Of the Arnor
Like my previous one I have skipped the beginning of the game and I will start once I start to accumulate weapons and prepare for war.
I have returned to the Corata sector to destroy the Dread Lord and Korath bases.
For the picture imagine a Yuzhan Vong in full body armor, but I can’t change it. (Sigh)
My most advanced weapon is a Rail Gun MK II. I control most of the galaxy, but am struggling from debt in the colonization rush and the building up of all my planets. Also my population hasn’t had time to grow seeing as they have all been sent out to colonize new planets. The Korath already have a fleet Tykoski II and it won’t be long before transports arrive to. To sum it up my position is that of the US at the beginning of WWII in the Pacific. I didn’t have very much military and my enemies have very fortified base worlds. If the war continues to last more than a year, however, that I will almost definitely win.
The Vengeance class starship is built with extremely good engines, but only carries one attack with its rail gun MK II. This ship will be used in fast strikes that go near Dread Lord worlds. It is also equipped with a reinforced hull plate that will give it more hit points.I design my military starship.

And speaking of reinforced hull plates I got the idea to put them onto a cargo hull.
The Korath have mining and a Starbase in the SW portion of the Galaxy. The Dread Lords are there to. The Korath also have many starbases in my space. I will first secure my territory in Operation Deep Space 9…
Is there a DL campign AAR, cause I'd really like to make one.
No there isn't. one worrd of advice is that is it's not a story then put in pictures.
Next installment's coming
Rather than add reinforced HP modules on a cargo ship it would be more cost effective to research and build combat ships with larger hulls. I usually skip tiny and small hulls, with my first combat ships having medium hulls.
Strategic Analysis
By the time of the actual attack I will have 3-4 squadrons in the Kyoski system. I will be facing 2+ fleets of 9 attack or more. To counter this in the past I have simply retreated and led them on a wild good chase while my other ships attack the stationary strong point. However they don’t have planetary invasion and so I’m not very worried about them invading. One advantage I will have is that I can go into orbit on one side of the planet and leave orbit on the other side. This will increase my speed even more. I just need to stay 3 spaces away from the Korath warships, so that I won’t be attacked. Also I have my new warship that has 4 attack in Mass Drivers. They have a military mining Starbase near me, but it is well defended and it wouldn’t be wise to attack it. Like all other operations it is dependent on the Dread Lords not fighting. I will wait until I have some Slugger fleets out with 12 total attack and then I will launch my strike. The problem is that time it still at least 6 weeks away. My strategy will be to hold Tykoski III and wait for the Sluggers to arrive.
Sorry about being absent for uhh... a few weeks meby?
Operation Run Like Hell Jun 22 2230-1 Feb 2231
This operation is basically to hold Tykoski III during the Korath counter attack. For this I have designed a new ship that uses both Human and Korath technology. The Slugger Class Starship is what will turn the tide of the war.
The two Korath fleets continue to pursue the 3rd Fighter Squadron. I hope to attack them next week with Fleet Hope which is made up of 3 Slugger Class Starships.
But I forget to move the 3rd Fighter Squadron and it is destroyed in a crushing defeat.
Oh well.
But Fleet Hope is ready to attack.
The Korath, however, have a different plan.
Fleet hope isn’t enough to take on four different Korath fleets. Luckily these new Korath ships are slow, so My Orbiter Squadrons can outrun them. I will have Fleet Hope engage the two Korath fleets that chased the 3rd Fighter Squadron. I accidentally stop right next to them, so they will have the first strike advantage. I hope my fleet will be enough. But yet again the 20% of the Korath’s brain cut out by the computer is the crucial part. The Korath fleets bypass Fleet Hope and head for the Orbital Squadrons. This means that I will have first strike ability. I order the attack.
I win in a major victory. I would have liked it if I hadn’t lost a single ship but for the circumstances this was great. I will fold a new slugger into Fleet Hope to make up for the loss.
I pull back all my Orbitals around Tykosky III so that Fleet Hope can deal with them.
The battle is a total failure. I lose Fleet Hope and the Korath only lose one ship.
I temporarily disband the 5th fleet and combine it with another Slugger in the area. I attack yet again.
I lose the slugger, but destroy the enemy fleet.
Now there are just two Korath fleets left. One is headed for the planet. I prepare to have the 5th and 8th Fighter Squadrons attack it.
However suddenly they both start to chase the 7th Fighter Squadron around. I still have my superior speed and the Korath aren’t good at boxing me in. This chase will give me time to reform fleet hope using the new Slugger class Starships built last week.
I order Fleet Hope to attack their fleets.
It is a major victory on my behalf.
However there is still one Korath fleet in the area and Fleet Hope is damaged. I order the 7th squadron to attack to soften up the Korath before I attack. The ships weave in and out of each other while firing deadly bolts of ions.
I don’t believe it. The 7th squadron defeats them at the loss of 3 out of 4 ships. This may sound bad, but those ships are extremely powerful and they have taken out as many as nine of my ships with only one or two casualties, like at the Second Somme.
I will send the remainder of Fleet Hope to go look for a Military Starbase that we think was helping the Korath in the area. Also today was a day that I have long been waiting for. Both me and the Korath have 24 as our military strength.
I attack Korath mining again. I also design a Starship that will take out the Korath Military Mining Starbase.
Once I have one or two of them then I will attack their Starbase and end Operation Run Like Hell.
Finally my first two heavy battleships are ready and Battle Squadron 1 (one Heavy Battleship and two Orbitals) is ready to go on the offensive. I will start by attacking the Military Mining Starbase with which they are using to project themselves into my territory. Then I will use my other Heavy Battleship to spearhead the attack on Apollo I.
I order the attack on the Starbase.
I love watching the Heavy Battleship own the Starbase. It reminds me of the Battle of Coruscant on Star Wars Episode III.
Finally I win the battle, but the Heavy Battleship has to be withdrawn for repairs.
Finally I am in complete control of the area around Kyoski. Now that I have built up my ships I will now invade the Apollo system in Operation Red-Ball express…
Excellent-seems like the War is going well mr
Why don't you outfit your combat ships with defenses? Defenses are cheaper to research than weapons and require less space. Of the three weapon types: beams, missiles, and guns, guns are the cheapest to defend against. Time to research armor!
what an amazing AAR i think you should continue this one!
