This problem was introduced in the latest patch of FA. It was never fixed there. It exsists here too in Demigod.
Game wouldn't load. I hoped this wasn't the issue, but i guessed it was, uninstalled drivers, and it works.
Uninstalling my webcam isn't a proper solution(Requires restarting computer between installing/uninstalling the drivers! Extremely unconveint just to install/uninstall them as it is, having to restart too is even worse. This NEEDS to be fixed.)
AFAIK it's a problem with all logitec quickcams.

I have the same issue, My solution was easier-I uninstalled Forged Alliance(i just don't want to reccomend you do the same thing TheCoreCommander might read this and try and ban me from Halcyon)

*SIGHS* Well I can't play FA anymore with webcam drivers installed so might as well uninstall it.
This is also the case for me. I went to add/remove and removed Logitech QuickCam, and I did not even have to restart in order for Demigod to fire up. Before the uninstall Demigod would only stay in the task list for maybe 2 seconds before disappearing. This is MY XP machine. The interesting thing is that the machine that I put Demigod on at work for hardware compat testing will load Demigod with the Logitech QuickCam software installed. That machine is Vista, so I'm sure that makes a difference. Is everyone else having a problem on XP? I have the QuickCam® Pro 9000 if that helps.
(As an interesting aside, Thunderbird will not update itself if you have the tray icon for the Logitech cam running. Close it and TB will do pending updates.)
Killing the communicator_helper process will help.
I have a Logitec Quickcam, and I'm also experiencing this exact problem. Demigod refuses to start up or show any signs of starting up; as if the run demigod button is just a broken object. This is a really random issue, and should be fixed as soon as possible. For now I will uninstall the drivers just so I can play.

I believe it's basically ANY logitech webcam.. And it's the neweest ones, they haven't updated them in years.
I've already uninstalled so i'm not sure..

It was discovered during FA beta that the direct cause of the problem is LVPrcInj.dll. People found that merely killing this process in the Task Manager would allow them to load up the game. In fact, just renaming LVPrcInj.dll to LVPrcInj.old fixed the problem completely.
Unfortunately it was also discovered by googling this DLL that hundreds of other programs are affected badly by it, and it is very much Logitech's problem that GPG cannot fix without their help.
This DLL, by the way, is used primarily for the "video effects" feature of the webcam, which is of questionable value. If you never use this feature, then you won't notice any difference in how the webcam works and do not have to uninstall it.
Thanks Vid-szhite. I'll do that. I don't think i use the video effects.
Still, tons of people are goign to have this problem, as we've seen with the small pool of beta players, so I hope GPG can do something about it.
