Does anyone here hate me?
I grew up in the 80s but I am not a fan of most 80s music. I'll take 60s, 70s, or 90s any day over that lost decade.
Sentient species taste better...
Aye...the only good thing about the 80's was....it ended.
What was awsome was that the weekend of our wedding, the local rock station was playing all 90's music...be it scarey (Macerina anyone?) or not. We both went thru middle/highschool during the 90's, so that music held our sway the most.
Speaking of...I'm rockin out to Rage's "Bombtrack" right now.
Seattle tunes Loup??? Oh no..i mean i got into the whole grunge thing when it hit a bit, but it was just a phase. Blokes droning on about how bleak the world is got real old real quick. The best thing to come out of Seattle was Soundgarden...
Macerina.....i...err...have to go now.....im going to get some tetth pulled, it's a far better choice than listing ing to that crap!!!
GUERRILLA RADIO
Aye it is...like I said, the good, the bad, and the HORRID was played that weekend. For the most part, it was good.
My biggest throwback to Seattle though is this compilation of a group Mad Season. A nice end of the week wind-down tune to it. It's earned a permanant spot in my car CD changer.
Oh don't worry...I got their self title, Evil Empire as well as The Battle for Los Angeles here at work...along with the song No Shelter...
Now for the curve ball for those trying to find my niche in music. ~points at his B.B. King Anthology albums~ Yeah...that just happened.
Grand Daddy of Grunge = Neil Young
Couldn't resist.
@Mumbe..
Neil Young has stood the test of time....i cant say i hate him at all, though he is not on my iphone either.
I would have to say that one of the best bands to come out of Seattle was Mother Love Bone. Well actually I would say they are tied with early Soundgarden (Hands All Over and Flower were a few of their songs that I could listen to all night while....ummm....meditating while holding a burning piece of chaulk).
And how can you say there were no good 80's songs Loupdinour. I mean that's when Metallica was at their best, the world was ruled by the 4 Horsemen (Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer). Plus some of the best bands to ever grace a tape deck were around: D.R.I., Token Entry, Cro-Mags, Suicidal Tendencies, S.O.D., Corrosion of Conformity (before they became a Stoner Rock band), The Exploited (punk), etc.
But then again having Vanilla Ice come out during the 90's I can see where you would enjoy the music from that era so much more.
"turn off the lights, and ill glow"
Seattle's best band...Queensryche
Ohh..Good call. Very cool band. Well i like Soundgarden better still. Speaking of Soundgarden, i hear a rumor that Chris Cornell may be singing for Velvet Revolver.
Could be an interesting combonation.
They're in my CDplayer in my truck right now . I usually listen to the MP3 player in there though nowadays.
This posting has changed completely from hating seth to music. Does music hate you Seth?
Seth, I do not hate you.
However, I found this question rather dumb.
Stupid gay edit button didn't show up again...
Seth, many of us like you. If there is one person people dislike, it's probably me. But who knows.
While there are certainly people that get along with some people less than others, mostly no one wishes anyone else any actual harm. Hate falls into the category of actual harm.
I think I can speak for many on this forum that consider the topic of a person's psychological motivations as "touchy feely". The whole topic makes us uncomfortable. So while no one wishes anyone else actual harm no one also appreciates being put into the position where their response can cause actual hurt.
It's like the guy at the office that you exchange casual greetings with. When you say "Hi, how are you" the last thing you really want to hear is for the guy to start telling you all his problems. You're only making polite casual conversation. The correct response is something like "Fine, and yourself".
This online "net interaction" as some have called it is similar. While I do believe that a few actual friendships do develop, mostly at best it's merely a bunch of acquaintances. You need to know the difference between a friend and an acquaintance and act accordingly.
The same person that mentioned "net interaction" also seemed to imply that the purpose of it was to "win friends and build a reputation". The people that I do feel come close to actual friendship are those that share the belief that this kind of attitude is a load of crap. I come to this site simply to discuss a game that I love and I assume that others come to this site for the same purpose, everything else is superfluous.
You need to be secure in your own skin. No one else can do that for you. If you aren't comfortable with yourself then who else can be? I'm not a physciatrist or a pyschologist, and it's not my job to try to build someone up if they get too down on themselves nor conversely to try to knock someone down when they get too full of themselves. But like I said, I doubt anyone here wishes anyone else actual harm and while there may be a few willing to kick someone when they're down, most would at least make the attempt at helping someone up before adding insult to injury.
~ears tuck back~ Youch man!
I wasn't a fan of the "4 horsemen", so I'm still holding true to my comment, with an exception now. Punk, akin to the Sex Pistols was fine. The "punk" that developed in the very late 90s early 2000's however I wanted to rip my ears off, same goes to this latest trend of emo rockers. Don't get all peirced and tatted up and sing ballads...this is how the 80's went wrong lol.
That...and I have the attention span of a ferret.
LOL I barely remember the 80s or the 90s, HMMMM.... what year is it now? (DEEP INHALE.... ERE)
