is that I have a french Vista and that in that case, it should be in C:\Utilisateurs\. Or maybe it's a problem of rights. Anyway, that totally blocks the game.
Ooh, that's not good. I don't think there's an easy way to circumvent that. What exactly happens when it tries to make this folder? Does it crash? Do you get a dialog? Does it freeze?
It's a one liner fix, so maybe you won't have to worry for long

I think it may be a different problem. Does yours crash with a fatal error on the VS. screen? It may be a problem with french vista in general, or it may be similar but unrelated problems.
i have the same error message, so than i create the folder manualy... but actually game freeze at the battle field screen

Hmmmm, so it also screws up for XP? That's even odder, because the inane User Account Idiocy didn't get put in till vista. This is definitely something the devs should check out soon.
Sorry for the late reply but I wasn't having internet access over the week-end.
I've created the folder hierarchy manually (BTW, you can't create C:\Users when you already have C:\Utilisateurs as Vista recognizes it's the same). That allowed me to start the game.
But as for Kazcroot, the game freezes at the battle screen : it shows the map, you see teh animated water, then the water animation stops and nothing happens. You have then to get the task manager to kill the game.
Do you happen to have any characters with accents in your directory (IE non ascii letters)? If you do (such as in your user name), make a new user name for now with no accents of any kind in the name. It seems to be a problem with foreign characters.
Yes, I have an accented letter in my name. I've tried with a pure ASCII username, and I've been able to play the beta. (I've even managed to win, although I had no strategy whatsoever.)
